TOM DELUXX & JULIEN MILAN - « DRAMA QUEEN EP »

Release date : Novembre 2007

Despite flourishing days for electro music, most of the Majors still leave aside many music styles, preferring more bankable projects. All right ! At a time when the public is led by a common thirst for something new and surprising, small indEpendent labels have everything to win, free to offer their own vision of music and their own rules. Boxon is one of them, young electro music label created in 2007 by Julien Minet, who wants to share new sound experiences with the public. Eclecticism is the word when it comes to producing artists. MySpace’s explosion gave visibility to any artist worldwide, just in a “click”, and Julien Minet went all the way up to Siberia to sign Dj Eclier whose presence in the label sounded pretty obvious. In only two years of existence, Boxon managed to stand out, identified as one of the most promising label of the French electronic scene. Music lover adventure, the label gives his own and honest music vision, from pop to house or even electro and break !

Tom Deluxx is releasing his very first Ep in the industry : « Drama Queen » and « Mushion Heroe » are two great tracks. Discograph distributes the vinyl, and Idolweb is our aggregator for the digital distribution. It is also the very fi rst release of Boxon Records, the label from Bordeaux. Anem is making the cover.

TOM DELUXX - « REACTIVATE »

GOOSEFLESH - « STILL WILD »

Release date : August 2009

Release date : September 2009

Boxon Records is glad to announce the release of «Reactivate», the new single composed by Tom Deluxx, which release date is set up for August the 17th, 2009 on Beatport (Exclu) and for August the 31st, 2009 on the other platforms of music sales (only in digital). With this song oriented for the « dancefloor », the artist from Bordeaux Tom Deluxx is giving again in the electro-techno genre (editor’s note : listen to Drama Queen released on the first Boxon reference). This release also comes with a remix composed by the turkish duet Gooseflesh (editor’s note : the last Boxon signature). The « Tom Deluxx » project is now « Reactivated » with the release of this single… Waiting for his next « Ep » (set up for the end of the year).

Ref. BOXON012 A1. Reactivate A2. Reactivate (Gooseflesh Remix)

Signed on the Boxon Records label, Gooseflesh is the alliance of two producers from Turkey : Ulas Pakkan (aka Jackdied) and Volkan Akaalp (aka Jasko). After having caused plenty of damages on the dancefloors world-wide, particularly with two remixes, the one of Digitalism « Taken Away » and the one of Tiga « Mind Dimension », Gooseflesh is positioning himself as an ambitious and promising band. They just released in January 2009 the track « Blow Up » on the compilation « Boxon Makes Me Happy » (ref. Boxon007) and stayed during 2 months in the top 10 of Beatport (« Indie Dance/NuDisco » genre)… It seems the Gooseflesh duo does not take holidays, and he is offering us a second sleep. Composed by the two Turkish artists in the recording studio of their university in Istanbul, their new nugget is called « Still Wild ». Ultrapowerful, the first edit is taking his roots in the « discopunk » genre, and the vocals made by their friend Baybora Baran are defi nitely giving more energy to the track. The second edit is a remix made by Gooseflesh themselves, who wanted to show a new arrangement to people. With an intro more « vocal » and more « electro-pop » than the first version, the track is evolving respecting the principles of the composition made for the « rave ». Tinted with « party sounds », thanks to the clever use of trumpets, we ask ourselves if it is not also a musical wink to Mr Oizo… Will the ascension of Gooseflesh in the « Indie Dance/NuDisco » charts continue with this project ?

