ABSTRACT

ItpromotestechnologicalliteracyandusageofMultimediapackagesinthecurriculumtransactionprocess.Therearevariouschallengesfacedbyteachertraineesto successfullyintegratetechnologyandpedagogyinthecurriculumtransaction.LackofknowledgeregardingTechnoPedagogicalskillsonthepartofteachertrainees beforeenteringtheprofessionandevenTechnopedagogicalskillsarenotproperlyutilizingbystakeholdersatmaximumextent.Thesereasonsandthemanyresearch resultsrealizedtoresearchertoinvestigatethehighneedofstudying“TechnoPedagogicalskillsofTeacherTraineesofUniversityofMysore.”Themainaimofthis studyistofindouttheLevelofTechnopedagogicalskillsofteachertraineeswithdifferentdimensionsof21stcenturyskills. Heretheresearchisusedsurveymethod andusedtheSCALEFORTECHNO-PEDAGOGICALSKILLStoolpreparedbyandstandardizedbyJeyarajI,tocollectthedata”.

Ateachertraineeshouldbeaconstant learnertobeadeptenoughtotacklethestudentswithimmensetechnologyinfluence.TeachershouldhavemasteryovertheskillstousedemandsanunderstandingofhowICTtoolsarerelatedtothecontentareaandpedagogypart.Soalong st withcontentandpedagogyknowledge,a21 centuryteachertraineesmustpossessICTknowledgeaswell.
SIGNIFICANCEOFTHESTUDY:
DuetotherapidrevolutioninthefieldofICTthereisaparadigmshiftincurriculumtransactionprocesses.Teachersshouldchangetheirteachingstylesoasto accommodatetechnologyintotheirregularclassroomteaching.Forateacherof present generation, it is imperative to have the knowledge about ICT and its usageinthecurriculumtransactionprocesses.TeachersshouldknowtosuccessfullyintegraterightkindofICTintotheirsubjectmatterwhileplanningaswellas providingtheexperience.Sobeforeenteringtheprofessioninthetrainingitself technopedagogicalskillsareincooperatedamongtheteachertrainees.Ithelps totraineestomaketheirteachingmoreeffectiveandjoyfulbyusingICT Soit's necessitatingtostudytheTechnoPedagogicalskillsamongteachertrainees.By thisresearchcanfindthelevelofTechnoPedagogicalskillsamongteachertrainees.
REVIEWOFRELATEDLITERATURE:
Dr PradeepKumarS.L(2018)conductedastudyonTechnoPedagogicalskills of secondary school Hindi teachers working in Kerala. 488 secondary school Hinditeacherswereselectedforthestudy Self-madetoolwasusedforthisstudy TheresultrevealedbothMaleandfemalesecondaryschoolHinditeacherswere highlyproficientincomputerapplication,Maleteachersaremuchcompetentin utilizingthewebfacilities,bothMaleandfemalesecondaryschoolHinditeachersweremoderatecompetencyintheeffectiveoperationofmoderntechnologicalequipment's.
JeyarjIandRamnathR(2018)examinedthetechnologicalpedagogicalandcontentknowledgeofB.EdstudentteachersinPuducherryregion.200B.Edstudent teacherswereselectedforthisstudy ThestandardizedscalepreparedbyIsmail sahinwasusedasthetoolforthisstudy Itconsistof47items.Theresultrevealed thattechnologicalpedagogicalandcontentknowledgeofB.Edstudentteachers levelismoderate.
Dr.C.Thanavathi (2016) conducted a study on Techno Pedagogical skills of TeacherEducatorinTamilnadustate.50teachereducatorsfromThoothukudidistrictwereselectedforthestudy Self-madetoolwasusedforthisstudyanditconsistsof49items.Thefindingofthestudyinferredthat40%ofTeacherEducators areModeratelevelofTechnoPedagogicalskillsandthereisnosignificantdifference between male and female teacher educators in their Techno pedagogical skillsandalsothereisnosignificantdifferencebetweenurbanandruralteacher educatorsintheirTechnopedagogicalskills.

METHODOLOGYOFTHESTUDY: Descriptivesurveymethodisusedto“TechnoPedagogicalskillsamongTeacher TraineesofUniversityofMysore”
PopulationandSampleofthestudy: Stratifiedrandomsamplingtechniqueisadoptedinthisstudy TeacherTrainees ofTen Colleges of Education affiliated to University of Mysore were selected; fromthetotalpopulationoutoftwohundredteachertraineeswereselectedrandomly

The tool techno pedagogical skill consists of 51 statements in the form of five pointLikerttypescalei.e.,eachitemhasfiveoptionssuchasverylittleextent,littleextent,someextent,greatextentandverygreatextent.Thetoolorquestionnaireprovidesopportunitytoeasilycollectagreatdealofinformation.Sincethe questionnaireintendedtotestthelevelofTPSamongtheteachertrainees,classificationofpositiveandnegativeitemswerenotentertained.Alltheitemswere the directional and based on the use of TPS. The content of the questionnaire mainly dealt the following eleven dimensions, namelyWord processing skills, Spreadsheetskills,databaseskills,electronicpresentationskills,webnavigation skills, e-mail management skills, WebCT skills, Knowledge of PDA, Educationalcopyrightknowledge,ComputernetworkknowledgeandComputersecurityknowledge.

ThisstudyrevealsthatthelevelTechnopedagogicalskillsoftheTeachertrainees ofUniversityofMysore.BythisstudyresearchfoundthatteachertraineeshavingModeratelevelofTechnopedagogicalskills,butinthis21stcenturytechnologicaleartoreachthestudentseffectivelyusageoftechnologyplaysavitalrole soeveryTeachertraineesshouldhavetheminimumknowledgeabouttheusage oftechnologyandbasic21stcentury'stechnologicalskills.Sobyadoptingnew methodsandpracticesteachertraineesshouldgivemoreprioritytowardsusage oftechnologyintheirteachingpracticeandtheyshouldinculcatethehighlevel TechnoPedagogicalskills.
