Ihad no artistic talent. I couldn’t draw or paint, and I was very close to just giving up.
I’m sure many of you can identify with the feelings I had — overwhelmed, lacking confidence, and, up to that point, I had not received helpful instruction.
That was the key — helpful instruction! Things began to turn around for me when an acquaintance pointed me to an excellent artist who was also a great instructor.
As my art skills increased, so did my confidence. From there, it became my lifelong goal to help others get the instruction they need in order to live their artistic dreams — whether a talented hobbyist or a high-end professional earning thousands (or even millions) for their art.
If you’re struggling or frustrated with your own art not turning out the way you want, you’re in the right place! We offer art instruction videos as well as virtual and in-person events featuring some of the most successful artists and instructors in the world.
Look through this Wishbook like a child looking at a Wishbook full of toys — circle artists and styles you like, flag pages with sticky notes, and then keep it handy as you prioritize your dream instructors and build your own personal library. The best part of owning these videos is you can watch them on your schedule, pause to return later, and even paint right along with the artist so you can get good practice time!

We use the same high-end cameras used for films and TV shows to give you crystal-clear HD-quality picture and sound. Artist Kevin Macpherson is about to change the way you paint — and see — forever! Be warned — your paintings are going to improve as you immerse yourself in Kevin’s Magic Grid system, helping your painting life become easier and more fun.
With over 40 years of experience as a professional artist, author, and instructor, Kevin is the right guide to help you see differently, create higher quality paintings, and advance your artwork to a place where you are proud to show it off, and even to sell it!
Once you see this Magic Grid System that has taken Kevin years to master, you’re going to want to incorporate it into your own artwork immediately. You will appreciate Kevin’s innate ability to simplify the painting process, without ever compromising quality.
With Kevin’s expert instruction, this video course offers you a unique approach to painting by using the Magic Grid method — something many highly-talented artists have learned from Kevin and found to be priceless when it comes to their own artwork — we’re confident you’ll feel the same way.
Kevin’s teaching style is casual, thorough, and yet humorous, making the learning interesting and much easier to retain. From
the very start, you’ll not only break out in deep belly laughs, you’ll see that Kevin’s humor is a way for him to offer you memorable lessons. Having fun while learning has been proven to be one of the best ways to learn for humans of every age!
In addition to the chuckles, you’ll also have many aha moments as you soak in all that Kevin so freely shares.
Beginning with a review of the fundamental elements of painting, Kevin then takes a dip into the benefits of the Magic Grid as he shows you several of his own
paintings to reveal the underlying structures that contribute to the strength of each award-winning work of art.
From there, Kevin moves into a series of exercises that will help you understand the use of the Magic Grid so you can create your own. Instantly, you’ll see how this grid will simplify painting for you, making you more aware of your strengths and helping you become stronger in the areas where you’re weaker. Overall, you’re going to find the entire painting process so much easier … and way more fun!
Kevin and The Magic Grid System will offer you the freedom to take your art exactly where you want to go with it. Kevin says you can think of the grid system like a road trip — the smaller intersections are the interesting stops along the way to your final destination. Using this line of thinking, you’ll be able to engage the viewers of your artwork by showing them the path that leads through the story of the painting, ending at the main point of interest.
Finally, almost as a two-for-one bonus, you’ll follow Kevin outdoors to put the grid to use as you paint a figure in the landscape from life. Get ready to spend a pleasant day painting by the pond.
You’ll see how to manipulate and transform what you see in order to make much better paintings. You’ll also enjoy the more painterly results you’ll get by avoiding frequently over-used blending techniques.
Be prepared for a shift in thinking from focusing on things to different ways to use the grid as you plan your brushwork, color, shapes, edges, and values to add dimension and interest.
In addition to the detailed instructions Kevin provides, he’ll also demonstrate a full start-tofinish painting in oil of a figure in the landscape. Enjoy the high-speed view of the demo painting — always a fan favorite, as well as a digital gallery of Kevin’s work that is set to music. Best of all, Kevin shares his personal and professional insights with you.
Most people who see beautiful paintings wish they could create beautiful paintings too, but believe natural talent is required. Though they instinctively understand that a piano master had to start out by learning the basic notes and scales and following a process, there is a mistaken belief that painters are born with talent. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Painting and drawing are a learned process. Anyone who can learn to type, or can follow a recipe to cook, or can follow simple instructions, can learn to paint. That’s pretty much everybody.
Too many people take art lessons or try to learn on their own, find themselves confused and discouraged, then just give up. In a quest to teach a million people to paint, artist and art publisher Eric Rhoads has found a way to eliminate that confusion and discouragement by creating the world’s easiest painting instruction system.
Rhoads claims that he lacked talent and couldn’t even draw a stick figure, but always wanted to paint. He even went to an art class, but was so intimidated by the work being produced that he turned around and left because he knew he didn’t have the talent to produce such beautiful paintings.
Thankfully, Rhoads met a master painter who had studied in the lineage of Italian, French, British, and American masters, and whose life mission was to take a complicated process, break it down, and make it simple. His guidance resulted in a beautiful first painting — and Rhoads’ life in art as an artist and art publisher.
Rhoads realized that painting is like music, which is based on just a few notes on a keyboard. So he developed a “keyboard” for learning art, removing the stress and overcomplication. Artists following this system can learn basic skills quickly, without drawing or painting ability, and without relying on “talent.”
Now you can become an artist. The system is 100% guaranteed, and if you follow the system and are not creating beautiful paintings in just
days, we’ll send your money back. It just requires your watching a video, following the stepby-step system, and practicing.
There is also a line of products developed for this system to make it easier, though you can do it without these tools.