The sound of Access Denied is accurate and adds well the techno trash touch that we love to hear and feel on the dancefloors, when it’s getting late at night. « Pimp My K.i.s.s. » is one of their own productions. Lovely pop melodies and sweet feeling, that is what you get hearing this song. MOSHPIT - « REMIXES EP »

TOM DELUXX - « RUN EP »

Release date : April 2010

Release date : May 2010 :

The Moshpit trio comes from Montpellier, and is a music band making a fusion between metaltekno and hardcore. Having already been selected as Discovery of the Printemps de Bourges, they also signed the 61st maxi of the legendary « Industrial Strength » label from New-York. They are releasing now their maxi of Remixes on the French label Boxon Records. “A tsunami of decibels that belongs to no church, but profaning all of them and violating, without faith nor law, the foundations of breakcore, hardcore, electro-indus, metal et tekno hardcore... » (NatV) This project is combining the metal hardcore sound of the Moshpit trio (I.O.T. Records) with the clubbing/dancefl oor sound of Boxon Records. With no less than 4 remixes by Dilemn, Kode-X, BeeGood, and Me Against Me, the songs « Teenage Anthem », « Souvenirs And Other Tumours », and « Sell Outs Until Death » are all taking here a new dimension, becoming more club, break, and industrial techno. All the original songs come from their album « Follow The Loser », out on I.O.T. Records in may 2008. His wonderful and special design has been made by the graphist Niark1. Then that’s him again who has been making the cover of this new Boxon release.

Tom Deluxx (Bordeaux). Premier Boxon artist and half of the duo Just A Band, Tom Deluxx is a dj/producer with a solid reputation on the international electro scene. He has successfully managed to set the stage for renowned electronic artist, such as Justice, The Bloody Beetroots, Para One, Boys Noize or Sebastian. Presently, he divides his time between producing superior tracks and spinning at the best clubs in the world. His next Ep, called « Run », is set up for April 2010, on the label Boxon Records. Listening to the track « Run » by Tom Deluxx, we immediately feel his dark side. With this outstanding production, the artist from Bordeaux is showing again his composing skills. Putting together all the most up-to-date ingredients into his new work, which he decorated with nice « hip-hop » vocals, « Run » automatically gives you the desire to dance. Already compared to the sound of The Bloody Beetroots and of Justice, the electro by Tom Deluxx is melodic, sometimes heavy, and especially effective. Frenchy techno + hype sensations. The vinyl (and digital) release includes the powerful remix of the Cyberpunkers, who put the track even more Dancefloor. Also present: the track « Reactivate » (available only in digital since August 2009) by Tom Deluxx. Finally, a video-clip for « Run » realised by Sélim Bentounes and produced by Boxon Records will be shown really soon.

TAMBOUR BATTANT - « YO REMIXES »

COSTELLO - « GET CRAZY EP »

Release date : August 2010

Release date : September 2010 :

Ben & Nico are two drummers from Avignon. As Rock, rap, électro and drum’n’bass lovers they decide one day to compose their own beats. In 2009 the band makes a huge performance at “Le Printemps de Bourges”. After the success of their explosive « On The Ground » EP, Tambour Battant comes back with a maxi on Boxon Records : « Yo ! ». Pitched and cut vocal on an electro house beat mixed with a soca and hip-hop touch, this track is a perfect combination of the talent of the duo. Pro7, a Boxon Records artist since the beginning and prince of the French fidget house, gives us a mighty and strong remix. This track cooked with bass and a monstrous beat is made to ravage the dancefloors. Definitely a banger ! Youthman surprises us with a refix we could describe as new “old school». The child prodigy of the Bassline, author of a recent album, supported by Gilles Peterson, is having fun by destroying the track with a breakbeat and vintage synthesizers bringing an exciting coolness to the remix. Prosper & Zamix, producers of several tracks on Expressillon and Level75, are offering a techno remix mixed with tropical drums and an acid synthetic bass. A track made with keenness and progressive intensity. MC2 come from Marseille, they are the French glitch hop representatives. They pushed slow the tempo in order to transform the track into a spatial groove hip hop. Vocals fixed with Autotune, cut in thousands of pieces added to extreme synthesizers give us a cracking remix. Finally Jankenpopp delivers us an unclassifiable UFO, with an unusual mightiness power, with strong 8bits accents. Electropical, breakcore and glitch are gathered in a single track. Jankenpopp is an insane producer and that is what we love about him.

