Theme and Details: Woodsy + Rustic Glam
Classic white flowers with leafy greens gavethe entire wedding a very simple yet elegantvibe, complete with little surprise elementssuch as wooden textures for a rustic feel andgilded décor for a touch of glamour. We lovethe wooden décor, especially the keepsakeboxes for the bridal party with their intricateengravings and messages. The colours werekept subtle, such as the pale pink tones of thebridesmaids’ dresses. It was clear that this wasa party celebrated by all.
“We wanted our theme to be simple – lessmaterials, and with the décor kept minimal andsimple too. It’s to focus more on our connectionand feelings of getting married, rather than thegrandeur of things,” said Vira.
Venue: Khayangan Estate, Uluwatu, Bali
Boasting one of the best views in Bali, theKhayangan Estate in Uluwatu has a lush andgrand alcove overlooking the ocean. What couldbe more romantic than saying yes to the love ofyour life against the backdrop of Mother Nature?
Vira: “We fell in love with Khayangan Estatethe first time we laid eyes on it. It was perfect. We wanted a rustic wedding, without too muchdécor, and this was the perfect venue for it.The estate in itself was already breathtakinglybeautiful, with the wooden villas and thedreamy garden.”
Opting for a destination wedding also meantthat everyone could kick back and relax beforethe main event, such as going for a quick dip inthe pool or bonding with each other at the spa.
Ceremony
A large wreath of white flowers and leafy greens framed the lovebirds as they said “I do” in front of their close family and friends. With such a simple yet classic colour palette, details were introduced in the form of textures, such as some dried flowers, pinecones, and wooden furniture. Even the art and stationery for the invites had elements that were similar to the décor. And then there was the bride, who looked absolutely resplendent in her intricately laced bridal gown.
Reception
When it came to celebrating the happy couple, the entire venue was turned into a magical, glamorous space, with fairy lights and elegant décor. Keeping to the rustic theme of wooden glamour, the centrepieces were dramatic yet subtle. But the main event was how much the couple enjoyed celebrating their union with their friends and family – going so far as to give their guests a hangover pouch together with their wedding favours. The wedding favours were personalised to the bridal couple: a tote bag printed with a drawing of the lovebirds, filled with Balinese food (showcasing their love for food) and a Kaos Barong (a Balinese shirt).
