Miguel Zenon & Spektral Quartet performing: Yo Soy La Tradicion Wednesday, November 14, 7:30PM, Bowker Auditorium The collaboration of jazz saxophonist Miguel Zenón and string ensemble Spektral Quartet provides an opportunity to merge their backgrounds of jazz and classical music. This performance comes from Zenón’s desire to create a concert-length suite to honor and explore the culture of his native Puerto Rico. The work does not fit into a single genre, but rather takes advantage of the strengths of jazz, classical, and folks music to create this eight-part tour of a unique cultural landscape. $35, $25; Five College Students and Youth 17 and Under: $10; Under40TIX $25 TIX: 413-545-2511, 800-999-UMASS OR FINEARTSCENTER.COM

Who Goes There? – with Agawam Paranormal, Tuesday, November 13th from 6:30-8:30pm. What was that strange noise? Where did that creepy shadow come from? Why is my dog bark-

If you live or work in a “haunted” location, everyday can feel like Halloween! In this presentation, Rob Goff Sr. and the Agawam Paranormal team will explore some of the local activity happening right in our own backyards. Goff will be showcasing some of the best evidence the team has captured during their investigations of local landmarks, including the Backyard Bar & Grill (formerly Vincent’s Steak House) on Riverdale Road, the Tap Room Bar & Grill in Wilbraham, and the Smith Art Museum in Springfield. Come join us! 2018 Holy Trinity Church Gift Card Fundraiser Holy Trinity Church, 335 Elm St., Westfield, is again having their annual Gift Card Fundraiser to help with winter fuel expenses. Gift cards are great for anniversaries, birthdays and other special occasions. They are great for relatives, friends, coaches, employees and co-workers. They work great for online shopping (no credit card info is needed; helps prevent identity theft) and your own daily shopping and dining. Gift cards also work great for raffle prize donations and for charity events. Please buy your gift cards from Holy Trinity Church. These gift cards are the same ones you buy at restaurants and stores and there are no expiration dates. Gift card wrappers are also available. American Express, Discover and VISA gift cards are available with no activation fees. There are over 100 area stores and restaurants to choose from on our order form. However, gift cards can be purchased for stores and restaurants across the United States and for different airlines, hotels, cruise lines, rental car agencies, gas stations, etc. If a gift card you want is not on the order form, please call or email me because I can order it if it is available. Order forms can be picked up in the Church or at the Parish Office. Order forms can also be mailed or emailed to you upon request. It’s easy. Fill out an order form and return it with cash or a check made payable to Holy Trinity Church. Return order forms in the collection basket during the weekend Masses, to the Parish Office, or through the Office mail slot if the Office is closed. First order goes in November 5, 2018 and the second order goes in December 3, 2018. Orders and payment must be received by these dates. Gift cards take 4-7 days to come in so they will be available for Black Friday shopping and for Christmas and Hanukkah. I will call you when your gift cards are available for pickup. If you have any questions, please contact Alicia Haluch at aliciawh@comcast.net, 568-9768, or call the Parish Office at 568-1506.

This contest is open to any/all readers eighteen (18) years of age or older, unless otherwise specified by the Westfield News Group, LLC Contest is open to U.S. residents only. The Westfield News employees and their relatives are not eligible for the contest. Odds of winning a prize will depend on the number of qualified entries. All contest entries become the sole property of Westfield News Group, LLC Only one winner or qualifier per family or household will be allowed. The decision of Westfield News Group, LLC , is final. Alll contestants acknowledge as a condition of entry, that Westfield News Group, LLC has a right to publicize or broadcast the winner’s name, character, likeness, voice, or all matters incidental herein. All prizes are non-transferable and void where prohibited by law. No cash substitution of prizes allowed. Winners understand and agree that they are responsible for any and all taxes incurred on prizes received within the year of winning. If required by Westfield News Group, LLC , or its affiliates, winners must sign a liability release prior to receiving their prize. If the prize is to be mailed, it is the responsibly of the winners to provide Westfield News Group, LLC with a current and correct mailing address. Westfield News Group, LLC is not responsible for, nor obligated to replace, any lost, stolen, or damaged prize sent through the U.S. Mail. If the winner is instructed by Westfield News Group, LLC or its affiliates to personally pick up their prize, it must be claimed within thirty (30) calendar days of winning. Upon pick-up of prize, proper picture identification (i.e. valid driver’s license, passport) from the winner may be required. Westfield News Group, LLC will not notify winners of the time remaining on their prize. It is the responsibility of the winner to claim the prize within the thirty(30) day timeframe. All unclaimed prizes after thirty (30) days will automatically be forfeited. Westfield News Group, LLC is at liberty to give away any unclaimed prize at the end of the thirty- (30) day grace period. Contestants enter by filling out the “Beat the Putz” pick sheets, included in Monday through Friday’s editions of The Westfield News. Copies of entry forms will not be accepted. Contestants choose one team to win each game from the list of NFL games for that particular week. The winning entry will be the one with the most wins on Sunday. In the event of a tie among more than one entry, the Sunday night game score will be used as a tie-breaker. Contestants are to choose the total number of points scored in the Sunday night game. To be given credit for the tiebreaker, the contestant must come closest to the total points scored in the game. Westfield News Group, LLC will award a maximum of one (1) prize per week. The exact number of prizes awarded each month will be decided by Westfield News Group, LLC in its sole discretion. The prizes to be awarded each week will be determined by Westfield News Group, LLC In the event that there are more eligible winners than the number of prizes awarded for a particular week, Westfield News Group, LLC will randomly select one winner for that particular week. Winner is determined by most correct games won. The tiebreaker is used when more than one entry have the same number of wins. At that point, the total number of points given by the contestant will determine winner. In the event of a game not being completed, that game will not be considered in the final tabulation for that week’s games. The grand prize winner will be selected by a random drawing of all entries better than “The Putz” from throughout the entire 17-week regular season. This contest is merely for entertainment purposes. It is not meant to promote or to facilitate gambling or illegal activity.

The spring 2019 HCC EMT Basic Course (EMT-B) begins January 31 and runs through May 23, 2019. The program consists of 13 weeks (170 plus hours) of in-class lectures and additional online study, training, field trips and workshops designed to prepare students for the state certification exam. Armbrook Village is bringing an opportunity to experience the power of music to the people of Westfield in the form of a Memory Chorus, offered the fourth Wednesday of each month at 2pm. A memory chorus is a chance for people of all ages, especially seniors and their caregivers, to experience the therapeutic benefits of singing in a no-pressure group environment.
