Welcome To Our Annual Huston Cattle Co. Production Sale Hard to believe it is already our third sale. I guess with our three little ones running wild and always something needing to be done around here, time simply passes quickly! One nice thing about time flying by, it means the sale rolls around that much quicker. I can not wait for this particular sale, I have been thinking about it non-stop since we started breeding heifers back in early May! I knew last spring that this was going to be a very special set of bred heifers. We culled harder than ever and went into breeding season with only 140 open heifers. Of that 140, we pin pointed the top 55-60 for this sale. In keeping with the idea of fewer numbers, we only weaned our top 20 heifer calves. However, the key to making this sale much more enjoyable for myself, has been the addition of Taylor Schwartz as our herdsman. Taylor has been nothing short of a blessing thus far. He is young, energetic and most of all enjoys what he is doing (at least that is what he tells us!). His hard work is very evident and you will see that by the presentation of the sale cattle. Folks, I want you to know one thing, I have put my heart and soul into this operation, and after ten “short years of doing so, I would like to present to you what I think could very well be one of the top sets of cattle to sell in North America! Please do not hesitate to call. I would love to visit with you about the cattle. Thanks Again, Mike Huston Huston Cattle Company

Huston Cattle Co. 1 April 2008 • Spring Bred Heifer • 1/4 Simmental
Sire: After Shock Dam: Dateline Angus 325 Well, no better way to kick off the 2009 Heart of the Herd Sale than this absolutely amazing After Shock bred heifer. This heifer was always my favorite since we weaned last fall. I will challenge anyone to find one any stouter or made any better than this maternal phenom. Whether it’s a heifer or bull calf it will be worth a lot. Due 3-10-2010 to Meyer 734

Lot 2 might be the squarest, stoutest hipped After Shock we have ever had. That is saying a lot, since we have sold more of them than anyone in the country.

Huston Cattle Co. 9 Fall 2007 Friction x (Bates x Full Throttle) TH and PHA Negative First of all, I would like to thank my friend Trent Griffith of Granville, IL. Trent bought this heifer as an investment in our 2008 sale. Fortunately, the ball has bounced in a very favorable manner for all of us. At this time, Trent & I have agreed to sell the following genetics from this truely amazing female. Please accept this as our invitation to come and view what I still think could be the female to change the club calf industry! If you don’t trust me view her video on www.hustoncattle.com!

Well here is the fall Heat Wave heifer that has a lot of people talkin’! I have talked to a lot of people about this particular heifer and everything that I have said thus far is true, except one thing, she just keeps getting better and better everyday. I was told the Jr. National Chi Show is in Springfield, IL this summer and I would sure think this one could make a run at it! Just come and see for yourself.

Sire: Eyes On The Money Dam: Kadabra x Angus If this heifers pen mate was not so damn good she would be the one makin’ all the friends! Folks this red heifer is really a very remarkable female in her own reguard. She will take a lot of heat in the ring this winter/summer. Good Luck to the new owners!

We jumped in head first when it came time to breed cows last summer to Point Taken. I thought a lot of him at Denver that year and like I told Ben, the calves only reinforced how I felt about the bull. Lot 66 is the heifer calf that has created the majority of the chatter amongst the barn help. I know she might have a little throat, but I wouldn’t trade this one for any other % Simmental right now. The future looks awful bright for her.

If you have paid attention to the catalog, you would have realized by now this is a full sister to Lot 2. Taylor & I disagreed on whether we should try and sell her! I told him After Shocks never sell well as babies, but he wanted to try. All joking aside folks, this is an amazing young breeding heifer, or maybe show heifer too.

Sire: Black Label Dam: Angus 4030 I’m going to brag on a couple of buddies young bull real fast. Three ears ago Ross Lentman & I were at Interglobe Genetics in Pontiac, IL. We stumbled through the barns, keep in mind, it was late in the summer, too late to breed any more cows. Guyer & Duello had this bull named BLACK LABEL an IRISH WHISKEY son. I had never heard of him, but I will say this, “Best yearling bull I’ve ever seen standing in a stud barn!” So we bred a handful of cows to him the next year and here we are. I absolutely love Lots 74, 75 & 76. Lot 74 is really, really, really good. Taylor gets a little more attached to her everyday. No matter where she ends up, I think they will be very happy!

Lot 75
Here is the dilemna, trying to describe Lot 75! If this heifer matures into 1/2 the animal I personally think she can be, all I can say is this, “IT IS OVER”. She is just so damn young and green. However, I would not change one thing about her. Her feet and pasterns are to die for. She is so long and level and good hipped. Her shoulder and neck just complete what I think could be a pretty amazing package someday!

Sire: Black Label Dam: C339U Granddaughter I think Lot 76 might be the combo heifer of the three. A little bit stouter than Lot 74, but not near the balance. Maybe just a little less risky compared to Lot 75 in terms of feeding one. Either way, Lot 76 should have her name right in the mix!

Sire: Smokin Joe Dam: Sight Unseen 7179 Now, here is a Mainetainer that is ready for a little action. This May baby just keeps coming and coming everday. Her body composition has that look which will allow her to develop into what I really feel will be a major league contender next fall.

Huston Cattle Co. 49 Power Plant x Garwood Angus • DOB: 1998 Grand Dam of Lot 54 & Lot 64
Well, it’s time to close the chapter on the Garwood cows. Ron Parkins bought 103 fall calving pairs in 2002, all carrying the Garwood brand. This particular cow has left behind some awful good daughters and granddaughters. Most notably was a Cheap Trick daughter 4529 who we recently sold to Richard Davis, of Georgia. Well, 4529 is the mother of Lot 54 & 64, two Heat Wave females. I realize Lot 89 is 12, so take good care of her and she will do the same to you! Thank you and we will see you November 22nd in Roseville! Due 3-10-2010 to The Headliner
