From Our President
Dear Members of The Ursuline School Community,
As we celebrate our 125th year, we are enormously grateful for the remarkable generosity of so many of you, our Ursuline donors. Your kind support of The Ursuline School is present in each and every step we take to deliver on our shared mission of educating, inspiring, and empowering young women in the Ursuline tradition. Your faith in our mission and your steadfast belief in the limitless potential of our students lead us to amazing places as we seek new ways to help young women navigate a changing world with character and confidence. In doing so, we prepare our graduates to go forth and serve the community and the world at large in the spirit of St. Angela Merici.
Your generous contributions to the Innovation Campaign have ensured excellence in programming and operations throughout the year, impacting every student and contributing to her ultimate success. Our emphasis on the holistic development of every girl runs deep at Ursuline and is reflected in the programs that embrace the timeless Core Values of
an Ursuline education. Thanks to you, our generous benefactors, each new investment in technology, professional learning, and campus improvement results in measurable student success, today, tomorrow, and beyond. Together, we are building Ursuline to new heights. We can look back at our 125 years with pride and look ahead with great confidence, enthusiasm, and hope. Know that it is by your loyalty and generosity to the Annual Fund and to the Innovation Campaign that The Ursuline School will continue to shine, allowing us to offer innovative programs, unique experiences, and world-class facilities that would not be possible through tuition revenue alone.
I am deeply grateful for all you have done and continue to do, to keep the spirit of Serviam strong. Throughout the pages of this Donor Report, we share stories about current students who have been inspired by your loving generosity. Thanks to you, these students have seen up close what giving looks like and have felt first-hand the joy it can bring. Your generosity inspires them in a variety of meaningful ways. It is further evidence that our rich Ursuline tradition of excellence is at the heart of who we are, what we do, and why we are here, for 125 years and counting.
Gratefully yours,
Dr. Colleen Melnyk P’18 President

THE URSULINE SCHOOL Celebrating 125 Years 4
From Our Board Chair
Dear Members of the Ursuline School Community,
Happy 125th to The Ursuline School! Like the iconic marble composition notebook used by every generation of Ursuline students, The Ursuline School is rooted in the traditions that are the foundation of our 125 Years of Excellence. We are steadfast in our mission of educating young women with a respect for our history, while growing and transforming, just like the marble notebook has, to meet the needs of the students of today and the future.
On behalf of our current and future students, I thank all of you who have generously contributed to the 2021-22 Annual Fund. Your contributions provided critical funding for a myriad of programs that benefitted every student. The success of the Annual Fund again helped shrink the gap between the actual cost of educating a current student and tuition, which assisted in our goal to keep Ursuline as affordable as possible for our families while providing the excellence that is the hallmark of an Ursuline education.
Our three-year building project is now complete. We are deeply indebted to the generous Innovation Campaign donors who made this transformative space a reality for those who learn and work in our school. It’s
not too late to join this distinctive leadership group by donating to the Innovation Campaign or purchasing a personalized hexagon in the iHub. We welcome you to take a visit next time you’re in the area!
Until then, I encourage you to check out School News on the Ursuline website. You will relish in the many varied accomplishments of our students and learn how they embody Ursuline’s Core Values. Our National Merit scholars, Latin scholars, budding entrepreneurs, science researchers, and Global Scholars help to fortify our academic mission. You will see how our students fulfill their passion for Serviam at soup kitchens and community gardens, and through school-wide initiatives like The Cereal Effect and Thanksgiving Turkey Collection. You will find that our school community makes us proud in new and exciting ways year after year. Our golf team won the NY state championship, and our cheerleaders were crowned national champions, among other team and individual athletic accomplishments! Ursuline artists, actors, musicians, and vocalists displayed their talents and earned local and national
recognition. Our students broadened their worldviews and cultural knowledge and appreciation during jazz, gospel, and holiday concerts with world-renowned musicians, and during assemblies with prominent speakers on critical topics that impact our students and the world around them. And with faith and spiritual development at the foundation of all we do, our Masses, retreats, and spiritual programs serve to deepen each student’s relationship with God and her ties to St. Angela Merici and the Ursulines.
We are so proud of The Ursuline School! Thank you again for your generosity and I look forward to exciting years ahead.
All my best,
Sheila Sohr P’12 Chair, Board of Trustees

