Gromit boosts business THORNBURY’S traders are reporting an increase in visitors since the Gromit sculpture was installed at the St Mary Centre. Gromit has been brought to the town by the Thornbury Chamber of Commerce as part of this year’s Gromit Unleashed 2
Trail, which is raising money for Bristol Children’s Hospital. It features 67 sculptures including Wallace and Feather McGraw, and Thornbury’s statue is the most northerly. Ian Black, manager at ‘News 4 U’, said: “It’s far busier, it’s
a combination of factors; the weather, the Gromit, the carnival, a new store recently opened, footfall is up and the feelgood factor is growing. Gromit is an asset to the whole town.” Full story on page 7.
