Editorial Welcome to the debut issue of The Supercar Kids magazine - an online magazine put together by a group of supercar fans from all over the world, driven by a passion for all things fast. We each come from different backgrounds in the global supercar scene. Working together, we aim to bring you the very best of the supercar world through our own photo shoots and give you an insight into the most exclusive events and motor shows. We cover the latest and greatest supercar and luxury news in the world, compiling compelling content and unique features into a free monthly online magazine. In this issue we bring you this month’s latest supercar news from around the world, including a report on this past summer’s goldRush Rally, and have look at one of this year’s most popular Gumball 3000 teams, Team Galag. Audi’s R8 e-tron Sets Electric Car Record on the Nürburgring In the race to fuse performance with environmental responsibility, few companies are as far ahead as Audi. Ever since Audi’s Le Mans-ready e-tron outlasted Toyota’s LMP1, and won the 24-hour Le Mans, Audi has had the wind at their backs. Recently, their R8 e-tron dominated all previous electric record holders on the EƺƌďƵƌŐƌŝŶŐ͘ tŝƚŚ ĂŶ ŝŵƉƌĞƐƐŝǀĞ ƟŵĞ of 08:09.09, the R8 e-tron rivals the lap ƟŵĞƐ ŽĨ ƚŚĞ Dt Dϲ ĂŶĚ ƵĚŝ͛Ɛ ŽǁŶ RS4 - not bad for zero emmisions. In recent years we have seen more and more exotic supercars filling up the streets outside some of the most exclusive shops, hotels and restaurants. Some of them come from places such as Monaco and Switzerland, however the majority of them are owned by wealthy businessmen from the Gulf States of Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Dubai. They tend to come between the months of June and August and usually come out to play in the evening; they can be seen driving around Knightsbridge and South Kensington, usually in a convoy of a few cars at a time. The easiest way to spot some of these guys is by the extreme choice of colours like a Turqoise Lamborghini Murcielago LP670-4 SV or a matte pink Rolls Royce Phantom Coupe.

Some of the cars, however, still come in their ‘ready from factory’ colours. That doesn’t take away from the fact that they are among the rarest of supercars on the planet. They can be seen parked in and around Harrods and Sloane Street. In recent years these cars have received loads of attention from supercar enthusiasts and the media. Many videos from the area have been uploaded to YouTube which show what some of these guys get up to. Gurps Kandola of The Supercar Kids was lucky enough to get a ride in one of two white Ferrari’s on a clear evening around Knightsbridge. Gurps said, “It was awesome, we weren’t going too fast but the whole adrenaline rush was just indescribable!” These two Ferrari’s, one a Ferrari 458 Italia and the other a Ferrari California, are owned by two students, Adam and Turki. When we asked Adam what it was that attracted him to the prancing horse, he replied, “Ive always had a thing for cars since I was a kid - the beauty, the contours, the rumble of that V8 sitting behind me - it’s a priceless soundtrack that will never I will never get bored of!” To these Arabs, money is no barrier. Yes, we have supercars in London, but not to this extent. The Arab supercar enthusiasts are open to anything from changing to flashier colours to getting it modified by tuning companies such as Hamann of Germany. We asked Paul Gardner of KIK Customs whether this has had an influence on his business. His reply was, “In terms of keeping up with the trends from different continents I would say yes, its always handy to know what people are doing around the globe. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. It may not be everyone’s choice, but I guess if one wants to stand out, then why not? You are seeing more and more of the English cars adapting these colours on their cars which is great for us at KIK Customs as we are able to cater for the U.K market.” To get an idea of how much money means to some of these guys, let’s look back a few years. In 2008, a Sheikh from Qatar put his black and orange lamborghini Murcielago LP640 on a flight to London Heathrow for an oil check! This round trip cost the owner a whopping £23,000. The service alone, when done at an approved dealer in Qatar, would cost no more than £4,000. How’s that for first-class service? Article by Gurps Kandola

Tushek Renovatio T-500 Slovenia’s Wild Card



With only 30 being built worldwide at £300,000 each, the new Tushek Renovatio T500 is a definite must-have for any would-be supercar collection. So far, those who have already been lucky enough to try it out have praised the model for its sleekness and agility. Weighing only 1,090kg one might compare it to the equally compact 1.4-litre Ford Fiesta. In reality however, no Ford Fiesta has ever been built to match a top speed of 192mph powered by a mid-mounted 450horsepower Audi V8. Tushek’s design for the Renovatio is based on that of the K1 Attack Roadster of Slovakia. Evidently they share certain traits when it comes to bodywork but what comes under the hood is significantly different. Tushek is responsible for the majority of the engineering, and as a result, the car will surge from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. Not bad for a motorsport debut.


