DOminik kuRek dkurek@insidetoronto.com Artscape officials have revealed details of the new Weston cultural hub, which is soon to be built. The 8,200 sq. ft. Artscape Weston Hub is expected to open in the latter half of 2018 at 33 King Street near Weston Road. It is getting built inside an existing building in conjunction with a new residential tower project on John Street by developer Rockport Group. The hub will face out onto John Street, it's main entrance stepping out onto a public realm and the new John Street pedestrian bridge. The hub will feature indoor and outdoor community space and 26 artist live-work spaces, rented at 80 per cent of market value. Artscape officials proposed at a public meeting Monday, Nov. 14 the entire site, including the live-work apartments, the hub, and the open space, could be called Weston Common, and will feature bold colours on the ● See HUB, page 15
