?MY THEORIES?

Tomorrow I will stay until the stars shine. I will float in silver light.

I will show strength and let go of gravity, breakthegravity ?

When I see an opportunity, I will stay longer and show as much strength as necessary.

when I come back, I will stay through the clear light of gravity. And tomorrow I'll repeat.

Sometimes I wonder, is this wrong ?

Can I continue ?

Other times I am sure of what I am doing.

What is the meaning of life???

Finding life’s meaning is the meaning of life.

The Truth Is

How did you know?

Who did you tell?

I saw you in the moon ’ s darkness.

The moon told me you knew.

Truth, tell it to me. What did you see?

(If you know the truth, you know me.)

Life

what's life, to me it’s a game to them it's the truth. I love it, they just fear it well, that's life for you. they might find problems in it but to me, life's fine.

Echo

Correct yourself before Echo comes. 52, 6 we’re running out of time. 94, 27 boom that thought out the door.

Silence, she says. Was it my mistake? Not at all.

Confused, it comes to me. Not your mistake but what is finally your fate. Waiting…

Nothing draws–

Near. Finish before you turn.

Tell me where your secret lies. We’re out of time.

That's only in your eyes.

Saying it makes no sense.

If you’re done, It's time to run.

Shivers. What a feeling

To have.

It wasn't your path.

Then come into your own imagination. Never with you.

The mistake I made in 9427. That's the future you're looking through. I know because you were there.

It’s in your eyes.

The Disaster

The territory would fall apart even more each day.

The people were worried, some even evacuated.

There was no strength to hold the island up, No strength to hold the sky, this is where everything fell.

The silver temples were abandoned.

The people would pray to bring this island into peace.

When they prayed, they knew deep inside

That there might not be anyone to save them.

In Your Palm

Have you ever seen anything that looks like me?

I’m sure you have. I might be right behind you. I might be right in front of you.

Have you seen something that's as unique as me?

Anything else that's falsely named? Not very often I imagine.

I’m not an ordinary tree, I’m not even a tree in the first place. I don’t have branches so you can climb. I don’t have fruits that are delicious.

Do you know who I am?

Did you see me yesterday?

Today? In the future?

What would happen if you saw me tomorrow?

What would happen if you never saw me again? How different would life be?

What about Hollywood and Los Angeles?

The postcards with all the palm trees. Would anyone still want to visit California?

Your ancestors have probably seen us. Imagine what a day would be like in their shoes, when they go on a walk and see us waving in the wind.

We weren’t in straight lines back in time. We were united with peace.

If you knew. If I knew, If I knew. If I knew this earlier

I would repeat things all the time.

107 Sixth Grade - 6A

A Repeating Cycle

Me, a palm tree. We live peacefully.

Birds chirping, the site of the city

We have seen it all.

Wake up, grow, eat Wake up, grow, eat

Live for many decades. See it all change.

T he false sense of identity We are not trees

A cool breeze in the wind Winter is near

T hen spring and then summer.

Again and again Scorching heat

Watching our families get tortured.

Big yellow machines

Brothers and sisters being taken away.

Seeing bugs burrow into our flesh

But it all repeats.

Wake up, grow, eat. Wake up, grow, eat.

Live anywhere Beach, mountain, city

Remember childhood. 20th century.

Speak, speak by the breeze

Made for peace. Made for the sites.

Made for the beautif ication of this city

The Echo of My Mind

Borrowing from Sappho’s fragments

Right here

Right now

In a faraway time

I can hear echoes around me I can hear my voice

Who’s there?

I wander

Tall pillars

Colorless walls

Just me and I alone for once

Even on the ground

That purple flower makes no noise

Silence erupts around me

Because I never thought

Doesn’t mean I couldn’t I feel rich with words

~ Pepper

How to Be a PALM TREE.

You have to be tall

…but not too tall that you go into another dimension

And you have to have arms

…a lot of arms so you can hold a lot of squirrels

And you have to have hair

…not too much that you turn into Harry Styles

And you have to li ke the color green

because you're stuck with it for the rest of your LIFE

And you have to be ok with your arms falling off

…and hitting unexpecting people walking their cats and unexpecting cats walking their people

Anyway… that is how to be a PALM TREE.

