Vanessa McLeod, 19, competed in the Junior Pan Am Games representing Canada this past weekend finishing third in the 800m race. The St. Clair Avenue and Keele Street resident finished with a time of 2:09.04 behind fellow Canadian and race winner Jenna Westaway who clocked in at 2:06.94. McLeod also competed in the 4 x 400m race with Westaway, Marie-Colombe St. Pierre and
Sage Watson. The Canadian relay team finished second behind the United States with a time of 3:41.53. Stephen Strong, her Canadian running club coach, expects McLeod will be ready to compete in the 2020 Summer Olympics.
