Serving Georgia’s Children and Families since 1985 Children come to Eagle Ranch when their worlds have been turned upside down. Stability has been shaken and the carefree fun of being a kid is often replaced with anxiety about the future. The childhood their families envisioned is at risk of being lost. One of Georgia’s largest non-profit residential children’s programs, Eagle Ranch is designed to help make life better for children and families going through a crisis. Our 310-acre campus includes 10 residential homes for children, a SACS-accredited school, therapeutic equine program, and numerous activities. The integrated program is built on Christian principles, modeling homelife, emphasizing education, promoting spiritual growth and incorporating multi-faceted counseling. While boys and girls live on our campus in Flowery Branch, Georgia, their families stay actively involved, working toward the child’s return home. Our aim is for renewal: of the child’s individual purpose and identity; of positive relationships among family members; and of hope for a more promising future for those we serve. INSPIRATION THROUGH CHARITABLE EFFORTS Being charitable is rewarding, not only to those on the receiving end of others’ good deeds but also for those doing the giving. Research conducted by the National Institutes of Health found participants who chose to donate a portion of money they were provided activated pleasure centers in the brain. Doing something positive can be uplifting, and being charitable helps others in need. 10 | 2018 HALL COUNTY NON-PROFIT GUIDE | Friends of the Times