From Our Director of Philanthropy
Dear Generous Benefactors, 125 Years of Excellence! And what an excellent year of celebration and success it was thanks to this exceptional community.
The Annual Fund performed with vigor, especially those critical unrestricted dollars that support operating expenses and keep tuition increases to a minimum. Our 8th Day of Giving was most successful, raising nearly $170,000. Following the words of St. Angela, who asks us to “reflect that in reality you have a greater need to serve the poor than they have of your service,” for a third year, it became CROWDS4TUS
AND4OTHERS
as we shared a portion of the funds raised with our neighbors at HOPE and Community Service Associates.
Scholarship fundraising enjoyed a tremendous year with nearly $800,000 to support talented Ursuline students. I’d like to acknowledge the many alumnae who made reunion year gifts to support class scholarships or the Alumnae Association Scholarship that
helps keep Ursuline education “in the family” for daughters, granddaughters and nieces of alumnae! It is indeed a sisterhood for life.
It is with enormous gratitude and sheer joy that I share that by fiscal year-end we were within $200,000 of successfully completing the $8.5 million Innovation Campaign, the largest effort in school history! These spaces are now integral to the academic and social experience of each and every student and support the transformational Ursuline education.
“I love working with 3D pens. They are a preliminary 3D printer, but more hands-on. They help us see in real-time how something might have to be built, and help with spatial awareness. Using 3D pens gives us a reason to think about and realize why prior planning is so important.”
—Frances ‘22
The Mothers’ Auxiliary’s events were back with trademark style. Their success resulted in a $100,000 gift to the Innovation Campaign! We are very grateful to our partners at the Louise Este Bruce Foundation for their generous grant to fund equipment, professional development and special programming that helped to bring the iHub to life.
It was exhilarating getting back on the road to meet with alumnae! Trips to Chicago, South Bend, Northern Virginia and Winston-
Salem led to reconnections and important conversations. Ursuline alumnae want to stay in touch and network. To that end, we have invested in Almabase, a platform that will easily support these efforts. If you haven’t done so already, please check it out and register!
Hats off to all of you, our generous donors, for making these things and so much more happen for our amazing students!
Ever grateful,