The Palm Tree S een on Your Big S creen

I am a palm tree seen on Hollywood tv or your big screen, but that's not me. I am a tree who grows on the beach. Yes, people go by me and think of trees who they see on tv, but that's just not me. I am a tree who likes the beach, but that's just not me. The tree I see in me is a tree who is happy and seen as me, not Hollywood tv or the beach. Yes, I see the sun shining down on me, but I'm not a tree. I just may not be me. S ee me as a beautiful plant blooming with life, not an LA tree. Thank you still for giving me a home near the beach and the sea. Thank you for having me, LA.

T houghts of the Palm

I have been through war.

I have seen love for one another, hate for each other, and the regret of a loved one.

I started as a seed and grew up to be strong. I stand tall when I am happy and droop low when I’m sad. I have been around the world and back searching for my home.

Alone. Together. Alone. My family and friends leave me. T hey come back and leave again. I don’t feel loved, I feel expelled.

I don’t sleep, I watch and listen. Watch the people cross the road. Watch the birds fly across the sky.

Listen to the voices of people and the barking of dogs. T he whining babies and the gentle drops of rain. I stand here waiting, waiting and waiting.

I don’t know when I’ll leave But I hope it won’t be soon.

I love it here in the hot and the cold

I will f ight the strong winds and rain and the hurtful words Stand tall in the sun and in the light of the moon.

I don’t care I love myself

Believe the Stones

(Borrowing words from Sappho)

I used to weave crowns of straw, I did not think I was worthy of gold. Gold was only fit for those who could touch the sky, who believed the stones when they told us not to move them, for they could be crystals hiding in plain sight.

Time moves differently when you’re not ready to accept your fate, or even your beginning. When you’re not as strong as the angels, or the pages holding your secrets and your past, the keepers of stories protect the ending.

Writing?

Sometimes history is intelligent lies symbols a ter the sea words search for meaning these spoken words are ancient history because nobody bothered to write them

Speak Up, Speak Now

People from history would beg you to because they couldn't.

Speak up because they couldn't.

I wonder if I’m too young or not mature enough.

I’m intelligent, I’m curious, I’m old enough to understand.

Are we going forwards or backwards?

We're not taking a test, but I think there are still answers. This is not a game of hide and seek, can someone tell me?

I’m looking at you, ancient history.

The Secrets Hidden Below

Hieroglyphs are interesting.

They contain many secrets, but you have to be intelligent

To read them They are special, they come from the far past and can change our futures.

They can tell us what happened to the world over time. And you must not be able to describe them if you don’t know what they mean and what they could do for us. More can happen that we don’t know.

It could change what we know happened to the world

You make them look dark as the night sky

Touch the sky

I don' t think I can touch the sky

I wish I could

I wish I could jump

Jump high enough to feel the clouds

Feel the empty space that ’s so high up But I can’ t

I’m stuck to the floor

Can’ t even touch the ceiling

If only I could just spring off the ground and

Fly into the sky

Fly into the atmosphere and answer all the unanswered questions

Fly through space and time

See things that people never get to see

But I’m here

Until it’s just how I like it.

My hair that gets put up at night

So it doesn’t get bothered.

My hair that is sometimes braided

But only when it looks really bad.

My hair that gets straighten

When I really don't want to deal with it.

My hair that people twist around their fingers

Then usually compliment.

My hair that curls just like ribbon

My hair that I wake up early to everyday

Just to see it look like a mess in the mirror.

My hair that I put a little bit of conditioner in

And a lot of product.

Except lighter.

My hair that covers my face

I see a blue suitcase, and it's shaped like a square.

A hat with a feather on it, and it looks like something a tax collector would wear in the fifties. Cards with memories on them.

A circle-shaped bag that looks like a cake.

A little square box that looks like a gift.

A part of a rectangular suitcase, a deep caramel brown.

I see a tag about Chicago, in 2023.

I see a tag that says dreams, last night.

What Do They Say?

I see suitcases of many colors.

Blue, brown, I even see a hat.

Tags with writing, but even more than that.

I see patterns and different shapes too.

The bags make me think of the many things I could do.

Travel, write, explore, things that bring me joy and pleasure.

I love having fun time with my family and friends

An exciting time is the kind of thought the baggage sends.

The bags look heavy but maybe they’re empty.

I wonder how many bags there are, maybe 20?

I wonder what’ s inside, gifts, money, people, or maybe nothing at all.

Maybe it’s my sister or her favorite doll.

The tags have words but what do they say?

The name of a person? Or the time of day?

Who’s bags are those?

My sister’s, my mother’s?

