Category Questions Management Role Margot sets out the strategy and the direction for Sodexo in Ireland and Northern Ireland with her segment and regional team. She works with the team to find real and deliverable goals and measurements, in line with Sodexo’s growth strategy for UK and Ireland, Accelerat8. Margot plays a key role in the Accelerat8 strategy, which focuses on creating simplicity and a clear connection with eight business priorities for the corporate services sector in Ireland and the UK. A series of webcasts, in which Margot is one of the key speakers, form an integral part of the communications around the strategy. They are a way of encouraging engagement, interaction and creating an inclusive environment where people feel they can challenge and air their views. Vision and Leadership Margot began her career as a chef but switched to junior management when she joined Sodexo in the early 90s. She became managing director in 2012 and country president in 2015 and considers herself a walking example of her company’s commitment to people development. Margot is very committed to people development and this was recognised when Sodexo won the NSAI Overall Excellence in People Development Award in 2015. Margot is a huge supporter of Sodexo’s local, regional and global D&I efforts, her energy seems never ending! Her easy and approachable manner combined with her tenacity have ensured that progress is made across the board on Diversity and Inclusion topics and that people feel comfortable asking questions to improve their own understanding, all whilst progress is being made and the agenda strengthened. She was the founding chair of Sodexo’s Women Work employee network, a member of the D&I council and the lead of the company’s LBGT efforts in Ireland and the UK, all whilst helping to drive progress on the global Sodexo stage through her work with SWIFt (Sodexo Women’s International Forum on Talent). Margot regularly finds the sweet spot which connects her passion for D&I, and our own internal efforts, with the agendas of our clients and customers, discussions that show the business benefits of Diversity and Inclusion to those who may need convincing. Sodexo featured in the Top Ten Index One of the Top Ten Places to Work for LGBT Equality at the 2016 GLEN Workplace Equality Awards.
