1. The Architect The design of the two old and declining dwellings was made by Peter Legge Associates, located in Dublin. The company was founded in 1961 by the current director Peter B. Senior Legge. The company mainly focussed in recent years on housing and rebuilding following the Irish style. Nowadays the company operates on different fields, such as architecture, interior and landscaping. Because the employes are originally Irish, they have a strong relationship with the Connemara Project, and it can be said that the project was performed perfectly.

interior
Interior The interior is, in contrast to the exterior, very tight and modern finished. The kitchen is very minimal, calm and extra warm, thanks to the warm colors and wood use. Light wood, silver and copper are used to create a relaxed, yet stylish atmosphere. The green of the outside nature is in contrast to the orange of the interior. Also, the lamps which are used have additional influence on the style of the interior.

pearance of the façade. This detail seems to be a bit of a mystery. The way of constructing this detail is not visible at all, which provides a certain curiosity.
Pic. 7: Sketch of chosen detail
Except the detail that we’re focussing on; it’s just a aluminium frame that is mounted in the outer wall. The outer wall is interrupted by a groove of 30/35 millimetre. In that groove a waterproof membrane is placed, which is mounted on the inner wall. This membrane makes sure that any liquids in the air layer will be discharged to the stacked stone outer wall, outside of the glass frame. That’s why the membrane is placed on top of the frame. Further, the wood frame is mounted beneath the concrete lintel, which bears the inner part of the outer wall, and the inner wall itself.