Costello 23 years old DJ/Producer, already appeared in international labels (Plasmapool, Party Like Us, Big Fish recordings, Dust Traxx Chicago) and made remix of artists such as Missil, Dilemn, Stereoheroes, Udachi or Gooseflesh. Thanks to his insane shows, his youth influenced by a good dose of strength and technique, and his electro 90s sounding break, rock or hip-hop, he managed to make a name. The maestro of the bassline is now playlisted by the most famous DJ’s (David Guetta, Lazy Rich, Lee Mortimer, AC Slater, Calvertron, Steve Aoki) and specialised radios (BBC, FG, etc.), and releases « Get Crazy » on the french label Boxon Records. On the vinyl version, the title Get Crazy (Original Mix), comes with two remixes. One by Will Bailey (Simma Records), and the other by Black Noise (Southern Fried Records, Ministry Of Sound), two artists in vogue of the actual UK scene. Different and complementary, each one of them bring new ideas, punchy breaks, clever vocals for an efficient final result and of a wonderful quality. To cap it all, NineLives The Cat (from Sydney), brings his voice on one of Costello’s tracks for a stunning featuring. Something is certain, those tracks won’t go out from your head. In bonus on the digital release, three tracks : the Dub Mix and the Radio Edit, prove once again Costello’s talent while the Dub Mix by Will Bailey (also remixer of Crookers, Moby, etc.) is the reflection of his new crush for this powerful and inventive track. Thanks to the tracks of this Ep, everyone will agree about the brilliant future of the frenchy. It’s time to Get Crazy.

BOGART AND THE ADDICTIVES - « BEHOLD EP »

WONDER - WAT

Release date : October 2010 :

Release date : November 2010 :

After a first album in 2008, they strongly return with « Behold », under the french and productive label Boxon Records. This single announce their new album, which will be out at the end of this year. From the very first seconds of « Behold » its cynism is obvious. And even if it speaks about the perpetual representation of human beings, about hiding our real personality, our desires, etc., this song is perfect to dance, sing aloud, and jump everywhere. Because « Behold » sounds like a dance track. But don’t be too confident, behind this there is a human and deep song, composed as life is: sad and joyful at the same time. And the Ep of « Behold » is like Bogart itself : full of influences and meetings. On the vinyl, we get the original mix and the remixes by : Johnny Boy, The Louder Lads, Loo & Placido, Hoaxx, and kiGma. Then, on the digital version, we get as a bonus the remixes by : Daroc, Distrakt, Modul Club.

Born in the auto-producer 2000’s frenzy, with a mix of influences, WAT first made themselves a name as dancefloor destructives using fingerboard as guitars. Their first LPs are uncompromising and free of any aesthetic limits. A sort of nervous breakdown that takes all your energy but leaves you relieved. But don’t think that « WONDER » will be sweeter! All along its 12 tracks, this album gets closer to what W.A.T has always worked for: a mix of very different influences that would have been put into an electro-rock juice extractor. « WONDER » starts with « Digital Hero » and its epic theme, which puts the album right away in its context, and lays the foundation stone. « Now System » and « Kill Kill » show that you can flirt with pop rock with no complex. Also, « Odyséée » and its electro-funk melody goes at 200 miles per hour with a convertible. Flash. Stop. « Last Chance » and « Breathe With Me », more rock, rougher and darker, close the first chapter of the album. The journey starts again with « Hot Dog Story », assumed reference to the 80’s naïve groove and « Millenium », a sexy story, which lead the album to its electric end. Then, W.A.T creates a naïve and melancholic walk over two songs, « Circus Circus » and « Missile », which rises up to feeling dizzy. Last but not least, « Take Control » and « Wonder », made of fanatic new-wave create a hypnotic final and leave up in the air a cloud made of sounds…

ECLIER - THE FUTURE IS NOW

TOM DELUXX - RUN REMIXES

Release date : October 2010 :

Release date : October 2010 :

ECLIER (Siberia) proudly represents the new cold wave from the east: electro break, robotic vocals and spacey pop synths: all together this siberian chemistry is a hot hymn to the dancefloor. After the release in July of « The Hole » EP (ref. MAKO004), supported by Mr Oizo, Das Glow, Mixhell, Zombie Nation, aUtOdiDakT, etc., ECLIER is coming back in october for his new « The Future Is Now » EP. With new bombs for the dancefloor, on the productive label Boxon Records.