What goes, goes.

I am these shoes when I hear the cheers of the parents on the sidelines

Sentient Pasta.

I don't want to write about pizza. The only thing I want to write about is pasta. Everywhere I see pasta… YUMMY. You told me there was other food, NO! Only pasta.

I saw pasta in everything. I created a pasta hurricane, now there is only pasta. All over the city I see pasta, and I am happy.

I wrote a jazz song about pasta, but I forgot the lyrics, because my brain is pasta, so I forgot everything. Noodles don't think…

But noodles are sentient, they scream when I eat them.

What I really want to say is… fear the pasta! It is now time for the pasta to consume me.

A Stor Boo

A book is being read by A human. This is A good book, because it is about an Albatross. This particular human likes Albatrosses. In fact, this person bought this book purely because of the Albatross that is mentioned once. Human doesn't know much about Albatrosses. Do they live in the ocean?

Above the trees?

Are they secretly

Armadillos in disguise? Maybe no one knows. Maybe no one will ever know. A fact that we do know, though: The Albatross is such a mythical creature, that it was even featured in A book being read by A human.

It will clear up into a beautiful galaxy

People eating, sleeping, playing

And someday the painting will be destroyed

But not for a long time

~ Max

The water droplets fall in rhythm like a marching band.

Only through the thick brush can you see the light.

Another future on the horizon.

Let’s have some fun for a change.

One Eye

F lowing as a fly

Words are floating by

Everywhere I go

Closing my one eye

Rivaled by nothing but life

Impenetrable to only a knife

Letting out a sigh

Closing my one eye

For every leaf that wi ll fall

Every bird that wi ll call

Every stem wi ll let out a cry

It's f inally time to close your one eye

~ Gabe

HOW I WOULD PAINT MOTHER NATURE

A man and a woman stand right outside their cabin. The birds chirp, the sun gleams through the leaves of the trees

The shadow reflects onto the wooden planks of the house, the clouds bigger than boats. The sound of waterfalls in the back seems too realistic to just be on a plain canvas ~ Jesse

Can You Hear Me?

I don’t remember you saying this to me

And if you did, when was it?

It's not that I don't care you said it to someone else

I hear you now, are you satis ed?

And if you did, when was it?

It's like my words don't get through to you

I hear you now though, are you satis ed?

I am not satis ed

It's like my words don't get through to you

Are they meaningless?

I am not satis ed

Can you hear me?

Are they meaningless?

It's not that I don't care you said it to someone else

Can you hear me?

I don’t remember you saying this to me

Almost

When rain falls we know it comes from clouds

When the sun shines we know it’s just gasses being pulled towards each other

When something takes its final rest we bid it farewell, full stop I think the end is calming

When the sun shines we know it’s just gasses being pulled towards each other

Key word almost

I think the end is calming

Some think it’s calming because there almost is no end

Key word almost

Almost is a funny word, well not quite

Some think it’s calming because there almost is no end I almost believe them

Almost is a funny word, well not quite

When something takes its final rest we bid it farewell, full stop I almost believe them

When rain falls we know it comes from clouds

Fourte en

I am strong. I fight off all my negative thoughts.

I have many fears Fears of letting my parents down

I am scared. Scared of where life is going to take me.

I have many things on my mind

So many things to finish

Millions of thoughts rushing through my head

Pushing myself to the limit.

But I am only fourteen.

How I Would Paint Memories

Almost forgotten

A dark hallway

Dusty and grim

At the end a small light

A million moments

All different emotions

You feel safe

Looking back on your past

Friendships you lost along the way

Small moments that changed your life

Simple things you took for granted

Always wanting more

Go into the dark

Make new memories

Make hard decisions

Occasionally look back at the past

What felt so big at the time means nothing anymore

Move on, it's over

~ Lucy

How I Would Paint Memory

A white canvas brown frame

A clear sky

white clouds

A big eld of grass

dandelions everywhere

A pond full of lily pads frogs on every other one

Through my eyes

Memory paints a picture

~ Liana

Blipped

I don’t remember 2020

That year we didn’t do anything

It was never cared for

It wanted to be remembered

For making life hard

It got the attention it wanted

But at this point

Can anything get attention?

