Friday, January 29, 3pm At the farm • Dallas Center, IA Dear friends and cattle enthusiasts, On behalf of Kelly Cattle Company and Blueprint Cattle Company, I would like to extend a warm welcome to the 12th Annual Right Direction Female and Bull Sale. We take great pride in breeding and producing females and bulls that will add value to your program. It is truly humbling to see how many of our buyers come back and purchase additional genetics from us. We work hard to breed genetics that perform at a high level of profitability in our customers’ herds. Our goal is straightforward and simple. We strive to provide you with predictable, maternal genetics that are versatile in their kind and add to your operation’s bottom line profitability. We don’t breed for extremes, but rather breed for middle-of-the-road cattle that are easy fleshing, good-structured individuals that are heavily muscled, big bodied, and sound. We breed for that show ring look and for cattle that will lay down and have calves that are better than their individual mothers. These are genetics that have proven to be very profitable for our customers and for our own operations. I feel confident that we have a set of cattle in this sale that will fit yours needs, whether you are a club calf producer, have a purebred program, or are a commercial cattleman. These are time-tested genetics that have worked in many programs. I would like to thank everyone that is involved in making this operation work. It is great to have Wade Conover here on a day-to-day basis to help me make it through the grind of AIing, calving, and marketing our cattle. I am blessed to have our friends and family to guide us and truly be there for us. I mean that with all my heart. Please look in the back of the catalog for the featured success stories of our customers from their past year of sales. I am thrilled just how good of a job these females are doing for their new owners. As always, it is a pleasure to work with you and to help you with your purchasing needs. We thank you for your business and the interest in our program. Sincerely,
Ben Kelly

Breeding Guarantee Bulls: All bulls are guaranteed to be breeders. Bulls less than twelve (12) months of age, provided they have been properly cared for, are in good health and have not been noticeably injured since the sale, must be semen tested before being turned out with females or before reaching 15 months of age, whichever occurs sooner. If any bull is reported as a nonbreeder, the buyer must first comply with the following requirements: A) Purchaser must notify the seller of his dissatisfaction in writing within 4 months of sale date; and/or B) Purchaser may return the animal to the seller’s farm, at the purchaser’s expense, if in good condition and accompanied with a health certificate indicating that the animal is free from infectious and contagious disease. Seller is entitled to 1 month of trial following return of the animal, at which time he will have opportunity to determine the animal’s breeding ability. If at the end of 1 month, the seller is unable to prove the animal a sound breeder, the seller shall have the option to replace the animal with another of similar quality or refund the purchase price. Females: All females are guaranteed to breed. In order to hold the seller liable to this guarantee, the buyer must first comply with the requirements and procedures set forth. Exercising options for adjustments. The buyer must notify the seller of their dissatisfaction with an animal in writing within six months of the sale date. In the event an animal is claimed to be a nonbreeder, the buyer may return the animal to the seller’s farm, at the buyer’s expense, if in good condition and is accompanied with a health certificate indicating the animal is free of infectious and contagious disease. The seller is then entitled to two-month trial following return of the animal at which time he will have the opportunity to determine the animal’s breeding ability. If at the end of two months the seller is unable to prove the female a sound breeder, the seller shall have the option to replace the female with another of similar quality or refund of purchase price. O pen Female G uarantee: If a female sold as “open” proves to be with calf, the buyer may return the female to the farm of the seller for a refund of full purchase price or for another animal of similar quality. Bred Female G uarantee: If a female is sold under the conditions safe-in-calf and she proves not to be pregnant, the buyer may receive service of the bull to which she was previously served if available or service of another bull of the buyer’s choice owned by the seller, except in the case such female proves to be a nonbreeder. If a female is sold as “pasture bred” and proves not to be safe-in-calf, the buyer may return the female to the farm of the seller at the purchaser’s expense to be served to the bull previously used, if available, or to any bull made available by the seller and agreed upon by the purchaser. In all cases, any transportation expense shall be the expense of the buyer. Exception to G uarantee: Bred females sell guaranteed safe-in-calf the day of the sale and for ten days following the sale. In cases where the animal is fitted and shown for exhibition or is subjected to any hormonal or surgical reproductive techniques after the sale, guarantee is null and void and the terms of the breeding guarantee, if any, should be such as is agreed upon separately by the buyer and seller in writing. The aforementioned terms and conditions shall constitute a contract between the buyer and seller of each animal sold under these terms and shall be binding upon both. Animals resold following sale purchase constitute a separate transaction and the privileges and obligations of the original two parties connected thereto are not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale. Great AI Sires from our program. Give us a call to discuss your upcoming breeding plans!
Our customers are the backbone of Kelly Cattle Company. We appreciate everything they do for our operation, and we are proud to tell you about their successes with past Right Direction females. • Double A club calves sold a steer for $8,000 to Matt Lautner and a steer to Mark Copus for $12,500. They also raised the Lot 3 Monopoly that was an extreme high seller on Wade Rodgers sale.
• Dave Mente sold a heifer out of Polygraph and a Right Direction bred for $8,250, and she was a Division Champion at the Badger Kick-off and Reserve MO Market Heifer at last year’s Missouri AGR.
• Dave Mente purchased a $1,900 bred heifer on last year’s sale and sold her first calf by Dirty Harry for $8,250. He also sold a steer for $4,500 and a heifer for $5,500 from two past Right Direction Females. Their mamas cost $2,500 apiece.
• B & N Cattle purchased a $8,500 bred, and on her second flush to Point Taken she raised a heifer that brought $13,500, a heifer that brought $7,000, a steer that brought $10,250, and a steer that brought $5,250. That is $36,000 dollars worth of progeny from 1 flush of an $8,500 bred!
• Jeff Maas sold 2 calves for $2,500 each, out of two first calf heifers from last year’s sale.
• Scott Lee purchased a Meyer 734 daughter bred to Who for $2,500 and sold her first calf as a bred in last year’s sale for $6,100.
• Adam White raised CalvABull, which he sold 1/3 interest in for $15,000 and a Smooth Sailing heifer for $15,000 out of bred heifers from past sales that cost $2,750 and $3,000.
• Brad Boswell purchased a $4,250 McCarney bred and sold a $4,750 Point Taken heifer on Nate Ruby’s Sale.
This all happened in 2009! This isn’t 2 or 3 years-worth of sale history from our customers, and it just goes to show how productive and profitable these cattle can be.
Congratulations to all our customers, and we thank you for your business!