The «Run» EP by TOM DELUXX has already been making some noise during last year. With the Cyberpunkers remix, it is still in the Beatport charts 6 months after its release. The Official video clip for the original «Run» has also been selected by Vimeo as one of the most creative and inspiring video of the web. Well known for his insane shows as dj in the best european clubs with precise and vitaminized sets, having been remixed by famous artists such as The Toxic Avenger, South Central, Gigi Barocco, GTronic, supported by Sound Of Stereo, The Bloody Beetroots, Tommie Sunshine, The Shoes, TOM DELUXX IS BACK on BOXON REC with this EP of 7 REMIXES. We get 34 minuts of electronic music with varied orientations and bases that enable «RUN» to take a new dimension at various occasions: between destructive dancefloor track (ill Saint M) and powerful electro-house (Belzebass, La Tourette), between techno-rock (Aerotronic) and electro-break caviar (aUtOdiDakT), between discotek (Blatta & Inesha) and rave (Fantomes feat. Clarks), the effectiveness and diversity are at the rendezvous. Thanks to his fabulous remixers and also to Tom Deluxx knowledge about the fast evolution of the music industry, it is again a superb release on Boxon Records.

If ECLIER’s first album took you on an amazing trip, this new project with more rhythm will take you directly to exploding parties. Girls, the word is dancing. After a few remixes for some artists of the label Boxon Records and an EP on Proxy’s label, we were right to expect a true hurricane. No options left, it’s gonna come. With intros very much turned to an atmosphere close to B.O. S.F. and a new wave touch, NIKITA, who comes from the great Siberian cold, adds an electro touch to choruses that just make the ice melt. A perfect example to be found on « ROCKFALL », heritage of Digitalism. The saturated melodies are bloody efficient and the beats powerful. Away from a lament or a lullaby, ECLIER earned his stripes, and took vitamins. We definitely find this craving energy on « SPIDER » that ends this three-track record. ECLIER has everything of big man now: Tom Deluxx’s enthusiasm and the combined new wave touch of the Cut Copy. He gets closer to Proxy’s ingenuousness. « THE FUTURE IS NOW ».

THE BOOMZERS - ROWENTAH !

DILEMN - EXTENTED WORLDS

Release date : February 2011 :

Release date : February 2011 :

Italian duo The Boomzers composed of Marco and Brian - after several collaborations with Crux Records - returns for a brand new Ep, with Boxon Records. Building on the success of their latest EP «WTF!», the group piles up again for a series of breakneck pace tracks. Each song, sounding very inspired, is a trail of dust for the ears. Rowentah! includes seven tracks for a powerful and explosive dancefloor. The Italian electronic scene is one of the most prolific in recent years... Indeed, behind them, more than a dozen remixes of electro tracks of the moment. They are the worthy heirs of producers like Crookers, Switch or Diplo. Ubiquitous in the electro banger sphere for the past eight months, the duo stood out on the web, through digital outputs. This has opened the doors of the most popular scenes from Germany, Portugal, France and Belgium. Rowentah! is brilliantly remixed by the duo Belzebass composed of Mr.K + SplatterBoy, also from Italy. By itself, a mix electro-trash, nu rave, metal and disco serving an energetic music.

Dilemn is one of those artists composing his own music, producing, and playing on stage out of proportion. It does not only capture his audience, he places it into another world, just the time to deliver a Ep, a live set, and soon an album. The extended versions - originally from the album « Better Worlds » - of the tracks « Clapping », « The Shaker », « Like This » and the version of « Catch The Looks » taken over by Dilemn, are specially designed to edicts the DJs, for this Ep available on March 7, 2011. Smurfie Syco (last foal of Dizzee Rascal’s label, Dirtee Stank) takes the reins with Dilemn for the Dyebox’s remix of « Catch The Looks », the voices are killing in the name of music; and so the song is a real energy drink, which will surely be imprinted in your subconscious. « Like This » track is probably the most electro-explosive song of the Ep, a patchwork of samples remixable ever and ever. On the other hand, « Clapping » is light and bouncy, loaded with funky sounds and embracing as well analog 70’s synth as talk box riffs. « The Shaker », last but not least, is as its name is suggesting, a real earthquake for the ears.

