This year to celebrate the arrival of Spring, the Club will hold it’s Annual Spring Flower and Photographic Show on 27 September at the Presbyterian Church Hall on Tenby Street.
The Club’s ledgendary sales table will also be open from 2.30pm where veggie seedlings, manure teas, seeds, potted plants and home grown produce are to be found, all at knockdown prices.
The competition is not just open to Garden Club members, everyone in the Wanaka district is encouraged to enter their Spring blooms. Categories include Daffodils, Camellias, Rhododendrons and many other Spring flowers. For the more creative folk out there, the decorative category makes a welcome return to the schedule. This includes a class for beginners Class in a Glass and an open section - Evening Elegance.
Entries to all classes open at 9.30am and close at 11.30am. There is a $5 fee for all of your entries. The Judging will finish at 2.30pm when our doors will swing open for everyone to come along and take a look at the amazing displays of fragrant Spring flowers and photographs. Door admission $2.
There are two photography sections included in the show. Subjects for this year’s categories are Autumn Tones and Weather Moods. Get out your smart phones and print out those stunning long forgotten images and bring them along to the Presbyterian Church Hall on 27 September.