The Power and Possibilities of Giving Music from The Maloney Society
Live music fills the Kulsar & McCarthy Lobby each day thanks to the generosity of Carol Fallon Maloney ‘68 and her husband Peter. A vintage Steinway grand piano, which originally belonged to Peter’s mother Jeanne Cawley Maloney ‘40, now graces the welcoming space to the great pleasure of Ursuline students, faculty, and staff.
“This is music to my ears,” says Carol with a smile. She explained that the pristine instrument had been in the family since her mother-in-law Jeanne was a young girl. Jeanne‘s father purchased the piano for the family and all the girls took lessons. The extended family, which includes eight Ursuline alums, spent countless hours over many decades practicing and playing the piano.
After years of bringing song and joy to the Maloney family, Carol and Peter decided that the piano needed a new home. Carol put it simply, “A piano needs to get played.” Ursuline, with its successful completion of the new Kulsar & McCarthy Lobby, came to mind. The lobby provides a beautifully appointed, light-filled, expansive new stage for the Steinway. Since March 2022, it stands in place, poised and ready to inspire the next
generation of Ursuline students. To Carol and Peter‘s delight, it didn‘t take long!
Sophomore Isabella Wuestenhoefer ‘25 enthusiastically credits the Steinway as an inspiration. “Music is meant to be shared,” she offers. “When I played the piano for the first time here at Ursuline, it felt as though a whole new facet of music was unlocked for me. I was floored by the sheer quality of the sound and how wonderful it makes even the simplest pieces sound.”
Her enjoyment sparked an idea. Isabella and a group of fellow students formed The Maloney Society, a student club dedicated to playing live music at school events which results in numerous service opportunities. For Isabella, connecting her own Godgiven gift for music with her commitment to Serviam felt natural and she didn‘t stop there.
THE URSULINE SCHOOL Celebrating 125 Years 8
Thanks to a suggestion by Sr. Pat Schifini OSU, Isabella now extends her passion for music beyond The Ursuline School to the New Rochelle-based organization, Songcatchers Inc. The group, dedicated to reaching peace through music, provides affordable access to high-quality music education, training, and enrichment for local children and their families. Isabella‘s eyes light up as she talks about her experience. “We‘re dedicated to teaching underprivileged children how to play instruments,” she explains. Piano is her specialty.
This comes as no surprise to Mike Delaney, Ursuline security officer, whose close proximity to the lobby grants him a frontrow seat to the impromptu piano performances that erupt after school each day. “The girls seem to lose themselves in the music” he beams. “Sometimes when I‘m on the phone, callers will ask what I‘m listening to. They‘re so impressed when I tell them it‘s our students playing the piano!” Mike is quick to point out that he sees first-hand how the piano helps to draw some students out of their comfort zone and share their love of music with the rest of us. He notes that if it weren‘t for the Maloney family‘s generous gift, some students may never come across an instrument like this,
much less be encouraged and invited to play it.
Even His Eminence Timothy Cardinal Dolan took notice during his September 15, 2022 visit to celebrate Ursuline‘s 125th academic year. The lobby was crowded with visitors, alumnae, students, faculty, and staff. After the Cardinal blessed the beautiful cross that overlooks the new space, he turned his attention to the musical trio at the piano. The Cardinal was heard to say, “Spectacular!”
The entire Ursuline community is deeply grateful for the Maloney family‘s decision to share one of their most beloved treasures with the place that helped to shape their matriarch — Jeanne Cawley Maloney ‘40, daughter, sister, mother, motherin-law, grandmother, and proud Ursuline alumna. For their part, Carol and Peter Maloney are awash with joy. “For us, it‘s all about the students and we are thrilled to hear that today‘s Ursuline girls are enjoying the piano!” Carol enthused. Not only is their thoughtful donation a heartfelt and enduring way to honor Jeanne, but it also serves as a telling reminder of the power of giving and its limitless possibilities for generations to come.

“When I think about my time at Ursuline it makes my heart happy. The teachers and the friends I met there let me be me and that was a great gift. The adults who helped along the way believed in me long before I believed in myself; I am so thankful for them laying the groundwork for me to eventually become the best version of myself. These days, as an aunt and elementary school librarian, I try to emulate that.”

