POINT A MESSAGE FROM

CLIFF RITTER

PASTOR TO SENIOR ADULTS

CELEBRATING THOSE OVER 90 On August 1, 2018, Prime Timers and guests honored those who are 90 and older. Twenty-six honorees were in attendance and the families enjoyed seeing their loved ones honored! Rev. Cliff Ritter delivered the devotional and Dr. Mark Lewis gave the celebration presentation. The women were presented red roses and the men a “golden” chocolate bunny.

We are heading into the Fall Season with great enthusiasm! September has all the promise of a new beginning. We can all get excited about the changes in the season to come, no matter how subtle they may be in our neighborhood. We are adding new members to our ranks each and every day. And, many of our Senior Adults are hitting the road soon for their trip to Mackinac Island in Michigan. We look forward to their report. Indeed, life gets better every day! Here’s a little news I’d like to share. We are thankful for Karen Freeman and her faithful service to the Shepherd Care Ministry. She will be transitioning out of her leadership role, but she will continue to be one of our faithful volunteers. We are delighted to welcome Kay Meador as our incoming chairperson, and as she leads this vital ministry to our Senior Adult community. Our Shepherd Care volunteers minister to church members who find themselves at home for an extended season due to health or mobility concerns. Keep them in your prayers, and volunteer to help if you are able. As you might imagine, we hear from a lot of people in the area who are interested in helping our Senior Adult community. We want to pass along some of the information we receive each month. So, we are starting a small, “in-print,” bulletin board as part of the Senior Point Newsletter. We will have a RESOURCE CORNER with information about services and activities that might be helpful in our community. I hope you will find this section to be useful. Watch your Newsletter for some great ministry resources in the months to come. Keep serving Jesus and helping one another! With grace,

Elizabeth Voran and Clarence Thompson

Rev. Cliff Ritter, Dr. Mark Lewis and Rev. Don Meador
