Bull Sale welcome to our t h i r t y- f o u r t h A n n ua l
On behalf of those here at Pearson Cattle Co, we welcome you to our 34th annual sale. As you go through this catalog you will see we have a diversified genetic base of three breeds. It has been our experience that these compliment each other very well. Today, and in the future, a planned crossbreeding program has the greatest opportunity for profitability. The cattle offered in this sale have risen to the top, only the best 30% of all bull calves born are included in this sale lineup. We run our cows, just like you as commercial producers run yours. We expect our cows to calve unassisted, wean heavy offspring and breed back. No other breed can match Gelbvieh and Balancer for pounds of calf weaned per cow exposed. The most highly profitable cattle are those that have the best fertility and maternal traits.
j We thank you for your interest and past support, and feel free to call us anytime about the program and this sale offering. We like nothing better than to discuss the cattle business, your program and ours. Sincerely, The Pearsons

PCCI Mr roy 6131D
Balancer Spring Bull Calf Champion at the 2017 NWSS. This Homo Black, Homo Polled son of our resident herd sire Roy is a phenotypical standout when you take into account his percentage. Few bulls have the neck extension and placement that 6131 has. Some may have, but they will not have the overall body mass, structure, muscle design and performance this elite herd bull prospect has. Winning championships is nothing new for his mother 9034. The full sister to this bull was reserve division champion at the 2016 Nat’l Junior show. She then went on to be Reserve Champion at the South Dakota State Fair and was Champion in the Junior show. A herd bull prospect deluxe. 6131 has the potential to sire highly competitive show heifers as well as bulls and at the same time add strong maternal traits, performance and carcass traits. Mr Roy A664 on his first two calf crops has a weaning ratio of 103 and a yearling ratio of 102. To go along with that he has an average REA of 15.18 to ratio 103 and an IMF avg of 3.835 to ratio 106 outstanding when you realize Roy is a 75% Gelbvieh. Selling full interest and keeping a full ¼ semen interest.

Herd sire deluxe. 6100 started with a modest birth weight of 89 lbs and exploded to an adjusted weaning weight of 941 lbs. Homo Black and Homo Polled, only adds to the value of this exceptional son of Super Sport. From a structure, rib shape and muscle standpoint it would be hard to make a higher percentage bull much better. Add in the Bismark factor from his dam side and we know that his daughters will be terrific producers. A must find sale day!

Like his half brother, Lot 2, here again is a standout herd bull candidate. From a visual standpoint 6102 may have a touch more front end extension and body length. His one draw back for some will be his birth weight EPD. Time and space will not allow for the discussion of Genomic enhanced EPD’s, which is where the birth weight of 5.4 comes from, even though the parents are both 1.3 for birth weight. The last Momentum bull cataloged and after evaluating the others, the consistency of this sire group is very strong. No matter the dam’s pedigree, they all have a touch more growth, above average performance and are attractive to the eye. We all know the added value of a set of feeder calves that are real eye catchers. 6206 is a real attractive, well balanced bull with the performance, muscle design and soundness of structure to add value to a set of calves.

Sired by the great Angus sire SAV Pioneer 7301. When we first saw this bull at Forbes Gelbvieh and then analyzed his data, we knew we needed to make an effort to own him. It’s hard to find bulls with his phenotype, growth curve and balanced set of EPD’s as Troy has. Then to have him as a calving ease bull, only adds to his value as a breeding bull. Will again be getting calves from heifers, but because of his present weight and size, he will be moved onto an elite set of cows. We are retaining a son to replace him for use on heifers.

An exceptional son of the Connealy In Focus bull. The EPD’s for this bull are generated from the AGA data base because we have more offspring recorded from his sire there than the Angus Association. In addition these EPD’s are more accurate, according to the geneticist, because they are the result of a multi-breed tabulation. We used the Connealy sire on first calf heifers, until his mature size got too big, so believe 6172 would work on heifers. His mother, also has a negative birth weight EPD. 6002 has been a standout since the very start and always catches one’s eye first when you walk in the bull pen. His eye catching appearance is the result of the tremendous muscle expression, balance, body type and structure he possesses. When you study this bull, ask yourself what a set of feeder cattle, made like him would look like. He his a prime example of what to expect using the three breeds offered in this sale in a crossbreeding program.

