Lot 1 Miss Cunia 314 SIRE: CUNIA • DAM: ANGUS BD: SPRING 2003 • AMAA #391174 OPEN READY TO FLUSH
Who says opportunity never strikes twice? Here’s your chance if you missed the opportunity before. Here’s a full sister to a great success story from our Rising Star I sale. In our 1st Rising Star sale, Kirk Rodgers purchased a full sister to this lot.
She was bred to Friction, Kirk took her home and calved her out and later sold that calf for $10,250 and went on to be a successful champion for Tyler Faber. Miss Cunia 314 is all the good of this old school pedigree. Sound, maternal, moderate and productive. Flush her and she can make great steers or replacement females. This is your chance to start a great success story of your own.

Lot 3 Yo Momma 012 SIRE: FULL THROTTLE • DAM: ANGUS BD: SPRING 2000• OPEN READY TO FLUSH
Selling ½ Interest with the option to double the hammer price with no strings attached entire ownership. Opportunity is knocking here! To describe Yo Momma 012…Power and Grace. She’s huge bodied, extremely sound and awesome necked. Most important she can produce! Her first calf was Holtkamp’s Big Momma 23 the mother to Immortal and Walks on Water. Immortal is taking the country by storm and numerous high sellers have been reported and future show winners are on the horizon…he is
for real and here to stay. Walks on Water is a full brother to Immortal and he has unlimited upside potential…all I can say is watch for him. Yo Momma 012’s second calf was sired by Hannibal and was a high seller for Mitchel, Exline and Sandy for $14,500. She then produced some replacement heifer calves that show her production. Due to focusing on her daughter, we never flushed her until this fall when in her first flush she produced 18 No. 1 embryos. Think of the potential return on this investment. She will put your operation on the map and expand it with her returns. Be sure to check out her video and make the trip to see her in person. If soundness, look and power are in…SHE’S ALL IN!!!

The only purebred angus selling in this years sale. We bred her to the Horsley angus bull that was bought out of the Oklahoma State pen of three in Denver. This cow has made a lot of money for us. She is a great foundation female that any program could get started around. There is no doubt in my mind that whoever buys her won’t regret it…she will generate huge returns.
The Meyer 550 cows simply do their jobs. This young cow has nothing but lots of potential. She raised a nice calf her first time and bred back to Dr. Who. This calf would be a ¾ sib to the successful Martin heifer that was sold in our pasture sale as a calf.

Welcome!
Welcome to Rising Star III staying home. We are so excited to be hosting this sale at our main location outside of West Point. The first two sales were awesome and we enjoyed the Cedar Rapids location, however, we had a couple of issues to deal with. First, no transportation or risk of loss by being home. Second, with this year’s format of conducting the sale off of videos, we don’t have to worry about injuring our ring man, Dacota, like last years close call. All the cattle will be on display sale day for your viewing. Live bidding will be conducted in our show barn with videos playing for each lot. Liveauctions.tv will also be available to view or bid on-line. We are very excited. In reference to the cattle, look through the catalog and you decide. We decided to make this an extra special event so we are offering absolutely the most proven donors of our operations. I could go on forever on what these cattle have done for us and what they could do. Just call and I’d be happy to visit with you. It’s crazy to think, Kim and I started this operation with 4 purebred Angus cows, no pasture, and a house that sat empty for 8 years with old neglected buildings. Cows have brought us a long way, they are our livelihood. We learned long ago that great producers give great returns. A special thank you to all our friends in the cattle business and we really look forward to our new friends yet to meet. Call me or anyone associated with the sale with any questions. See you at the ranch on the 13th of December. Chad & Kim Holtkamp

Miss Beauty - Dam of Embryo Lots 14a & 14b
Owned by: Dave Lock family, Packwood, IA With great pride and excitement we are offering embryo’s out of Miss Beauty, the poster cow of the Rising Star II sale. She was purchased by Dave Lock family. It is so fun working with great people and great cows. Miss Beauty is simply breath taking with her body mass and long neck not to mention her beautiful blaze face. Everyone that I talked to regarding last years sale said she was even more impressive in person and that says a lot because she took a killer picture. This is a homerun mating that should work well. Tie into these and move to the front of the pack.

Jewel - Dam of Embryo Lot 15a
Jewel is simply awesome. She’s the mother of Predator and Alien (lot 62). She is moderate sized, powerfully hipped and one of the hairest cows that I’ve ever seen. She is proven and this mating just could produce another display bull.
Lot3 - #115bEmbryos SIRE: IMMORTAL DAM: MISS CUNIA
These Immortal calves are for real. I have received way too many calls from excited producers to think otherwise. Some are saying that their Immortal calves are the best they’ve ever raised and sold. This mating looks to me that it should work big time. The Miss Cunia cow is smooth and square and Miss Cunia - Dam of Embryo Lot 15b Immortal will bring the power. I’m offering someone the opportunity to share in on an upcoming success story.

Sometimes you just know those extra special cows right away. This is one of those cows. Apparently everyone who saw her at the Rising Star II sale knew it also but, only one could own her. Craig Conrad stepped up and added her to his program. Everyone keeps asking about Lil ‘E reassuring her popularity. It wasn’t easy to get Craig to share these genetics because he knows the real money is made on the live ones. Craig thanks for sharing. Immortal and Lil ‘E looks to be a big ticket mating. Here’s a direct daughter of Choo Choo. To make this Rising Star III extra special we needed to sell the extra special ones and here she is. As the year started out a year ago, this was the one I was planning on keeping and selling Dacota’s show heifer which is her flushmate. Emotions played apart in the decision to keep Catera (Dacota’s show heifer). Emotional decisions don’t always make the most financial solid decisions. Miss Express is moderate sized, absolutely positively one of the best built females made anywhere. So good-looking, correct and with the milk of her mother should make an awesome cow. Choo Choo’s track record is impressive. She herself was named the Reserve Supreme Heifer of the Iowa Beef Expo. Her daughter named Lexie sired by Lamborghini was named 4th overall at the Iowa Beef Expo. Another daughter by Hairy sold for $14,250 and went on to be the winningest heifer in Missouri this past summer. Choo Choo had Heat Wave steers sell for $11,750, $7,250 and $6,750. Another daughter was named champion commercial at the Badger Kickoff…plus many others.

Extra special opportunity here. It doesn’t make sense selling one like her. The only exception is I’m so proud of what 6X has done for our operation and will continue to do in the future. I want to keep telling his story. I knew when 6 X was a yearling he could be a great one. His first calves arrived and they were good! We sold Lil E (6X daughter) last year in
our Rising Star sale and she topped the bred heifers at $14,000. At that time, I thought he was awesome but then bred heifers out of him started calving and OH MY! 6X daughters are beautifully uddered and milk extremely well. Three 6X daughters had About Time calves and they sold in our pasture sale for $9500, $7500, and $6500. We had six different sires used on 6X daughters and each mating is in the top end of all the calves in our herd. Don’t get beat out on this one. Your only regret will be if you don’t win the bidding!

The easiest thing to say is for you to look at her picture and watch her video and you will agree with me that she is good. We had several chances to sell her as a show heifer. We were planning on keeping her to build around this great cow family. We’ve chosen to sell the best, come see for yourself. It’s probably not a wise long term decision for me but for you it looks good.