The DJ’s dreamy Ep, « Extended Worlds » will be available a week before the official release of the album « Better Worlds », because at Boxon Rec the cherry comes before the cake ! T.RAUMSCHMIERE - T.R.I.O. & REMIXES

DILEMN - BETTER WORLDS

Release date : March 2011 :

Release date : March 2011 :

In the 90’s, industrial, punk rock and hardcore gave Marco Haas (aka T.Raumschmiere) his first musical direction. In 2003, he was releasing the famous «Monstertruckdriver», and «The Game Is Not Over (feat. Miss Kittin)»; the same year, his live and his own label Shitkatapult were listed in several Reader Poll Top 10s. This was followed by remixes for especially the prestigious Dave Gahan (singer of Depeche Mode, editor’s note) and Goldfrapp. After touring continuously since 2003, T.Raumschmiere is releasing his next Ep called «The Rave Is On» or «T.R.I.O.» on the french and dynamic Boxon Records label. «T.R.I.O.» has three electro tracks : «The Rave Is On», «Entertain Me» and «Duster», so every addict of electronic music will be happy with this pack which is on time for the rendez-vous..

The very best producers of electro as 2Many DJs, Boys Noize, Erol Alkan, Bloody Beetroots, or those from english breakbeat, already playlisted him at several occasions ... In fact, DILEMN has released more than twenty original tracks and remixes on French and international labels, giving him the chance to play around the world (Europe, Canada, Australia and USA). Among his early compositions, we find « Ghetto Town » recorded on the Canadian label Turbo, and a remix of Shadow Dancer « Cowbois », signed on Boys Noize Records. His Ep « Cosmica », released on November 2008 on Boxon Records, received a warm welcome from the press. And shortly after, his remix of WAT’s « Ground Zero », released on March 2009 on the same label, ranks in the top 10 Beatport sales only two weeks after its release (in the category Indie Dance / Nu Disco ). Then, are following multiple remixes and EPs which led him each time on new paths, new approaches to composition and push his limits. And this artist is not satisfied to pick the public where he wants to be transported, he can also bring him there. Currently, the release of a first album, « Better Worlds » is going on. Scheduled for March 2011, he signed it on Boxon Records, featuring the voice of Blake (Puppetmastaz), Mc Youthstar, or even Miss Trouble or Smurfie Syco, last foal of the Dizzee Rascal’s label...

VARIOUS ARTISTS - BOXON MAKES ME BLOODY

GRS CLUB - EASY ROCKET «REMIXES»

Release date : April 2011 :

Release date : April 2011 :

Boxon Makes Me Happy, released in early 2009 was a real critical success. The first true compilation of the label was launched. Boxon Makes Me Crazy, the second test, released in March 2010 followed a route almost identical. The label therefore reiterate the experience this year with a new Lp full of surprises. With Boxon Makes Me Bloody, we move up a gear. Same as above, taking place on the artistic choices of electro world musicians, known and unknown, that the label likes and supports. The cover of this compilation 2011 is made by Matthieu Lauret, following a competition organized by the label.

