Manager, Business Development, UK (Part-time) May 2016 COO Business Development

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: This part-time (15-20hrs/week) position is situated in London, UK and is responsible for growing and maintaining the WXN customer base (Corporate Members and Partners) in the UK, day-to-day management of the Corporate Members and Partners, and driving revenue growth within the existing customer base. In addition, the role includes identifying new business growth opportunities across the UK, working closely with the Events and Marketing teams to ensure that the WXN mission, vision and values are upheld. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: 1. Oversee business development outreach initiatives including sales strategies, presentations and stakeholder communications in the UK. 2. Oversee UK Partner and Corporate Membership engagement, retention and renewal strategies. 3. Compose proposals and negotiate contracts as needed. 4. Retain and grow existing client base within the UK market. 5. Continue to develop a broad base of senior relationships within client organisations. 6. Deliver existing proactive account management strategy. 7. Plan and attend regular update/review meetings with clients. 8. Manage ad-hoc queries and inquiries generated by WXN clients. 9. Budget management to ensure revenues and expenses are met for UK sales initiatives. 10. Responsible for weekly sales forecasting and reporting on revenue targets and progress to goals for the UK business. 11. Contribute to strategic planning for renewal and new business growth within the UK market. 12. Lead generation for new business sales based on agreed targets. 13. Build and develop network of industry contacts to generate new business leads. 14. Develop and manage internal relationships with WXN contacts in the UK, Ireland and Canada. 15. Assist with Individual Membership retention and sales strategies for various programmes and initiatives. 16. Work with Events team to manage and organise successful attendance of Partners and Corporate Members at relevant programmes and events. 17. Work with Marketing to assist with social media efforts. 18. Contribute on a regular basis to internal and external marketing communications. 19. As required, assist in garnering more attendees for events from the membership database. 20. Travel to Ireland to assist in management of clients and new business, as required. 21. Work remotely in home office, reporting into COO who is located in Toronto, Canada.


22. Other duties as assigned including growth into other markets. ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES • Achieve 90% renewals on all Partners and Corporate Members • Achieve new business sales targets as assigned • Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company objectives POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Education / Experience: • A university degree in a related field or equivalent combination of post secondary education and work experience; • Minimum 7 years of experience in consumer and B-2-B sales and business development; and, • Proven track record of building and maintaining successful relationships with executives. Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: • Excellent track record of success with sales and client management; • Excellent judgment, organizational, problem solving and project management skills; • Excellent writing and editing skills; • Superior communication, interpersonal and customer service skills to interact with an elite FTSE100 customer base; • Demonstrated capacity to juggle priorities and meet deadlines; • Ability to work independently in a team environment; • Good understanding of CRM and e-commerce systems; and, • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
