COREY PAVIN Guest of Honor Corey Pavin is an American professional golfer who is a 15-time PGA Tour winner, a U.S. Open Champion in 1995 and Captain for the 2010 Ryder Cup U.S. team. He spent over 150 weeks in the top-10 of the Official World Golf Ranking between 1986 and 1997 winning onn the European Tour, the Japan Golf Tour, the PGA Tour Australasia and in 2012 on the PGA Champions Tour.
Born in Oxnard California, Corey Pavin quickly established himself in the sport, since his first PGA Tour victory at the 1984 Houston Coca-Cola Open, he won at least one event on either the PGA Tour or the international tour nearly every year for the next decade, and topped PGA Tour’s money list in 1991, that same year he was also named the PGA Player of the Year. He played on three Ryder Cup teams in 1991, 1993 and 1995. In 2002 he was named to the Ventura County Sports Hall of Fame.
On July 27, 2006, during the first round of what would become his 15th tour title, Pavin broke the record for the fewest number of strokes needed to complete nine holes at a PGA Tour event, with an 8-under par score of 26. His 36-hole total of 125 also tied the record for fewest shots taken in the first 36 holes of a PGA Tour event held by Tom Lehman, Mark Calcavecchia, and Tiger Woods. Corey is presently playing on the PGA
Corey Pavin es un golfista profesional americano en el PGA Tour. Pasó más de 150 semanas en el top 10 del Ranking de Golf Mundial Oficial entre 1986 y 1997. Originario de Oxnard, California, Pavin asistió a UCLA y empezó su carrera dentro del mundo del golf profesional en 1982. Rápidamente se estableció en el deporte, con tres victorias internacionales en 1983, y su primera victoria del PGA Tour en la Apertura del Houston Coca-Cola en 1984. G OLF T OURNAMENT Torneo de Golf
Each team compromises of 2 players with USGA or Mexican Golf Federation handicaps representing their local Club. The Inaugural St Regis Golf Challenge is a 3 day competition on the beautiful and challenging Punta Mita Courses. The Challenge includes 3 different formats which are all explained below. Each Teams consists of 2 players each of whom should have a USGA or Mexican Golf Federation handicap index from their local Club. Our special guest Former US Open Winner , 15 Time PGA Winner and Ryder Cup Captain Corey Pavin will be offering daily clinics while we also have some special Big Break Style Challenges – so all in all a unique and exclusive event for all Golfers to enjoy , learn and live the Punta Mita Dream. A maximum handicap of 30 will be applied for any golfer with a Handicap higher than 30. Ladies will play from the red tees ; Men Seniors (above 70) white tees; Men : 0 to 9.9 Handicap Index play from the Gold Tees on Pacifico ; 10 to 19.9 Handicap index from the Blue Tees and 20 to 30 Handicap Index from the White Tees. For the Scramble on Bahia : Pros from the Black Tees ; 0 to 14.9 Handicap Index from the Blue Tees and 15 to 30 Handicap Index from the White Tees along with Seniors & Ladies from the Red Tees. The Tournament will have 3 Divisions : Ladies , Mixed & Mens and some fun Big Break type challenges. Each day a continental breakfast is on the Driving range as from 7:30am and we have a Shot Gun Tee Off at 8:30am.
El St. Regis Golf Challenge es una competencia de tres días en los maravillosos campos de Punta Mita. El Challenge incluye 3 diferentes formatos los cuales son explicados abajo. Cada equipo esta conformado por 2 jugadores quienes deberán tener handicap index de acuerdo a la USGA o a la Federación Mexicana de Golf de sus Clubs locales. Nuestro invitado especial Ex – Ganador del US Open, 15 veces ganador de la PGA y Capitan de la Copa Ryder Corey Pavin estará ofreciendo clínicas diarias mientras se tienen algunos desafíos especiales Big Break Style – así que será un evento único y exclusivo para todos los jugadores de golf en que se podrá disfrutar, aprender y vivir el sueño de Punta Mita. Un handicap máximo de 30 será aplicado para cualquier golfista con un handicap mayor a 30. Mujeres jugarán los Tee rojos; Hombres mayores de 70 Tees blancos; Hombres con handicap de 0 a 9.9 jugarán los Tee dorados en Pacífico; Handicap 10 a 19.9 jugarán Tees azules y hándicap de 20 a 30 jugarán Tees blancos. Para el Scrammble en Bahía: Pros serán Tees negros; handicap 0 a 14.9 jugaran Tees azules y handicap 15 a 30 jugarán Tees blancos y los Seniors y Mujeres Tee Rojos. Cada día será servido en el Campo de Práctica desayuno continental a las 7:30am y el Shot Gun se realizará a las 8:30am.
Day 1 Pacifico – Team 2 Ball best ball Stroke Play (90% of handicap applied to each team member) The lower of the two net scores is recorded after each hole. Dots on the scorecard represent strokes given to each player on each hole. A player must not have more than fourteen clubs. Rule 4-4
Day 2 – Bahia Course Individual Medal Play Net Score. 100% of Handicap applies and play ball as it lies. Each individuals net score will count toward total 2 Ball score
Day 3 – Pacífico Course – 2 Man Team Net Scramble (35% of A player handicap + 15% of B player handicap will be final Gross Score to determine Net Score) After each shot, the best of the two shots is selected and both players play from that spot, until the ball is holed. You may lift, clean, and place the ball within one putter head length on the green and one club length everywhere else on the course without improving your position. Example: You may not use one club-length improve your position in the rough by moving your ball to the fairway. One team score is recorded per hole. Each player must have a Minimum of 4 drives selected. Handicaps - For the SCRAMBLE FORMAT ONLY – The maximum difference permitted between 2 player´s handicaps is 10. Should the difference be more than 10, the higher handicap (B player) will be adjusted to the lower handicap (A player) of the team.

Día 3 – Campo Pacífico – Equipo de 2 hombres Net Scramble (35% del handicap del jugador A +15% del hándicap del jugador B será el Puntaje Bruto para determinar el Puntaje Neto) Después de cada golpe, el mejor de los dos golpes es seleccionado y ambos jugadores juegan desde el spot hasta que la bola es insertada en el hoyo. Usted Puede levantar, limpiar y colocar la bola dentro de un putter en el green y un club de longitud en donde sea dentro del campo sin mejorar su posición. Ejemplo: Usted no puede usar un palo de distancia, mejorar su posición moviendo la bola hacia el fairway. Una puntación del equipo de registra por hoyo Cada jugador debe de tener un mínimo de 4 drives seleccionados. Un jugador deberá de salir con la pelota jugada desde el teeing ground, a menos que la bola esté perdida o fuera de límites. Regla 15-1 Handicaps – Para el FORMATO SCRAMBLE UNICAMENTE – La diferencia máxima permitida entre los dos jugadores en hándicap de 10. Si la diferencia es mayor a 10, el mayor hándicap (jugador B) se ajustará para el hándicap más bajo (jugador A) del equipo. Handicaps de los golfistas deberán ser verificables en la Casa Club. Un handicap máximo de 30 es permitido.