The Profound Impact of Paying it Forward
2022 President‘s Dinner
For the past ten years, Ursuline‘s President‘s Dinner has provided the opportunity to stop and think about the many ways our generous benefactors continue to make a difference at The Ursuline School. This year held special significance as we marked a decade of giving thanks to those who collectively made the choice to pay it forward to the direct benefit of Ursuline students. The combined value of that impact is immeasurable.
In her opening remarks on Thursday, November 3, Ursuline president, Dr. Colleen Melnyk summed it up by encouraging attendees to take a look around the room. “Just look and see our many students here who have flourished at The Ursuline School - thanks to your kind support!”
The attentive group of roughly 70 donors took that moment to survey the room. Seated among them were student musicians, National Merit Scholars, student leaders, scholarship recipients, and four seniors each of whom shared how Ursuline has set a course for their futures thanks to the generous support of our benefactors.
Dr. Melnyk continued by announcing that 60% of Annual Fund gifts over this past year were directed toward scholarships and then went on to recognize Ursuline‘s Class of ‘23 National Merit Scholars. These students earned
recognition based on their performance on the 2021 PSAT, scoring in the top percentages of all 1.5 million juniors across the country who took the exam. The room burst into applause as fourteen students stood up to be recognized, including two National Merit Semi-finalists, six Commended Scholars, six National Hispanic Merit Scholars, and two National African-American Merit Scholars.
THE URSULINE SCHOOL Celebrating 125 Years 16
Throughout the evening, Ursuline students interacted with donors, eagerly sharing personal stories about their latest academic success, service experience, and ongoing faith and spiritual development. The energy at the Wykagyl Country Club was palpable as students, interspersed at tables throughout the dining room, gave donors a close-up look at the brilliance and diversity of our student body. “I‘m so happy to be here tonight,” said Shashi Massey ‘24, one of the many accomplished students who took part in the event. “Being part of the Ursuline family means the world to me!”
Senior Olivia Manger was the first student to greet many invited guests. During the cocktail hour, she stood ready and eager to discuss her passion for computer science, coding, and animation. Her face lit up as she welcomed donors and answered questions about her live display which included a video animation of coffee spilling into a cup and the intricate coding that makes it look so seamless. She also provided “show and tell” items that donors could touch and hold. Perhaps the most interesting item was an impressive flow chart she designed to illustrate how to build your own computer. Olivia speaks confidently about the process as she built her own personal computer last year with the guidance and encouragement of Mr. David Lorden, Computer Science department chair. “Mr. Lorden also gave me the opportunity to pursue more classes outside Ursuline” she explains. During the summer of 2022, she completed the prestigious Accelerate Pre-college Program, Interaction and Games in
Extended Reality
(XR), at Northeastern University where she found inspiration amid a highly accomplished international group of like-minded students. Undoubtedly, Ursuline‘s incredible new Innovation Hub, or iHub, provided the launching pad for Olivia‘s endeavors in the field of
17 Annual Donor Report 2022 THE URSULINE SCHOOL
Computer Science and has helped her find her footing as she prepares for college and beyond.
The iHub is also familiar territory for Alexa Melendez ‘23 who shared her story of the opportunities she had at Ursuline to grow her passion for engineering and STEAM and how donors have directly impacted her success. “I went from watching this new space being built in sophomore year to implementing the facilities and technology into the Engineering Club.” She went on to explain the significance of the innovative space and the people who work there. Alexa thanked her Engineering teacher and mentor, Mr. John Monacelli, for his constant support and friendship which led her to pursue a challenging summer program in Biomedical Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology. “The research that I conducted could assist in patient diagnosis to design footwear aiding in balance and comfort. Overall,” she concluded, “the opportunities, teachers, and new facilities at Ursuline have helped me to pursue my passions.” She credits Ursuline as she declares that she is “always looking to learn and explore while taking the skills, leadership, and education that I have received at
Ursuline on to my next chapter.” Alexa credits her early involvement in the Engineering Club as a game-changer as she learned how to work together with other students to complete Design Thinking tasks.
Students working together and helping one another is a daily occurrence at Ursuline. Seniors Jenna Cain and Jane Connelly spoke about their experiences as two of the four co-leaders of the new Writing Center. The brainchild of Ms. Adrianna Robertson, a beloved eleventh-grade English teacher, the Center is a place where students can work one-on-one with peer tutors to strengthen and build writing skills. The girls were proud to report that the Center is staffed by current members of Ursuline‘s Serviam Chapter of the National English Honor
THE URSULINE SCHOOL Celebrating 125 Years 18
Society, which now boasts over 100 active members. Jane describes their shared vision for the future where she hopes the Writing Center will stand at the heart of the Ursuline School. “One of our far-reaching goals is to have a designated space within the school building where our student writers can gather permanently. We hope for a recognizable and prominent space that illustrates the importance of literary arts in the school culture.”
As the evening wound down, an overwhelming sense of gratitude filled the air. Students, thankful for the many gifts and opportunities provided by Ursuline donors, had the chance to see up close the very people who have supported them directly through generous giving to The Ursuline School. It is impossible to predict the ultimate combination of opportunities afforded to these students, but one thing is for certain. Ursuline students, on their journey to become educated, inspired, and empowered, have also come to understand and appreciate the profound impact of paying it forward.