The Maternal Edge on Efficiency Gelbvieh cows excel in
Stayability according to research conducted at Colorado State University.
IN TODAY’S CATTLE MARKET, WITH TIGHT PROFIT MARGINS, MATERNAL EFFICIENCY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN EVER. A COW THAT CONSUMES LESS, PRODUCES MORE AND STAYS IN THE HERD LONGER EQUATES TO MORE MONEY IN YOUR POCKET.

Gelbvieh x Angus or Red Angus MAKING THE GRADE
“Balancer® cattle that we have had the opportunity to feed have stayed healthy throughout the feeding period, they’ve gone on feed fast, they’ve performed very well and they’ve hung up on the rail as good as any that we’ve fed. In 2015 we had 100% Choice or better, 5% went Prime, and 53% went to branded beef programs with upper two-thirds choice criteria. We would be happy to take cattle like that all year long.” - Jesse Landin McClymont Feedyard, Holdrege, NE
ADDING THE POUNDS DELIVERING THE VALUE “Gelbvieh-influenced cattle provide added carcass weight and at the end of the day we’re still paid on pounds. They also add ribeye, more gaining ability and feed efficiency, all things that are highly valuable.” -Bill Tucker Tucker Family Farms, Amherst, VA
“I really like the Balancer® for their rate of gain and their muscling. I do buy some linebred Angus and when I compare them to my Balancers there is a definite difference in rate of gain and muscling. I watch my marbling very closely and I see no effect of lower quality grade. With so much linebreeding going on, we lose that heterosis which is that extra little kick that we don’t have to do anything, it’s just there!” -Scott Hamilton Hamilton Farms, Hitchcock, SD

This bull has had a dominant show career being named Champion Maine Anjou bull at all the majors during his show career Including the 2016 Denver Stock Show and 2016 Fort Worth Stock show, However, he is much more than just a “Show Bull” The first calves we raised out of this bull included a Champion High Maine Heifer at the Yard Show at the Denver Stock show and a Champion Maine Anjou heifer at the Watertown Winter Farm Show. After the first Calf crop of AI cows we were given the Opportunity by Bushy Park Farms to run him natural. The results speak for themselves. We took another heifer to Denver and she was named Champion in the Yard Sale Heifer show. Our pen of 3 bulls won their class and the lead bull, Maine Event, was purchased by Lautner Farms.

Both Neal and I agreed that we should have pictured this bull. This one is really made right. Make sure you check out the video on this bull he will not disappoint. He has some old school genetics down on the cow side of his pedigree and this cow just really worked well mated to BPF Middle Man bull.

This bull was one of my pasture favorites all summer. He continues to develop into one of the most complete bulls in the offering. If you like your bulls with that extra length of body and plenty of real thickness behind you better take a serious look at this one. If you sell them by the pound check out this bulls 711# adjusted weaning weight. This bull has that extra look and style that will certainly produce some fancy feeder cattle or replacement females. If you like a bull backed by really good cow the 1084 cow is one of our best.

We purchased the mother of this bull as a bred heifer a couple years ago from Melroe Farms. She is just a picture perfect SAV Bismarck daughter out of their 503U donor. This is her first mating to the Momentum son we purchased from them in their 2015 bull sale. One of the younger bulls in the offering but if you are looking for that “hybrid advantage” this bull calf sure has it. This bull ranks in the top 4% of the Chi Breed for Weaning Weight EPD and in the top 3% for Yearling Weight EPD. I see fancy feeder steers and replacement heifers in your future if you own this bull.

Here is something you just don’t get everywhere, a brockle faced High percent Maine Anjou bull. If you like them with a splash of chrome this bull is just what your looking for. He is sired by the calving ease specialist No Worries. We sampled him in our AI program and we really like the way this bull has developed. The mother of this bull is a direct daughter of the 240T donor. Cows matter and this bull is backed by a couple good ones.