The T500 has earned itself the rather prestigious title of “the ultimate supercar” following its debut at the 2012 Top Marques Monaco Show in April. If it drives even half as well as it looks, we expect there to be some truth to this title. Besides its impressive engine power, Tushek have not failed to ensure this supercar catches the eyes of the masses. The T500 boasts such stylish features as an adjustable carbon fibre rear wing, 19” aluminium forged wheels, scissor doors and a flat rear deck resembling that of a Porsche Carrera GT. Once you’ve been convinced to take a closer look, the interior suede trim, power steering and carbon fibre power brakes should be enough to convince you of this car’s true superiority. For all you driving ballad fanatics, Tushek have thoughtfully provided you with a CD player to take advantage of, along with full air conditioning for those Sunday drives that carry on a bit longer than expected.

Wilton Classic and Supercars 2012

Early August saw the arrival of Wilton Classic And Supercars 2012, an event showcasing all sorts of super and rare cars at Lord Pembroke’s estate in the West of England. Kicking o early on a Sunday morning, the event consists of a supercar convoy before private time for the owners on the famous Gurston Down hillclimb course before the cars roar over to Wilton House and arrive as a parade before the eyes of 10,000 visitors. The convoy consisted of a vast variety of spectacular cars, 250 to be precise, including Pagani Zondas, Koenigseggs, Bugattis, and many Ferraris and Lamborghinis to name a few. McLaren were involved in sponsoring the event so there was no shortage of their new MP4-12Cs on display.

This year’s audience saw the appearance of the popular crowd favourite, BugARTi, an art car based on the Bugatti Veyron by Ian Cook of PopBangColour, to promote the event. Along with the BugARTi, other displays included the Dick Lovett Ferrari & Maserati display, various car club stands, and the new Aston Martin V12 Zagato on show, gaining a lot of attention.

If such a fabulous gathering of cars wasn't enough, there was also an amazing air display featuring a Lynx helicopter. We wonder how all the cars would have looked from all the way up there! London Motor Museum

Our idea of paradise would be a garage full of supercars, all shapes and sizes, new and old, and all in one place. We seem to have found paradise right on our doorstep: The London Motor Museum, home to over 100 rare and unique supercar models. With American and European classic cars ranging from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s, hot rods, and famous cars from everyone’s favourite films such as the Batmobile and the Delorean (Back to the Future), the collection at London Motor Museum is sure to have at least one of your favourites. The museum’s Founder, Elo, stars in MTV Slips and is a regular participant in the Gumball 3000, in which he first drove with Gumball founder Maximillion Cooper in 1999, the debut year alongside celebrity drivers Billy Zane, Jason Priestly and Danni Minogue. After an early career in modelling and fashion design, Elo is now focused on his passion for collecting remarkable cars which have been lovingly restored with their own individual modifications, making each vehicle truly unique. London Motor Museum frequently holds a ‘paddock-style’ viewing for the public to drool over, often featuring the latest and greatest of the fastest cars in the world, as well as some unique one-offs. Each paddock features a variety of the world‘s rarest cars from Koenigseggs to Zondas. The sound of all of these cars revving their mighty engines can be heard across London. MONACO Playground of the rich and famous

Monaco may be geographically tiny but it punches well above its weight when it comes to supercars roaring through the winding hillside streets.


The principality is small enough for one to casually stroll the complete length, meandering past some of the World's largest yachts lined up between streets of hyper-luxury shops; Gucci, Channel, Louis Vuitton, it's all here. Spend a few minutes at the famous Cafe de Paris on the East side of Place du Casino and your jaw will drop in awe at the fine machinery rolling before your eyes. The wealthy flock from around Europe, and even the world, showcasing their cars on the Monogascue streets for all to admire. From the latest and greatest supercars to the legends of the past, nothing takes you by surprise in Monaco. It's not uncommon to coincidentally see two Bugatti Veyrons parked beside oneanother, a super-rare Pagani or Koenigsegg tootling through town, the absolute latest models you've only just heard about from Ferrari and Lamborghini arriving with their first customers, or anything else on four-wheels you can think of. Immediately the concept of driving supercars around the tiny, mountainous roads makes little sense, however just 10 minutes from the centre of town you can reach the fabulous driving roads up to Eze or La Turbie, in the French hills looking down on Monaco.




Even crawling the route of the Formula 1 Grand Prix, taking in most of the town as you go can be quite exciting - the roars of the engines through the tunnel, the tight switch-back of the Fairmont hairpin; it's all open to the public. Traditionally quite reserved, the Riviera is becoming more and more appealing to people from Arabic nations, with many hotels in nearby Cannes being snapped up by royal families and other wealthy businessmen. The knock-on result of this is an inux of supercars previously seen predominantly in London now to be found on the French coast. Whether it's a customised bright pink Lamborghini Aventador or a totally-unique Gemballa MIG-U1 - a version of the Ferrari Enzo created by the late Uwe Gemballa - you can see fairly extraordinary vehicles cruising around at any time of the year. For a supercar fan, Monaco is a dream come true, if you don't mind braving face as you order a small Coca-Cola for ₏7 it is certainly possible to enjoy quite a show, especially in the summer months when cars from far and wide descend upon the town. the sound of petrol and thundering pistons echoes through the golden California hillside – the goldRush Rally is in full swing.
