Family loses home

This home on Rocky Hill Road was destroyed by fire Wednesday, Nov. 29. Lee and Jami Yette of 2881 Rocky Hill Road lost everything including three pets and their recently purchased Christmas presents. Lee’s mother, who lives next door, heard a loud “pop” about 7 a.m. and went to investigate. Her screams woke Lee who leaped through flames to exit the building. Wife Jami was at work and their three children, ages 1 1/2, 4 and 6, were at grandma’s at the time. Lee is a manager at Taco Bell. The Dennard Volunteer Fire Department was prompt to respond. A GoFundMe Account has been set up in Lee's mom's name: Kay Yette.

Injury slows editor Due to modern technology, both electronic and medical, this edition of The Voice of Van Buren County comes to you from a hospital room in Conway, Voice editor Anita Tucker, graceful as always, tripped over a Roomba automatic vacuum cleaner, in a dark room and hit the concrete floor knee first. The incident occurred last Monday

and the resulting broken femur appears to be well on its way to mending after surgery. All this to say if we’ve missed some stories and events and the paper looks skimpy this week, we apologize. We will do our best and hope to be back to normal soon. In the meantime, if you have stories and photos to share, please e-mail them to voiceeditor@artelco. com.