NAMES OF DONORS
All donations received after August 31, 2022, will be included in next year‘s Annual Donor Report. We have carefully reviewed the names of donors listed in this report. If your name has been omitted, misspelled or incorrectly listed, please accept our sincere apology and bring the error to our attention so that we may correct our records. Kindly contact Advancement Coordinator Nina Garcia at garcian@ursulinenewrochelle.org or 914-500-6283.
The Annual Fund is the most important fundraising effort at any institution; Ursuline is no exception. Support for the Annual Fund provides funding that directly impacts each student by enhancing academic programming, retaining our superb faculty, and ensuring that an Ursuline education is accessible to an economically diverse population. A strong Annual Fund also allows us to react quickly to address the needs of our physical plant and support enrichment opportunities such as securing outstanding speakers.
We are deeply grateful to those listed on the following pages for their support. You are investing wisely!

The Ursuline Prayer
Gracious God,
Let us remain in harmony, united together all of one heart and one will.
Let us be bound to one another by the bond of love, respecting each other, helping each other, and bearing with each other in Jesus Christ.
For if we try to be like this, without any doubt, the Lord God will be in our midst. Amen.
St. Angela, watch over us all our days.
St. Ursula, protect our future.

27 Annual Donor Report 2022 THE URSULINE SCHOOL
CROWDS4TUS AND 4OTHERS 2022 was one for the record books! Our 8th annual 25-hour crowdfunding event on April 4 -5, 2022 surpassed the results of all prior years. This demonstrates the impact of many small gifts adding up, our commitment to Serviam, and our important community bonds.
We thank the 1,019 donors who Joined the Crowd. Together, we raised $168,456. We directed 25% of all monies raised to HOPE Community Services in New Rochelle (HOPE) and Community Service Associates, Inc. (C.S.A.) in Mount Vernon. That meant that $126,342 was allocated to the immediate operations of the school to benefit all students and $42,114 was donated to HOPE and C.S.A. food pantries. In the past two years, we raised
We kicked off the 25-hour crowdfunding event with a pep rally on the JB Commons featuring our award-winning cheerleaders, remarks from president, Dr. Colleen Melnyk, and a message from a student leader.
approximately $50,000 for these two local organizations and we were thrilled to raise even more this year.
THE URSULINE SCHOOL Celebrating 125 Years 28
We thank members of the Class of ‘78 who, alongside Ursuline students, prepared sandwiches for HOPE Community Services.
The Crowd of donors contributed locally and around the globe. The Crowd represented 55 colleges, 33 U.S. states, as well as Scotland, Taiwan, and Germany.
On the evening of April 4, alumnae gathered at Rye Grill & Bar while Ursuline community members gathered at North End Tavern to donate and track results on the Action Center.
“We are grateful for your generosity,” said Dr. Colleen Melnyk. “Your donations allow us to enhance the educational experience of every Ursuline student and live our mission of Serviam. Thank you so much for Joining the Crowd!”

PARENT ORGANIZATIONS STAND AND DELIVER
Through the years, parent organizations have played a vital role in building community at The Ursuline School. Working with administration, faculty, and staff, Ursuline’s Mothers’ Auxiliary and Fathers’ Club sponsor treasured annual events where parents and students can make memories, have some fun, and make a difference. In the 2021-22 school year, the Mothers’ Auxiliary raised $145,000 with events like the Annual Fashion Show and the Koala Sweepstakes and Auction. Each fall, the Fathers’ Club organizes the highly anticipated Golf Outing and the Father-Daughter Dance, raising a total of $25,720 in 2021-22. We are deeply grateful to our devoted parent volunteers for their extraordinary leadership, hard work, and fundraising efforts in support of Ursuline students.

