BIOGRAPHY On March 31, 1985‌ Jennifer Ann Dickerson was born into the drug and violence infested city of Compton, CA. Trapped amongst the harsh realities that Compton presented, Jennifer found herself struggling with the same day to day obstacles that seemed to plague her community. Finding joy in writing, Jennifer discovered the freedom to express feelings that she had been holding inside. Writing also allowed her to embrace her love for music, especially hip hop. Being heavily influenced by her environment and the melodies she was exposed to, Jennifer eventually found herself behind the microphone.
BIOGRAPHY cont. At the end of 2009, while she was in the process of losing her job, Jennifer made the decision to focus on music full time. She then created the stage name, J. ANN and begin developing herself as an artist. Over the last seven years, J. ANN has developed her skills with full confidence that she has what it takes to be a great artist. She envisions herself surpassing the status of “just another independent artistâ€? and strives to become a well-respected female emcee that is known for her lyrical skill, artistic flow, and the ability to create music that will remain in the souls of people forever. J. ANN recently signed a deal with CREATE. Digital Music and will be releasing new music soon!!! Stay tuned‌
