Pixel, a word invented from Picture + Element, is the smallest element of an image that can be individually processed in a video display system. Each pixel is a sample of an original image; more samples typically provide more accurate representations of the original. The intensity of each pixel is variable. In color image systems, a color is typically represented by three or four component intensities such as red, green, and blue, or cyan, magenta, yellow, and black.

SO LUTIO N ________

Ever since I took a course about user experience and interface design, I instantly felt in love with the infinite possiblities in digital designing, it is all started with a single pixel. A pixel is very adaptive, it can change into any color on different occasions, and I believe as a designer, it is important to be adaptive and versatile to come up with solutions in different occasions. All the works in this book are like a pixel, and combining them displays who I am as a designer. Thank you for looking and I hope you enjoy. H

As iOS7 just came out at the time this project began, it really encourages designers to throw away skeuomorphism and use flat design, therefore I brought simple shapes and fine line icons into play with contrasting colors. Users can easily access different sections and look at informations they need such as: schedule, assignment list, forum, etc.

Create a new identity application system and brand guideline for an airline. Students will be responsible for the creation of a logo and applications including: stationery, poster, website, livery, coffee mug, etc. These applications should have a consistent look & feel with the guideline.

SO LUTIO N ________

Hawaiian Airlines has been serving people from and to Hawaii for more than 70 years, as they are expanding their fleets and serving new destinations, it would be a great opportunity for a stronger, more modern upgrade of the current identity. I used colors inspired by the tropical elements of Hawaii and applied patterns to create a welcoming feeling of the Aloha State, but retaining the spirit of the brand—the Pualani lady.

Parrot is a language learning app which users learn a language from the basic and they will discover new words as the game's story progress. The user will repeat after the pronunciation of the word, therefore the app is called Parrot.

The project consist of a stand-alone, digital-based piece that tells the story of your explorations and discoveries. It must include three or more information graphics in the form of diagrams, maps, or visual explanations. The information graphics must be integrated into the final digital-based design of a tablet device, rather than placing a graphic on a design, the graphic need to be integrated within the design.

Ever since I came to San Francisco I've noticed the homeless problem and everything more expensive than other cities. This would be a good opportunity for me to know more about this city by doing research and come up with an interactive iPad app to show the gap between rich and poor. It will be a 5-page infograph with illustrated buildings.

The job will be to design a 56 pages collector's edition experimental coffee table book with experimental typography and heavy bodytext content. Develop the concept around a form of architecture manmade or one found in nature, expressed from an experimental, visceral point of view. This book is a high end collector's edition sold by specialty architectural book stores.

SO LUTIO N ________

I picked Zen Garden as I admire the minimal design and the use of symbolism of it. Using the symbols found in the Japanese Sand Garden (Water, Sand, Rock) to represent the importance of admiring our nature and have a calm, relax journey while reading this coffee table book. I used typography and pictures of elements of the garden to describe the history of Zen, and how the zen monks develop the zen aesthetic to build the zen gardens.

Create an app that gets people's attention. It can be anything: From a new way to find the cocktail recipe, to helping people in third-world countries by loaning some money or service, or simply a note-taking to a new efficiency level. It doesn't have to be serious, but will make an impact.

SO LUTIO N ________

Surcle is a concept travel app that helps you find what you want in the city. When I travel with my friends I always wanted to make an app like this, easily explore the place according to your preference, scan and learn about interesting things in every city, and able to download the map to your phone when there is no internet around.

Design a 3-day typographic conference experimental in content, the job will be to create a conference that address a pertinent issue facing the topic of typography and the roll designers play when using typography as a means to communicate. The possibilities are limitless but are to be conveyed in an experimental means.

SO LUTIO N ________

As a designer, we strive to be as creative as possible to come up with new and refreshing ideas. However we always find ourselves not focused, empty minded and tired. We need to understand how our brain works and be able to control it. The mission is to create a conference to raise awareness of how we could make use of the new technology to monitor brainwaves and train our mind to produce a desired effect. Inspired by Muse—a brainwave monitoring device, which could change the typeface you are using depends on the brainwave state you are, we want to explore more possibilities on a typographic point of view.
