Your participation in this year’s Hike the Hill is more important than ever. As Congress moves forward with comprehensive tax reform, the credit union tax exemption faces a serious threat of elimination. The bankers are aggressively mounting a campaign to encourage credit union taxation and we need the full force of our credit union community to show Congress that we are united in our efforts. Credit unions are known for our grassroots lobbying strength, and we need to demonstrate it now more than ever. We must not let the bankers have the last word with federal lawmakers on the way we operate and the future of the credit union movement. We need to have our strongest showing ever for this year’s Hike The Hill to show our delegation that if they support credit unions we will be there to support them! If you have any questions regarding the 2013 LSCU Hike the Hill, or any other grassroots advocacy activities, please contact me by phone at 1-866-231-0545, ext. 1012 or jared.ross@lscu.coop.
