Box elder bugs prove a nuisance, but pose no threat Manitoba maples centre of west-end infestation CYNTHIA REASON creason@insidetoronto.com For Maria Miranda, the most effective tool against this late summer and early fall’s seasonal onslaught of box elder bugs has been duct tape. As manager of Roger’s Music Centre at 465 Rogers Rd. – the epicentre of one of several large infestations reported in recent weeks – Miranda has been forced to seal off the store’s front door against invasion by the red and black beetle-like insects that have migrated from a nearby Manitoba maple.
