Exhibitors of Steam Whistle Gallery’s ‘Punktures,’ a group of self-described “geezer punkers” may be over 40, but they are refusing to act their age. “All of us are over the age of 40. We have that in common. Also, our love for punk music.

My work is influenced by punk rock. I get a lot of my inspiration from music,” said Leanne Davies, an Oakwood Village resident, who has also been playing the drums since the mid-1990s. Storytelling Toronto will be at Artscape Wychwood Barns Saturday, Oct. 16 for some family-friendly story time. The storytelling happens from 10 a.m. to noon at the farmers’ market. Everyone is welcome to listen to stories, tell stories of their own, or to join in some talk about how stories affect our lives. This is a multi-age event. The venue is at 601 Christie St. Look for the blue tent outdoors.

International cinema lovers have a chance to check out a French classic at the Dufferin/ St. Clair Library branch. The library will be screening the 1964-released musical The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (with English subtitles) Thursday, Oct. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. The film is a bittersweet wartime love story starring Catherine Deneuve and Nino Castelnuovo. It was nominated for five Academy Awards. The library is at 1625 Dufferin St.
