DID You KNOW?
Monthly friendly advice for our Reunion neighbors about covenants issues & guidelines
As a follow-up to our ongoing conversations about trash cans and their proper placement, all residence should be aware that Yellow Cards (warning – 2 weeks grace period to amend the infraction) followed by Orange Cards (fine notice – to weeks to resolve the situation entirely) will be strictly adhered to pertaining to garbage can housing. Please read the Trash Can Enclosure Guidelines below added as an amendment: In order to keep trashcans outside hidden from view of the street, neighbors, and the golf course, the following guidelines have been suggested: • Shrubbery may be planted to conceal the trash cans so long as the shrubbery • A fence may be installed so long as the fence is 1. Painted the color of the house, the trim, or the current backyard fence 1. Is an evergreen that will be thick enough to hide the trash cans year round 2. Is taller than the trash cans 2. Is approved with a modification request 3. Is approved with a modification request AS GENERAL REMINDERS: • It is spring-cleaning time! Check to see that shrubs are groomed after the winter, your landscaping meets HOA guidelines, your mailboxes are in proper working order and the painting and numbers are refreshed, and your lawn has been treated to prevent weed and dysfunctional growth. • ALL vehicles must be parked going in the grain of traffic flow. The Hall County Sheriff Department is in their right to issue violators fines for parking in the wrong direction. It is the obligation of the homeowner to tell visitors and workers that they must park in accordance with state regulations. • There is a leash law that must be adhered to that requires all dogs to be on a leash when leaving their owners property. This is not a Reunion regulation, it is state mandated. • Every individual driving a golf cart must have a current and valid driver’s license. No underage drivers (even with adult supervision) can legally operate a golf cart. If an accident should occur, the consequence could be devastating. As always, the Covenants Committee is composed of volunteers whose only objective is to keep our community clean, maintain property values, and remain free of dangerous conditions.

NESTER THEATRE PRESENTS
THE MUSIC MAN
The weekend of April 21-22 marked the culmination of months of rehearsals, memorization and team effort as the theatrical troupe of Reunion’s Empty Nesters unveiled their production of “The Music Man – Our Way”. Delivering the premiere showing to Empty Nester members only on Saturday night and an encore presentation on Sunday afternoon to family and friends of the production cast and crew, the resident thespians played successfully to two full house events with The Meeting House becoming River City, Iowa. Under the direction of Merridee Michelsen the show co-starred Don Smith (Professor Harold Hill) and Joanne Giel (Marian, the Librarian) with memorable performances by 23 other Empty Nester members. Merridee was able to skillfully edit and rewrite the original script of the Broadway award winning show to reduce it from a scripted two and a half hour production to one hour presentation and to adapt the action to the confines of The Meeting House. In keeping with the original script, Merridee began her navigation of the audience with the train car where traveling salesmen George Hasaka, Ken Michelsen and Dick Speakman heard fellow traveling salesman Charlie (Glenn Rush) tell of the exploits of the infamous Harold Hill. From there you were transported to River City Center to be introduced to the town gossips (the Cheepers), Alma, Emma, Ethel and Maud (played by Liz Rush, Loretta Summerville, Rosemarie Wood and Kathy Sposa, respectively). As the story unfolded the audience became familiar with town librarian, Marian Paroo along with her mother, Mrs. Paroo (Peggy Reiland) and her brother, Winthrop (Ted Sawyer). Of course there was the crotchety Mayor of River City (Mike Reiland) along with his School Board (Tom Benson, Gary Hodges, Jack Sposa and Wendell Peterson). You also met a number of the more prominent town’s people in Amaryllis (Danna Lowery) who was sweet on Winthrop; Zaneeta and Gracie ( Judy Smith and Karen Szwast) who were the daughters of the Mayor; the Mayor’s wife, Eulalie Shinn (Barbara Hasaka); and River City “bad boy” Tommy (Gary Szwast) who had a crush on Zaneeta but was kept in line by the town Constable (Hal Beaver). Whew!! “The Music Man – Our Way” was not unlike any other successful stage production in that there was a requirement of considerable behind the scenes support. Many thanks to the following: Music & Vocal Coach – Jenni Stancil Props – Gail Sawyer Refreshments - Irene Speakman, Carolyn Notheis, Sue Dennis, Susan Bagwell Marianne Benson & Rebecca Hagler Program – Jon Summerville Crew – Jack Ofsharick, John Santorelli, Gail & Tom Dibble, Annmarie & Poncho Torres and Donna & Jerry Smith. A very special thank you goes out to Peggy Reiland without whose skill and imagination as a seamstress the costumes for the show would not have had the flair they deserved. The Nester Theatre Group also expresses thanks to Cannon Berrong for his generous contribution to the show which helped the production remain within budget. This was the seventh theatrical endeavor undertaken by the Empty Nester group and follows on the heels of “Grease – Our Way”, “Damn Yankees – Our Way”, “Bye, Bye Birdie – Our Way” along with the original “Western Murder Mystery Theatre” and two variety shows (“Cabaret Night” and “Songs, Skits and Smiles”). It seems that each production is more fun and fulfilling than the one before. Hopefully the show will go on!! 6
