Claude Eigan (b. 1983) lives and works in Berlin.Through her exhibitions, Claude Eigan strives to create oneiric settings and environments where all senses are heightened. Influenced by contemporary poetry, she translates those strategies into a sculptural practice that triggers memory and enhance sensations. Altering scale and color, isolating or externalising individual structures such as bones, intestines or fluids, she looks at the dysfunctional anatomy of our collective imaginary and explores the abject and libidinous dimension of the body as well as other areas of uncertainty, chaos and disorientation. Recent exhibitions include: A spoonful of Sugar (Komunuma, galerie Jeune Création, Paris, 2020), Good as Hell (Uqbar, Berlin, 2019), Cloak of Mercy (Horse & Pony Fine Arts, Berlin, 2019), Hear the Lizards Listening (Mélange, Köln, 2019), Fest (La Placette, Lausanne, 2018), A Strong Desire (PS120 Gallery, Berlin, 2018), Augmented Sunrise Beneath the Skin (Gr_ünd, Berlin, 2018), Sun Sipping Some Syrup (Frontviews, Berlin, 2018).