Building Lifelong Connections
Benefactor Breakfast 2022
It was the last day of classes in the 2021-22 school year. Before the start of final exams, the school community took time out for the Benefactor Breakfast, the culmination of the year‘s Scholarship Stewardship Program. Current and soon-to-be Ursuline students, as well as recent graduates, met with generous donors in the Kulsar & McCarthy Lobby for breakfast and conversation. The donors, who so
generously support Ursuline‘s ever-growing portfolio of privately-funded scholarships, enjoyed the opportunity to see in person the growing number of scholarship recipients and learn first hand how the Scholarship Stewardship Program continues to make a difference for scholarship recipients.
The Ursuline school com-
munity is truly blessed by the ongoing support and generosity of many engaged alumnae, families, faculty, and staff — current and former — with the common goal of supporting current students. These gracious donors believe so strongly in our school mission, its formative education, and the lifelong connections that Ursuline fosters, that they faithfully support scholarship opportunities
THE URSULINE SCHOOL Celebrating 125 Years 38
for current and future Ursuline girls. Participation in the Scholarship Stewardship Program is a meaningful way to support and further our mission of educating, inspiring, and empowering students by cultivating lifelong learning, spiritual growth, integrity, respect for all, and dedication to Serviam
Special thanks to all of our benefactors who recognize students for their character, achievement, and varied contributions to the school community. Undoubtedly, donors to the Scholarship Stewardship Program are building lifelong connections and helping to ensure ongoing success at The Ursuline School.

51 Annual Donor Report 2022 THE URSULINE SCHOOL
The True Spirit of Serviam
The Cereal Effect
Millions of American schoolchildren go hungry every day and Ursuline students, in the true spirit of Serviam, are committed to doing something about it. The harsh reality that childhood hunger touches our local community first became a focus for Ursuline students in the fall of 2021 when representatives of HOPE Community Services in New Rochelle (HOPE) reported a significant spike in requests for breakfast cereal each September. In response, a three person student-led group stepped to the forefront to take decisive action. Together, they proposed “The Cereal Effect,” a schoolwide service initiative to combat hunger in our local community.
Led by Olivia Goncalves ‘22, Lena Gilardi ‘24, and Caralyn LoConte ‘25, the entire school community came together to donate nearly 1,100 boxes of cereal to HOPE. Students
and staff members carefully lined up box after cereal box throughout the building. After the last box was placed, they toppled the first box and watched as every box fell, creating a domino effect. It was a powerful visual for all to see as it helps to show the interconnectivity of the Ursuline community and how one positive decision or action can lead to another resulting in meaningful change.
In September 2022, junior Lena Gilardi and sophomore Caralyn LoConte picked up the reins and launched the second Annual Cereal Effect with the goal to collect 1,250 boxes of cereal, a nod to Ursuline‘s 125th academic year. On Wednesday, September 14, students lined up box after box of cereal donations in a similar fashion. Once again, students cheered as
THE URSULINE SCHOOL Celebrating 125 Years 52
the boxes fell over like dominos and cheered even louder when they learned they had surpassed their goal, donating a total of 1,538 boxes for distribution to local families in need through HOPE.
Now bolstered by two consecutive years of unparalleled success, Ursuline students are already looking ahead to next year.
“The Cereal Effect” serves as a welcome reminder that the spirit of Serviam is alive and well at The Ursuline School. Perhaps senior Alexis Carson put it best when she said, “I really think this fundraiser is amazing! It is going to help a lot of families in need and shows what our school is all about. It‘s about Serviam!”

“I give to Ursuline because of what Ursuline gave me. To me, it‘s giving back for the gifts that I got and paying it forward for the next generation. I am so grateful that I am part of the Ursuline community — Ursuline gave me lifelong friends, a great education and prepared me for life beyond. The bonds that I formed at an all-girl Catholic school were so special to me and I give back so that others can have the same experiences and opportunities that I had. To others who are considering giving back, I believe it‘s not about the amount, it‘s about the concept. Even if it‘s a small amount, once you get in the habit of giving, it becomes part of who you are, and it affects lives in a real and impactful way.”

“I‘m so grateful for my Ursuline experience and the friends I made during my time there. I continue to give back to Ursuline so girls younger than I am can also have that great experience and be able to make lifelong friends and connections. “As an alum, I give every year as a way to honor all the faculty and staff at TUS who have made a positive impact on my life. From my time there, I was lucky enough to have teachers like Mr. DeLuca, Mr. Dalby, Ms. Summa, Ms. Hubay, Mrs. Hanson, and many more. I give to show gratitude to these teachers and to acknowledge the efforts of the staff behind the scenes, like my mom, who work to make Ursuline even better.”

