DID You KNOW?

Monthly friendly advice for our Reunion neighbors about covenants issues & guidelines

The Covenants’ Committee is back at work after their summer vacation. As you know, we are your friends and neighbors who truly care about the appearance and upkeep of our community to ensure one of the largest investments you will make. With that in mind, we want to once again thank all who try very hard to abide by the covenant guidelines as they appear on our Reunion Website and to keep traffic violations to a minimum (speed, parking in the direction of traffic, and no illegal drivers of golf carts).

Generally fence companies have a minimum (approximately $800). As per the committee’s request, Pennington is willing to install trashcan privacy screening for $595 (Reunion Residents only). This represents a significant savings and might be well worth the cost if removing the cans from your garage is desired. Simply submit your modification form (which will be approved because Pennington understands the details pertaining to that construction) and your fencing will be installed. In the meantime, even while waiting for the finished product, no trashcans can be in sight from any angle of the street or golf course. Violation cards will be issued and non-compliance can accrue daily fines.

A sincere thanks goes to all that revived your mailboxes; however, there are many that remain in need of refreshing. Please attend to this as soon as possible. Also, check the guidelines for trashcans. As much as it pains us to report, many homeowners and renters are still leaving garbage cans out in clear view when this is an absolute violation and has been discussed many times over. The good news is that Pennington Fence, a local and reliable company, has given us an official proposal for privacy screening fencing that meets with our modifications approval and will satisfy your need to keep trashcans out of the garage.

We recognize that you value our efforts and energy to keeping Reunion one of the most sought after communities in Hall County. The Covenants Committee is comprised of dedicated volunteers who do not make HOA rules, but simply monitor the community to make certain that all who live here follow the regulations that you were made aware of at the time of your purchase. We aim to keep Reunion the pristine neighborhood it is just as other committees strive to oversee the pool, social life, safety, and the Meeting House agendas.

Tips for Students:

Tips for Drivers: • Prepare to stop when a s bus has its overhead yellow lights flashing • Always stay in sight of the bus driver • Stop at least 20 feet away for buses when red lights are flashing • Don’t hurry off the bus; check traffic first • Slow down in or near school and residential areas • Don’t go back to the bus after exiting • Watch for children between parked cars and other objects

With school back in full swing, it’s more important than ever to practice school bus safety!

Know the Law. Obey the law. On average, each school bus is illegally passed once every day. According to the NHTSA, 21 children under the age of 19 die every year as pedestrians getting on and off buses.

The new law does not replace the existing law that allows law enforcement to issue tickets resulting in up to $1,000 fine, up to 6 points on driving record, and a mandatory court appearance if caught illegally passing a stopped school bus.

Ticket will be issued to the owner of the vehicle that illegally passed a school bus.

Saturday, September 29 10am-4pm Meeting House Pruitt & Dee Dee Henderson 6716 Baybrook Place Congrats to Pruitt and Dee Dee Henderson for this month’s Yard of the Month. This yard doesn't jump out and scream at you, but it is tight, elegant and deserving. The great smelling Gardenias behind the small border rocks are one of my favorites. Furthermore, the liriope coupled with the perfectly trimmed loropetalum are a nice touch. The beautiful Japanese maple and the potted hibiscus in the driveway are also nice. The downspout rain chains just really made it all come together. Congratulations to the Henderson family again because they are your Winner Winner Chicken Dinner for August.

Association NEWS

Reunion The Reunion Community Care Team exists to support neighbors with short term needs for meals during life’s ups and downs. If you have an illness or injury, new baby, loss, or an unexpected event, please let us know so we can help! There are several amazing cooks in the neighborhood that are ready and willing to help a neighbor in need. We currently need: 1. Volunteers to be area captains, to be a point of contact for the homes around you and coordinate a meal train sign-up as needs arise.

2. Volunteers to make and deliver meals to neighbors in need. You will get an email (or a post in our private Facebook group) with a link to the Meal Train sign-up. Simply sign up for meals as it is convenient. If you want to know more or are interested in joining the group, contact Kendra Stephenson at kdsjts3@yahoo.com or 770-655-4696. You may also search for our Facebook Group “Reunion Community Care Team” and request membership.
