When York South-Weston Councillor Frances Nunziata said she told city staff the former Goodwill store on Runnymede Road isn’t an appropriate site for a 100-bed men’s shelter, her audience erupted in applause.

A third meeting to discuss the proposed men’s shelter at 731 Runnymede Rd., just south of St. Clair Avenue, drew a capacity crowd to the Annette Community Recreation Centre on Monday. Tempers flared among residents of both Nunziata’s Ward 11 and Parkdale-High Park Councillor Sarah Doucette’s Ward 13 yet,
