DID You KNOW? Monthly friendly advice for our Reunion neighbors about covenants issues & guidelines

Well, here it is May with all the lovely blossoms and colors surrounding us. Just as nature provides our community with abundant beauty, it is up to us as residents to keep our homes and the properties around them tidy and in compliance with Reunion Regulations and Policies. To that end, here is some information that the Covenants’ Committee would like to share with you.

Each family that bought into Reunion understood from the beginning that we were an HOA community and, even if you rent here and did not go through the purchasing process, you should have been told about Covenants regulations and you must also abide. This said, it is our intention keep you as informed as possible about the standards and any changes that might occur. For this month we are focusing on mailboxes. The following should be observed. All mailboxes must: • be kept painted in high gloss black • have gold numbers – not silver • be in good working order • have the designated lettering as approved by the HOA (see Reunion Website for details)

First, and foremost, we are a group of volunteers whose sole purpose is to make the neighborhood a great place to live. Without You might want to know that our local ACE Hardware has both the regulations that you were presented with upon your purchase, we would have uncontrolled decision making pertaining to house colors, the approved black and gold colors. You just have to tell them that you fencing, lawn maintenance, parking, etc. You can imagine the chaos. live in Reunion.

EMPTY NESTERS’ have breakfast at Brennan’s Following closely on the heels of the Mardi Gras season in New Orleans, the Empty Nester group gathered on the evening of March 18th to enjoy a uniquely themed evening of “Breakfast at Brennan’s”. “Breakfast at Brennan’s” was the brain child of co-hostesses Laura Baker, Von Erickson and Ellen Kirk. Centered on a definite New Orleans Mardi Gras aura, the event featured breakfast fare food items provided by various group members. With The Meeting House adorned with gala purple table clothes and other a la Mardi Gras touches, the guests in attendance were draped with the all too famous (infamous, maybe?) strings of beads that are so closely associated with the revelry of the Louisiana city. With a hearty and happy beginning, attendees were greeted by their hostesses for the evening with complimentary Mimosas to whet their thirst and to create the initial mood of the night. From there it was typical Empty Nester camaraderie and good hearted fellowship followed by an excellent, though a bit unique, array of food for all to sample and enjoy. “Breakfast at Brennan’s” was definitely well received by the appetites and taste buds of those in attendance.

have the saran ball and to begin unwrapping it to attempt to retrieve as many goodies as possible. To the unwrapper’s right was a person with a pair of dice who was rolling the dice while the unwrapper was diligently attempting to harvest goodies. Once the dice roller rolled doubles (two three, two sixes, etc.), the saran ball passed to the roller and the roller passed the dice to the person to his right. This process continued until the final goody was obtained from the ball and the ball was totally unwound. The person at the end of the game with the most accumulated goodies was the winner of the grand prize. (Clue: A tightly wound saran ball is NOT easy to unwind.) Also, it might be noted that one of the most coveted goodies available for harvesting were the several home pregnancy test kits that were included. Never, I guess, too late to be careful. The game, to put it in simple terms, was a blast…as was the evening. Many thanks, ladies for your original thinking to put together such a fun filled event.

The entertainment of the evening was no less unique than was the theme and menu as the Empty Nesters were introduced to a game of Saran Wrap Ball. Hopefully, this writer will be able to explain the gist of the game, like so: The hostesses had pre-prepared large balls of tightly wrapped strips and lengths of plastic wrap. Encased at different layers of the wrap were various goodies. The object of the game was for one person to
