DEAR STUDENT SCHOLARS AND FAMILIES
Welcome to your Webb journey! We are excited for you to discover our dynamic program in a unique southern California location.
At Webb, we create a nurturing and inspiring community that supports our students in developing and living lives of meaning and purpose. We challenge our students to Think, Act, Lead, and Serve.
Think Boldly, Mindfully, and Creatively: Our students challenge convention. Our interdisciplinary, student-driven academic experiences develop agile critical thinkers poised to analyze and solve complex problems.
Act with Honor and Moral Courage: The world needs humans who understand the difference between right and wrong and bring that strong moral center with them to all they do. Webb engages students in thinking about the complex ethical dilemmas facing humanity today and gives them the confidence to do the right thing even when no one is watching.
Lead with Distinction: Our students are leaders from day one. Our student leadership program gives students significant responsibility and authority. Supported by Webb faculty and peers, Webbies develop into collaborative, effective leaders.
Serve with a Generous Spirit: Underpinning all we do is a deep belief that serving others is at the heart of it all.
At Webb, we take teenagers seriously. Our program empowers them to create their Webb experience and gives them the tools and opportunities they need to do just that. Webb's unique location allows for this in incredible ways! Located in a dynamic college town on the edge of Los Angeles, one of the most diverse and thriving cities in the world, means access to artists and tech entrepreneurs, scientists and filmmakers, and more!
We invite you to engage with our vibrant school community. Join us for admission events, and come cheer for the Gauls, our athletics mascot. These opportunities are designed to help you connect and feel what it is like to be a member of our community.

SAFE & SOUND AT WEBB
DEAR FAMILIES,
We understand that sending your student to a boarding school is a significant decision, one that comes with a mix of excitement and apprehension. At Webb, we prioritize not only the academic and personal growth of our students but also their safety and well-being. We want to assure you that your student will be in a secure, nurturing environment where their needs are met around the clock.
A SAFE AND SECURE CAMPUS
Our 150-acre campus, nestled against the serene backdrop of the San Gabriel Mountains, offers an inspiring environment for your student's educational journey, where they can learn, explore, and thrive. The charming town of Claremont, home to the renowned Claremont Colleges, along with Webb’s strong on-campus security, creates a safe and supportive environment for learning.
COMMUNITY AND TRUST
At Webb, safety isn’t just about physical security; it’s about creating a community where trust and respect are paramount. It’s not uncommon to see bookbags, laptops, and personal belongings left around campus, a testament to the deep sense of trust and community that permeates our school. Students know they are in a place where everyone looks out for each other.
FACULTY PRESENCE
Our dedicated faculty members live on campus, in dorms near students and in nearby housing, providing constant support and mentorship. This close-knit living arrangement fosters strong relationships and ensures that students always have someone to turn to, whether for academic guidance or personal support.

Regular drills are conducted to ensure that students and staff are well-prepared. Our response team is trained to manage various scenarios, ensuring that your student is in safe hands at all times.
EMPLOYEE SCREENING
Every prospective employee undergoes a thorough screening process as part of the application procedure. We utilize the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) LiveScan system to conduct comprehensive background checks before employment. These checks are performed by an external live scan operator or qualified law enforcement personnel, who electronically capture the applicant's fingerprints, verify identification, and input personal information into the system. The use of biological identifiers ensures accurate and reliable identification of each individual.
REGULAR COMMUNICATION
We prioritize clear and open communication with parents. Through regular updates from your student's advisor, you will always be informed about their progress, any concerns, and the various activities they are involved in. Our goal is to build a strong partnership with you to support your student’s journey at Webb.
A FAMILY AWAY FROM HOME
We consider ourselves a family where every student is recognized, valued and genuinely cared for. At Webb, your student will discover not just a school but a home away from home, where their safety and well-being are our highest priorities.
We look forward to welcoming your family into our community and supporting your student’s growth and success at Webb.

Alf Museum of Paleontology, the only accredited museum of its kind on a high school campus, Webb offers an unparalleled opportunity to dig into the past. LEARNING FROM THE PAST: THE ALF MUSEUM
Home to the only nationally accredited museum of paleontology on a high school campus, Webb offers students unparalleled access to scientific research and discovery through the Raymond M. Alf Museum of Paleontology. This unique field-based learning environment allows students to study fossils they collect on trips, work alongside professional paleontologists, contribute to and co-author scientific papers, and even present their findings at scientific conferences, providing an exclusive academic research program for secondary school students.
The logo of the Alf Museum is a peccary—a prehistoric pig-like mammal. Webb students discovered a new species of peccary during a collecting trip in the Mojave Desert in 1936. This significant find inspired Raymond Alf, a Webb teacher and national collegiate track champion, to dedicate his life to paleontology, calling fossils “the documents of life.”

ADVISORY PROGRAMS
Special advisory dinners and outings are a few of the ways students develop meaningful relationships with their peers and advisors. In advisory, students come to know and be supported by many members of the faculty and staff. Each student is assigned an adult advisor and a small group of students who work together to support their academic, social, and emotional developmental needs. Each advising group meets formally once a week and has an opportunity to connect daily during chapel, assembly, and class meeting blocks. Over time, students build trusting relationships with their advisor, and the groups become centers of mutual support, interest, and activity. Through individual and group support, the advisory program helps students progress from learning (grade 9) to practicing (grade 10) to living (grade 11), and finally to loving and leaving behind (grade 12) our social, emotional, educational, and community values in the following mission-centered pillars:
