Nearly 200 residents came out to the follow-up flood meeting held last Wednesday at Archbishop Romero Catholic Secondary School looking for answers and “immediate help” to the problems created by the major rainstorm on July 8 that flooded their homes. “We’re here tonight because not that much got accomplished at the last meeting,” said Sean McConnell, a 37-year resident on Cordella Avenue, who estimated as much as five feet of water filled his basement. The initial meeting on July 19, hosted by York South-Weston Councillor Frances Nunziata, heard from many angry residents with emotions running high about the damage they suffered.