“I am a big believer in giving back, especially to a place like Ursuline where I lived through some of my most influential years. Attending Ursuline helped shape me into the woman I am today and I am forever grateful for this. During my four years at Ursuline, I learned a lot in my formal education as well as valuable life lessons and values. Naturally, I want current and future students to have the same opportunities as me, if not more! It is because of this that I think that if you are able to, you should give back!”

Innovation Campaign Fundraising Update
New Social and Learning Spaces Transform Student Life
One important goal of the Innovation Campaign was to create spaces that reflected the high level of teaching and learning happening at Ursuline. Mission accomplished!
This transformative capital campaign added 8,000 square feet of learning, collaborating, and social spaces critical to supporting our Core Values. An additional 2.000 square feet was renovated for maximum efficiency and to better meet the needs of today‘s students, faculty, and staff.
The Innovation Hub and Drop-In Room are centers for Design Thinking — places for students to immerse themselves in inventing, building, and problem solving. New courses find students identifying societal problems, brainstorming solutions, and building them. Middle school students participated in workshops conducted by Manhattanville College‘s Center Design
Thinking to actively engage students in interdisciplinary critical thinking exercises that also addressed world problems. And these incredible spaces are also ideal for our alumnae to return to speak to current students about their careers in STEAM — in person or virtually!
Diplomacy, Global Learning, and now Financial Literacy come to life in the High Tech Media Conference Center where every student becomes comfortable taking a seat at the table. Whether drafting position papers, zooming with a sister school across the world, or mastering Bloomberg Market Concepts, students are inspired by the sophisticated setting and rise
to the opportunities it offers to learn from and to connect with one another.
The beautiful and tech-ready Christina Jun Murphy Student Commons was created entirely for students and with their needs in mind. In addition to being a perfect location for group projects or a game of chess, this is where lifelong friendships are forged! Texting is replaced by conversation, camaraderie, and laughter.
Multiple collaborative work spaces throughout the building offer top-notch technology and, once again, create a professional environment that will prepare students well for college and beyond.
Increased security and functionality are priorities that were also met. Creating safe, comfortable places for students to gather before, during, and
THE URSULINE SCHOOL Celebrating 125 Years 70
after the school day have improved student life dramatically.
While much was anticipated with the Campaign construction, there were countless unexpected gifts! In just one example, the new Kulsar & McCarthy Lobby is transformed into a concert hall each day during lunch periods and after school. Its wonderful acoustics amplify the sounds of a spectacular Steinway piano gifted to the school so that our talented students might enjoy collaborating, improvising, and expressing themselves through music.
The $8.5 million capital campaign was a game-changer for Ursuline and our students continue to benefit daily from the extraordinary opportunities that it affords. We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many generous donors who made gifts or pledges this year. We are also enormously grateful to some of our most generous and loyal donors who stepped up with additional donations to the Campaign as we looked to successfully complete the effort by December 31, 2022.
The Ursuline School gratefully acknowledges the very generous Innovation Campaign donors during the 2021-22 fiscal year.

Leave Your Mark!
Personalized hexagons are a fantastic way to recognize your connection to Ursuline — to honor a current student or graduate, pay tribute to a mother, wife, or friend, or to celebrate yourself! Substantial and stylish, hexagons are permanently installed on the walls of the iHub. Large hexagons are priced at $5,000 and can include one name or a family name. Small hexagons cost $2,500 and can include one name only. Hexagons can be paid in installments. If you have been considering a purchase — as a graduation or birthday gift, in honor or in memory of a family member, to commemorate a reunion — please make today the day you take action by contacting Cathy Fay McCarthy ‘84, Director of Philanthropy, at cathfmcc@ursulinenewrohelle.org or at (914) 636-5169.

A wonderful element of the Innovation Campaign are the meaningful naming opportunities available at a wide range of price points. For example, just $2,500 earns you a personalized small hexagon permanently installed on the walls of the Innovation Hub. A larger option is available at $5,000. There is still room to add your hexagon. Hexagons can be paid in full or in installments over a year and make fantastic birthday, holiday or graduation gifts! Thank you to those who purchased hexagons over the last year. You are definitely leaving your mark on Ursuline!