Should an artist start a painting with a rock-solid plan or go with their heart and see what develops? For Douglas Fryer, the answer is both.
You’re about to discover that your best paintings will come when you blend a good plan with your own style of spontaneity.
Watch and listen carefully as Doug offers instruction and a complete demonstration of how an indirect, layered approach to your paintings can invite unexpected and
fascinating surprises to emerge in your work.
This video course is just right for artists at every skill level who want to create high quality paintings and still showcase their own personal style.
Doug is a very intentional artist who has created techniques to deliberately bring in abstraction and simplification in order to open up the power of suggestion, intuition, and spiritual or psychological states. Doug’s
methods give rise to the strong feelings viewers of your works will have that can’t be invoked by subject matter alone.
Doug is an expert at finding the perfect balance between planning your paintings and fully expressing yourself. Doug’s reassuring voice will help keep you focused on the learning and help you find a whole new excitement in putting these techniques to work for yourself.

Carl Bretzke deeply studies a subject … just as a doctor studies a patient. This method comes second nature to Carl who spent the first 30 years of his working life as a doctor.
Now, a highly respected professional artist for 20 years, Carl has devoted an incredible amount of time investigating a specific subject that is universally appealing … sunsets.
In Sunset Secrets, you’ll benefit from Carl’s intense study and how he has transferred that knowledge into painting methods and techniques that have earned him accolades and awards for his extensive works.
Generating highly-emotional responses from nearly everyone, an open sky showcasing the setting sun
is an attention grabber — a welcome interruption, even on our busiest days.
For you as an artist, these fleeting moments can trigger your familiar sense of urgent creativity … the desire to forever document not only the breathtaking scene that lies before your eyes, but to also capture the feelings that come along with it.
Maybe you’ve tried sunsets many times but feel like you always fall short.
You could continue on this frustrating path or you can study with Carl who will help you achieve satisfaction and success much sooner than you’ve ever imagined.
It all starts here.

You may have heard others refer to painting en plein air, which is sometimes pronounced “plain air” and sometimes pronounced “plen air.” The phrase comes from the French word for “outside.” But enough about pronunciations: What is plein air painting?
Simply put, plein air painting is painting outside. Thousands of artists have begun this practice by taking their supplies into cities and urban areas to reflect the hustle and bustle of people in their daily lives, as well as to mountains, streams,
forests, and deserts to capture the magnificence of nature on canvas. “I’ve been involved in the arts for more than 20 years, and one of the most exciting phenomena to happen in that time has been the explosion of interest in painting outdoors,” says Kelly Kane, editor of PleinAir Magazine.
Plein air painters love painting outdoors for many reasons. One of the most common is the act of being outside and connecting with nature, along with the fact that when painting outdoors, one
must make quick decisions about elements such as composition and color. Working quickly keeps you in the moment and lets you get the essence of the scene onto your canvas before the light or other factors change.
Some artists consider a painting complete the moment they pack up their gear. Others will finish their work in the studio with their studies and photo references — there is no wrong way.
To learn more about this movement, watch our “Outside the Lines” documentary, from the publishers of PleinAir Magazine.
John Pototschnik is an artist who knows how to look at color just like you would a timeless recipe — a perfect blend of fine ingredients that create a dish that is to be savored. But unlike a long and detailed recipe, John makes color mixing a whole lot easier for you because he sticks to a very limited palette.
John’s first video, Limited Palette Landscapes is an incredible lesson for creating breathtaking landscapes with just a few colors. You’ll see how easy it is to create the right color harmony that will make your paintings vibrate and create a deep emotional connection for viewers.
After the success of Limited Palette Landscapes, John came back to the studio to share his entire limited palette color system. This system is contained within a video + companion book.
For Unlimited Color with a Limited Palette, John painted 50 small paintings of the exact same subject. Because of the color selections, each painting looked entirely different from the others. Some were filled with sunlight, others showed moody green skies, a few were nocturne (night) paintings. The different effects and moods each one portrayed was amazing.
And what’s even more amazing is that John painted each of these with only three colors plus white!
John explains that when he’s looking for a certain mood or feel, he goes through his library of color studies (over 1000 of them!), picks what he wants, and then looks at his color wheel references where he documented how he previously created that mood with certain colors.
The video and book combo is the best way for you to really benefit from everything John’s color system has to offer. In the video, you’ll learn
all about how the system works and then begin to explore and document color combinations. The book offers even more color combinations and a useful tool (included) that will help you get your color mixing just right.
• Master the ONE color most artists never get right
• The THREE best ways to immediately change up your color scheme
• Feel confident that all your colors are going to get along beautifully
• John’s Top 5 Tips that will help the quality of your paintings grow by leaps and bounds
• Ever hesitate to mix colors? Didn’t mix enough? Mixed too much? Wasted paint? John gives you the scoop on solving all of these!
• Love muddy-looking paint? Didn’t think so! Do THIS and avoid the mud!
• Painting from a photograph that didn’t quite capture the colors you remember? No problem — you’ll know just what to do now!
• Pick your desired mood, turn to that page, and BAM — the mixing formula is right there for you!
• And much, much more…
Through paint mixing demonstrations and visual aids, you’ll see how John determines the mood of a painting by first deciding on the color scheme. No more deciding color by color as you go — that work will already be done!
In addition to creating numerous paint studies, he also demonstrates a full start-to-finish painting using his color system.
If you use John’s techniques, you’ll find there is no wrong answer when it comes to color.
John Potoschnik will revolutionize your use of color.
About Your Instructor: John Pototschnik has been painting professionally since 1982 and is an Art Renewal Center Living Master. John paints from a keen interest in depicting the truth about life in a naturalistic way that is free from frills and bravado. His expertise in painting with a limited palette is a beautiful reflection of this approach. John desires to give society paintings that transcend the culture and its ever-changing tastes … paintings that speak to the heart.
