The Chamber's Leadership Hall County (LHC) program was founded in 1983 and offers current and potential leaders the opportunity to learn the interrelated economic, government, socio-cultural and educational issues of the community. Participants develop knowledge of the community through a series of sessions covering arts, education, health and social services, city, county and state governments, judicial and economic development. Currently, there are over 869 graduates of Leadership Hall County, with the 38th class now underway. Leadership Hall County has become a highly regarded group of professionals, and graduates continue to be involved in many areas of volunteer and civic service in our community. The Wisdom Project is a Vision 2030 initiative, developed and presented by the Chamber and Brenau University’s Center for Lifetime Study. The Wisdom Project prepares individuals age 55 and older to use their wisdom and talents in creative ways through action and advocacy. Wisdom Project participants experience a dynamic, multi-faceted view of Gainesville and Hall County, explore local issues and opportunities, and engage with community leaders. Graduates of the program become members of the Wisdom Keepers of Hall County, who plan for subsequent programs and advocacy projects. Wisdom Keepers have been integral parts of the growth and enhancement of Gainesville and Hall County. We are fortunate to have such valuable partnerships with our educational professionals and institutions along with outstanding Chamber programs and resources. As we focus on continued learning and building a world-class labor pool, I hope each of us will strive to BE BETTER TOMORROW THAN YOU ARE TODAY !

Sardis Enrichment School Students (Floor, L-R): Molly Santillano, Kate Rosales, Ellie Wilis, Mandy Allman, Kate Stillerman, Jackson Newton. (Chairs, L-R): Havalyn Ingram, Charlie Mize, Yuritsa Bermudez, Lola Harris. Through a partnership with Sardis Enrichment School, The Times, especially under the guidance of Shannon Casas, Director of Content, and Amanda Cameron, Community Engagement Coordinator, has encouraged young budding journalists to read words critically and differently, as The Times staff urges students to consider how they write and the importance of reporting news to the community. The Times has hosted a tour of the facility as well as a quarterly publication in the newspaper. The partnership continues to evolve as students brainstorm ways to improve communication and envision what journalism may be like in the future. gainesvilletimes.com