GRS CLUB is a duo from Bordeaux to multiple influences, the confluence of the new wave, pop and rock. In 2007, the Naïve records and sign their song « Fake» from their debut album « Rainbow Galaxy » for the compilation « Give Me Some Rock’n’Roll », with guest such as Radiohead, The Kills, or Santogold. Their music is like electro-rock but with that little something exotic-pop candor, it is difficult not to love. Their identity is signed Freak Fabric : The EP’s cover in a very refined style of the band’s universe. This Ep is a kind of foretaste of the Easy Rocket album will look like, since will be released several months later. Berenice and Manuel, armed with a few galactic keyboards surfing on blown beats, themselves driven by rhythmic bass lines and explosive guitar riffs, seem like the soft vitamin touch of this electronic spring. The Ep has five tracks, including original and four remixes, respectively led by Punx Soundcheck, The Boomzers, Tuff Wheelz and D.Vice. These remixes respect the soul of the song original and are careful to not distorting the voice and the melodies. The single « Easy Rocket » will be supported by a video clip where geometric spaceships invade the sky, sowing panic in the crowd and turning its inhabitants into hungry zombies. InDaPROD (producer of the clip) illustrates the song in a perfect aesthetics style. First to enter the scene, Punx Soundcheck have already produced their third album, no wonder, they had worked in production since 1998. Here, the band expanded to new members, offer a remix of both rhythmic and melodic.

PARKER&LEWIS - WET T-SHIRT CONTEST

WAT - KILL KILL

Release date : May 2011 :

Release date : June 2011 :

PARKER&LEWIS, behind this nickname inspired by the eponymic Tv show are hiding Romain Garnier and Johann Kinder. This young duo from Bordeaux was formed in 2007. Their sound combines dance music 90s and fidget house for an explosive result rather close to the booty music. Already present on two compilations and having received twice the reward from « Bordeaux Revelations » by Bordeaux Electro, they are now part of the Boxon Records’s team. Their DJ set didn’t leave indifferent size as Popof, Congorock, Foamo or Strip Steve with whom they could share the stage. The release of « Wet T-shirt Contest » Ep only in digital is planned for May 30th at Boxon Records. This Ep contains two original tracks : « Wet T-shirt Contest »(in collaboration with Don Nola) as well as « Too Late » and comes along with 6 remixes.

Kill Kill is the name of the last Ep of WAT, resulting from the electro rock odyssey WONDER. The vinyl release is scheduled for June 6th, 2011. For the digital output, not before June 13th. A video clip, filmed in Los Angeles, accompanies the output of the song, with Rémy Cayuela (One More Prod) at the helm. The track, electro tinged funk and hip-hop, sounds like the soundtrack of a rebounding road movie. Kill Kill is an indirect reference to movies from the 60’s, and among others, those of Russ Meyer. Faster Pussycat Kill Kill, does it ring a bell? For the vinyl, an original version of Kill Kill (available since november 2010 on the album WONDER), of course, but WAT has spoiled us with four remixes, all (or most) from the foals produced by Boxon Rec. Dilemn opens the show first. However, he is not at his first test with WAT. Indeed, he created a personal version of their song Ground Zero in 2009. The remix is devilishly effective, the beat per minutes runaway, accompanied on the climb by the color theme of the original track. The artist’s first album, Better Worlds, is available since march 2011. Beat Torrent, the two djs from Nantes, illustrate themselves in their favorite subject : the remix. Real animals on stage, they combine powerful video and sound in their live sets, to serve the show. The version available on this EP is a low tempo, helped by an efficacious rhytmic and powerful sounds.

The original « Wet T-Shirt Contest » (Feat. Don Nola) combines electro/club-booty/dance. The trio of Bordeaux Romain Garnier, Johann Kinder et Sébastien Vasquez offers us an appropriate, effective and lively dynamics !

NOISE INVADERS - TIMES REMIXES

VARIOUS ARTISTS - BEST OF BOXON 2009 -2010

Release date : July 2011 :

Release date : July 2011 :

Noise Invaders, the mysterious disguised duo from Russian label Mako Records, incarnates with the EP “Time” the new franco-russian collaboration. Released at Boxon Records, the EP contains the original version of “Time”, available at Mako Records on an eponymous album, with 4 remixes 100% Boxon.

It was hard to choose between all the tracks already released on BOXON RECORDS (distributed among eleven vinyl releases from March 2008 to June 2009). We had to make a decision about it, and we chose these «tresory tunes» in order to represent the 2008/2009 Boxon vintage.

If the album represents the band’s debut as individual compositors, the name of Noise Invaders is already famous in the business : we especially remember their atypical remixes for artists such as Chromeo (Turbo Rec), Polymorphic, Aerotronic and The W.

