Prepared for the Amen Family November 25, 2020
Campaign focuses on Competitiveness and Security • Modernizing and re-imagining existing spaces within the school have been successful. • Maximized every inch of available space in the buildings. • Current facility is not adequately meeting today’s or future student’s needs. • Improved security is a top priority. The proposed capital project addresses: • Security • Space • STEAM needs • Scheduling • Admissions 1
North Building Master Plan
Technology Suite •
• • • •
Tech Suite includes an Innovation Hub aka iHub which will serve as a classroom for courses such as Computer Science and Robotics, and a DropIn Room which will be open to students throughout the day to work on projects. Both spaces are available for naming. Learning Space has been defined as the Third Teacher. Smaller scale portable maker technologies already being used at Ursuline. Space would be used immediately and effectively. Integrating the iHub and curriculum is a focal point in our Strategic Plan. Exterior View of the new building. The Technology Suite is on the far left. The Innovation Hub and Drop-In Room are on schedule to open to students in early November 2020.

Technology Suite – iHub and Drop-In Room
The new Tech Suite includes the Innovation Hub where classes such as Computer Science, Robotics and Fashion Engineering will be held, as well as a lab studio for students to gather to work on projects throughout the day. 4
New Entranceway •
Opportunity to implement new security measures.
5
Kulsar – McCarthy Lobby and Welcome Center • •
New space more accurately reflects who we are as a school. Student space, multiple collaborative workspaces and Admissions Suite all needed.
6
High-Tech Media Conference Center •
Class, student and faculty meeting, collaboration and rehearsal space. “The possibilities this new Conference Center present are limitless. I am so excited that our Model UN team will have the use of this space. In addition to having a more professional setting for our delegates to practice in, we will be able to record and review our sessions to figure out the most effective ways to communicate ideas and grab people’s attention in terms of body language, diction and so much more. Wherever a student’s academic interests may lie, all students can benefit from learning to command the attention of a conference room.” Cecelia Visco ’21
7
Christina Jun Murphy ’22 Student Commons • •
Much needed dining and workspace. Fewer lunch periods allow for greater individual student schedule flexibility.
The Christina Jun Murphy Commons was instrumental in our ability to re-open school in September. The additional space allows students to maintain social distancing during the critical lunch periods.

Campaign Success to Date •
Building on the Tradition of Innovation #TUSTimeIsNow has raised $7.2M in cash and pledges, including three seven-figure pledges.
•
The new learning and social spaces have provided many Ursuline donors the opportunity to add their names or the name(s) of a loved one to spaces or programs that are particularly meaningful. There are also many places on campus, unrelated to the Innovation Campaign, that have been secured by Campaign donors because they more accurately reflect their family’s interests. The decision to contribute to a Campaign is very personal and so we look to find the right “fit” for all who support this important effort in such generous ways.
•
Several additional leadership level commitments are currently under consideration.

Our Request
The Gillin – Lefever family has pledged a very generous $50,000 to the Innovation Campaign. When discussing possible naming opportunities, Ann and Rick Lefever, and Pat Gillin thought it would be wonderful to name the Ursuline Tennis Courts in memory of your devoted wife and mother, Ann Amen. The Amen family tennis legacy is very strong at Ursuline. In fact, it was during Tricia’s years in the early eighties that Ursuline Tennis became known as a force, and Regina and Kerry kept the family tradition alive. There was no more devoted mother than Ann Amen, who was a fixture at the girls’ matches. Ursuline’s tennis courts are a crowning glory of the campus – set amidst the trees and along a path lined with teak benches – adjacent to the senior lot and Kelly Mac Field. Rights to the naming of the three tennis courts is $100,000. With the Gillin – Lefever pledge already designated to the Tennis Courts, we respectfully request that you consider “matching” their generosity with your own pledge of $50,000 to be paid over a three-year period so that we can make The Ann Amen Tennis Center a reality. 14