HOW I WOULD PAINT MELANCHOLY

A dusty room, with old red bricks crumbling

A grandfather clock in the corner

A girl stands, wavering slightly

Vines have crept their way around the room

Vines slowly star t to creep onto the girl herself

She slowly blinks her eyes open

Her expression a mix of sadness and contentment

The sounds of the ticking clock grow louder

She closes her eyes once again

The vines wrap their way around her body, engulfing her

The ticking slows to a stop as flowers star t to sprout

The old dusty room now a beauti l garden

Where bricks once crumbled

And a clock once ticked

And a girl once stood

Falling from the Colors of a Sunset

leaves fall from the colors of a sunset cold air makes my mind go quiet

the memories of summer become dusty I wait for winter rain

cold air makes my mind go quiet long gone is the sun I wait for winter rain my days become shor t and calm

long gone is the sun

the bright colors fade to gray

my days become shor t and calm sweaters become a hug from the season

the bright colors fade to gray

the memories of summer become dusty sweaters become a hug from the season leaves fall from the colors of a sunset

Lone Oak

As they fly over the the battlef ield with f ive hundred thousand men on it they watch from the skies as the wind ripples through the enemy’s flag.

As they see their brother-in-arms lie lifeless on the ground they see a glimpse of hope

A single tree stands in the middle of the battlef ield glowing with its bright green leaves, a tiny butterfly landing on it.

It remains untouched as it blows in the wind, while seeming to avoid every bullet and bomb that has come its way

As the heat f inally dies down, the survivors on both sides see a beautiful sunset with the silhouette of the great oak standing tall.

A Story Told B y Notes

Her soft hands touch the cold keys of the piano

A tune starts to play

Each note has a meaning

The song tells a story about warm feelings

A bright ray of sunlight hits the piano

The girl flips the pages at a rapid pace

Each note has a meaning

A place to belong

A bright ray of sunlight hits the piano

The wind howls as the song continues

The girl tucks her hair behind her ear

A place to belong

Her angelic voice starts to sing along

The wind howls as the song continues

Each note follows the next

The girl flips to the last page of the song

Angelic voices starts to sing along

The song tells a story about warm feelings

Each note follows the next

A tune starts to play

Inside the Heart of a Dying Tree

Alone, at the edge of the universe

Hello There

Hello there, it’s me, Liam

Who knows if you know me?

But I 100-percent have no clue who you are And who are you?

Who knows if you know me?

If you have no clue at all who I am, I am still Liam And who are you?

Because I still have no clue

If you have no clue at all who I am, I am still Liam To be true, I don’t know exactly who I am

Because I still have no clue But I'm working on it

To be true, I don’t know exactly who I am

And I 100-percent have no clue who you are But I'm working on it

Hello there, it’s me, Liam

Little birds revisit a place they consider a sanctuary

H ir I Corridor

I have a problem

Rather so big rather so troubling

My hair is nowhere to be seen

There is a patch of shiny nothingness on my head

What ever shall I do

I met a man his name was Gary he was ever so weary

He had a patch of shiny nothingness on his head as well

At the cocktail party he gave me his card

I looked it over ever so carefully

I sell wigs so very fine buy one for the price of nine

I searched my wallet but no money could be found

I asked Gary if he would take one for the team and gi ve me one for free

He screamed no and pushed me through the corridor

Where I found a lady so divine

She swept the floor with what looked like hair so very fine

I begged and I begged every day and she finally gave way

I had hair at last

But there was only one problem

It was attached to a stick

Whatever it was better than buying one from that shiny-headed oil slick

Stenographer of Life

I am the witness to every crime

Except no one bothers To ask for my testimony

Five thousand years of corruption

I see the culprit run away

I see the culprit get caught

I see hearts alive with joy

People carve their declarations of love into me

We Study Every Leaf

Here we are again alone wondering how is it that trees sway in the wind far out in the distance limb by limb alive or dead heart ripening

Inside, the little birds study every leaf that falls from the center of this world

Now look, another morning passes and the birds are still alone in the wilderness

Here we are again alone wondering how is it that trees sway in the wind far out in the distance limb by limb alive or dead heart ripening

Inside, the little birds study every leaf that falls from the center of this world

