ABSTRACT

FreshwaterpearlcultureisgrowingasasourceofemploymentandincomeinmanyDistict,Baleshwar,Odisha., Ihaveiniatedfreshwaterpearlcultureprojectsin recentyears.InIndiathe instituteoffreshwateraquacultureiscarryingoutresearchonidentificationofsuitablelocalpearlmusselspecies,definitionappropriate surgicalimplantationprocedure,developingpostoperativecareprocedureandcaptivepondcultureofmussels.TheTable5.1showsthatthewaterparameterslike temperature(30.2),oxygen(5.9),PH(7.4),alkalinity(162)andcalcium(51)inrearingperiodhavevaluesin8weeks.Table5.2ShowsTheLamellidensmarginalis speciesobservetheaveragelength8.0mm,No.ofmussels55,survivability100,%ofpearlbearingmussel92,Maximumno.ofpearl10andAvarageno.ofpearl observed6.Table5.3showsthetotalnumberofnucleuscollectedforculture11whichhavedesigner,oval,roundandhalfroundshape(eachno.ofnucleus10)by dentalandzeronitepowdersandshellpowderroundedwhichhaveno.of11nucleus.

METHODOLOGY:
