A large number of hay bales, stored on farm land on Ballantyne Road, were slashed open over the period of one week. If you have any information about this please contact me at the police station.

There have been a number of domestic disturbances reported to us. In some cases people have been charged and will appear before the court at a later date. Please remember there are many organisations that can help couples and families through difficult times. Their details can be found in the local directories or on the internet.

A local man was found growing his own cannabis.

Although I admire his gardening abilities it is still illegal to grow your own. He has now been charged with the offence.

An assault on a local 18 year old male on the 5th May was reported to us. Enquiries are being made and charges should follow very soon.

Over the weekend a construction site container was broken into on Kane Road. The break in was discovered before the offenders could steal anything. If you have any information about this please contact Constable Mel Twyman.

The local Police and Volunteer Search and Rescue teams have had one incident to deal with this week. A 'tramper' was found after spending an unexpected night on Corner Peak and was thankful for her sleeping bag. This shows how good preparation and the right equipment can help you in times of need. Mount Aspiring Road Update Weather permitting Council should have stage one sealing and asphalting completed by the end of this week. Stage one - including water and sewer main extensions and seal, footpath and streetlighting improvements - is to be completed prior to the ski season from Rippon Vineyard to Far Horizon.

The contractor will continue to work on trenching and water pipe work from Far Horizon toward Meadowstone Drive until the beginning of the ski season, at which point all trenches will be sealed for the winter. This PHDQV WKHUH LV OLNHO\ WR EH WUDIÂżF PDQDJHPHQW LQ SODFH XQWLO WKH HQG RI June.

The contractor will re-start work on stage two as early as possible after the winter, ideally in September.