VARIOUS ARTISTS - BOXON MAKES ME ALIVE Release date : June 2012 : To confirm his dynamism in 2012, the young label from Bordeaux Boxon Records is releasing again his annual compilations proposing a new edition called Boxon Makes Me Alive. Gathering artists from varied musical backgrounds for a journey of electronic sound discovery, this new record offers no less than twelve new explosive tracks. Once again, diversity is the key-word of this collection, inviting a dozen artists from national and international electro scene, travelling over a large display of influences and sounds. Taking off from Belgium with duet Aerotronic’s powerful electro, you’ll pop in Mulhouse to hear the dirty keyboards and snapping percussions of Valy Mo, before an italian stopover for the swinging electro-house deeds of Kick-OH. A junction of electro and breakbeat is awaiting you in Paris with Spaam, and so is the forever good Anaxander in Lilles. For quality hip-hop, let’s turn to Germany for Ostblockschlampen and to Reims for young talent Voquab. Home, sweet home, goes the saying ! Boxon Records doesn’t forget its local scene and invites producer kiGma as well as the latest label’s signed artist : talented Blacktoys from Paris and his groundbreaking, vigorous style. More than ever today, Boxon makes us alive... with style.

LigOne - FROM TURNTABLISM TO ELECTRO Release date : June 2012 : Boxon Records is delighted to welcome the talented DMC world champion DJ LigOne for his new mixtape « From Turnablism To Electro ». Originally from Clermont-Ferrand, he starts mixing in 2003 and soon finds his passion for scratching and turnablism techniques. His relentless work quickly gets him to become a driving force in the new generation of french DJs. He’s the DMC winner for France two times in a row in 2009 and 2010, and reaches, that same year, the ultimate title of DMC world champion. In the tradition of legendary artists such as DJ Craze, Q-Bert or C2C, his style grows with Hip-Hop influences and becomes a smart combination of massive scratches, precise beat-juggling and musical choices. But the man has several feathers in his cap and recently distinguishes himself in another range : electronic music. In the bicephalous act Bluescreens that includes his sidekick StoneWay, LigOne renders energetic tracks with Drum&Bass and electro influences, such as « Bad Reasoning » and « For Real » which attracted Boxon Records so much they went on and created this collaborative record. From the start of the mixtape, you know what you’re in for: 48 minutes of a tough, mesmerizing sound, precise scratches, and an absolutely constant energy. An eclectic selection too : although mainly Boxon artists, LigOne joyfully plays on different styles, bouncing from Costello and Tom Deluxx’s electro house to Bluescreens’ dubstep, even going for a bit of techno. Fast, various and unnoticed transitions between the tracks do a great job of consistency and smoothness.

VARIOUS ARTISTS - BOXON MAKES ME ALIVE

Release date : June 2012 : Boxon Records is happy to have now Aerotronic in its crew for the Ep « New Age » to be released really soon. Belgium natives Jordi Moonen and Laurens Van Staabergergen, a.k.a Aerotronic, were very young when they discovered their common taste for music, soon to become a passion for electronic. By dint of musical experiments and hard work, they got a few labels like Mako Records (Proxy’s label), Crux and Traktor Records to notice and sign their original productions, as well as their remixes. Their electro-trash style put them on the international map and their tracks are now playlisted by Boys Noize, Mr Oizo, Mixhell, Steve Aoki, Dada Life, Don Rimini, NT89. In a recent e-mail exchange, they told Bordeaux- based label Boxon Records about the wish to distinguish themselves in techno music : they did so and proved their producing skills with the new Ep « New Age », four exclusive tracks carefully selected by Julien Minet, a.k.a DCFTD. « We’ve been working for almost a year with Aerotronic, on their new Ep but also on their new musical style. These 4 tracks, mixed with fancy, almost minimalist techno, are a real candy for the ears. They’ll be released on Boxon Records and give a sweet glimpse of what the belgian duet is about to accomplish on the dancefloor. » (DCFTD)