Now look, another morning passes and the birds are still alone in the wilderness

My sturdy bark holds the secrets of generations

I see toddlers getting lost in the endless grass of wonder

T hey come back as teenagers with friends or a partner

T hey are still toddlers to me, but they have changed and I have too

You may think my life is dull and boring, staying in one spot for eternity

But I am the stenographer of life

I keep track of centuries in my many rings

My core is strong with history

Even if you don’t care to learn it

It's there

Traveling Through My Ideas

I have a kite

My kite is a firebird

That soars through the sky

I have a pencil

It’s my math pencil

And never does anything else

I have this class

Where we learn to travel through time

But never to enjoy the present

I have these ideas

Ideas that want to be set free

But will never come out because I’m shy

I have this keyboard

That allows me to say whatever I want

Without even saying it

So maybe my ideas

Will come out

After all

Cameron

Alive inside the Tree

Look at me, another morning

Here we are again, alone

Five thousand untextured little birds

Ripening lives inside this land

Wind, air, alive, alone: wilderness

~ Campbell

HOW I WOULD PAINT ENERGY

A man making minimum wage walks down the street.

The sun shines directly in his eyes, sparking an amount of energy he never knew he had. He goes into Barnes and Noble, and tears every page out of every book. He is arrested and put into federal prison. But he breaks out of jail and no one can stop him from turning into a beast with infinite energy

How I Would Paint Happiness

A mossy rock, near the shore.

A spider-like crab gracefully flies into the lake.

The boardwalk with slippery, rusty stairs. People fight like pirates with pool noodles, dangerously close to the edge

A thousand boats rush by, bobbing the tube up and down

You would sink, but you don’t.

The vest turns you into a buoy. You’re par t of the lake now.

How I Would Paint Life

I would paint a field of flowers blooming under the sun

Flowers of pink and purple and blue and even yellow

Flowers flourishing beneath a cloudless sky

Vibrant and colorful.

I would paint a bustling city

Bursting with thousands of people and thousands of dreams

Skyscrapers that practically touch the sky

Paved roads always packed with cars.

I would paint the miracle of life

And I would paint it with all my heart

~ Arden

A Watery Reality

❤Love was broken but I wonder why

It was probably because of hate

But that’s just some abstract idea

Music leads the elephant into the room

The chaos of one conversation can bring a boring aftermath

The pile of kickboards grows higher every day

A silver pair of goggles left alone after the pool closes

One pair of fins can be dangerous

Sir, you have the right to remain silent.

Anything you say can and will be used against you.

So, you are Mr. Steal Diamonds, are you not?

Yes I am, officer.

Anything you say can and will be used against you.

Why are you repeating yourself?

Yes I am, officer.

I am not the officer! I didn’t even do anything. I was nowhere near a jewelry store or a diamond mine. Also, STOP REPEATING THIS CONVERSATION, it's gotten old already.

Why are you repeating yourself?

I-what-never-mind.

I am not the officer! I didn’t even do anything. I was nowhere near a jewelry store or a diamond mine. STOP REPEATING YOURSELF. Actually, I am just gonna go if this interrogation is over

I’m not saying the universe couldn’t hear, but maybe it did

I don’t remember if the world is flat, but maybe it is

I’m not saying that everything is bound together, but maybe it is

I don’t remember if the world exists, but maybe, just maybe, it doesn’t

There is no universe, because reality warps around you and you are its whisper

How I Would Paint a Line.

How I would paint a line: I would star t at a point and put effor t into it. I would move my brush one way and then another. And some might say that's a zigzag, but I say that's a line, that's how I define it, it's how I see it. It would toss and turn with loops and beautiful ribbons and beautiful displays of everything. That is not a line and yet it's a line. it would go against all things that you would associate with a line. It would be constantly moving in an organic sway yet it's a line . It would be a beautiful line. It would be my line. That's how I would paint a line.

When I Was a Little Girl

I had always dreamed of growing up

Feeling powerful

Feeling like the whole world was in every crevice of my palms

I don’t remember feeling scared of growing up

Like there was such a big road ahead of me with such a little car

Now that I am the age I have always dreamed of I don’t know how to feel

I am still a little girl trapped in a 14 year old’s body

S ometimes I stare up at the ceiling and wonder

Is this how I’ll feel forever

Will I have to worry about what others think of me

Think of my body, how I look

S ometimes I think

Will I ever smile again

Like I smiled when I was a little girl?

It ’s Too Late, I’ve Star ted to Fly

I’m at the first floor, Everything’s fine.

Walking up the stairs, Time’s flying by

Everything’s fine. I'm on the next floor, Times are flying by.

I see the sign

I'm on the next floor, I’m saying goodbye. I see the sign, I’m star ting to fly.

I’m saying goodbye

I thought I could fly

But now it's too late, I’m back on the floor.
