Intro
From the morning to the night, the city composes of different forms of sounds, and I always hear them and feel them. The rhythm of the sounds always influences my lifestyle, daily routines, and emotions. Sometimes the sounds motivate me to work harder, and sometimes the noisy elements affect my mood. Different times have various components of sounds to formulate the

moments. In the sound system, I want to find the relationship between sounds and city scenes which surround me in one day. This story is a record of my one daily life and the sounds of the city.

WAKE UP
As a design student, I am used to setting a regular morning alert every day. The first sound that I heard was an audio sound. I opened the window, The mechanical sounds full of my hearing. “That is the noise of the city.� I thought. Living in the downtown is so restricted. There is no natural sound outside.

STARTING MY WORK IN STARBUCKS
It was a busy morning. I went to Starbucks and started my work. The sweet cappuccino and the music motivated me to do my tense works. People did not talk loudly. The music brought the productive rhythm. It kept me in the right situation.

The coffee machine kept working all the morning. The staffs were steaming milk. The steaming sound all around the store. It's shrill, but it was organic and soft.

ON THE ROUTE
After working hard at Starbuck, I was going to take a rest at the park. The traffic noise was everywhere on the route. I felt the sounds was very structured. I listened to the fire truck horn, people's general talking, and a guy who was skating through the street. Then, I came to the park. One of the sound into my ear is the natural sound. It's time to relax.

THE NATURAL SOUND IN YERBA BUENA GARDEN >>>
After doing my works at the coffee shop, I needed a comfortable space to grab some food for lunch. Yerba Buena Garden is the best location to take a rest. There are many natural and organic sounds at this place.

THE MARKET STREET
“Beep... Beep...” The sound of traffic light represents the Market Street. Afternoon the sound of Market Street was harmony. Lots of people went through the street regularly. Sometimes I could hear the streetcars. The sound gives the street a feeling of iconic San Francisco style.

The sound of Vintage streetcars is loud in the street. This sound is impressive because it is not natural, but I can hear the soft, harmony, and nostalgic. I can hear the geometric and metallic components are hitting.

I heard The sound of ambulance and fire truck on the Market Street. The highpitched noise hurt my ears. That was the unpleasant moment when I walked through the street.

THE POWELL STREET
At the Powell Street, there were crowds of people waiting for the cable car. The tourists were here and talked with different languages. I was trying to listen all of talking.

I went shopping at the Powell Street, and I was observing the tourists for a while. The stereo sound of people's talking was all around my ears. Cable car staffs were turning the cable car, and making a sharp sound but pleasing. I thought tourists were excited about all the sounds. The sounds could make them eager for enjoying the trip.

BACK HOME
In the evening, it's time to come back to my home. There were lots of people getting off work and came back to home as well. There are lots of cars, motorcycles stuck on the street. I can hear the sound of the traffic. The sound of cars and motorcycles is like a massive and vigorous wave. The strong sound made me feel like that it is the sound of the city. This is the form of the city. The sound aroused me to know I was here. I was at the moment.

I came back to my home. Everything was so quiet again. I still can hear some little sound outside of my department. It just felt like some little thing outside.
