THE BIG FIND!

The Big Find! Let me tell you the story of the time I found Noah’s Ark.

One day last summer, I was playing in my backyard with my father. We were playing catch.

As I threw the ball I heard my mother say, “Jimmy?” “Yes?” I replied “We’re going to Mt. Ararat in Turkey!” My mom replied. “How long have you been planning this!” I asked. “Last week I played a game on the radio and I won!” My mom answered. “Oh ok. When should I pack?” I asked. “Yes we are leaving in 3 hours!” my mother shouted. “Ok.” I responded.

I walked to my room and started packing. It was so funny finding exotic things I had forgotten that I had.

As I finished packing my mom yelled, “Come on or we’ll miss our flight!”

I ran down the steps with my suitcase rolling behind. We went into my dad’s light blue McLaren.

It was a fun car ride listening to the radio and singing out loud. We ran into the airport hoping we wouldn’t miss our flight.

We finally got to our gate A4. I was so excited when the gate attendant started boarding my flight.

I walked into the plane and sat down. It was a long flight. It was 10 hours long, but I stayed up. There was a ton of turbulence and I felt sick. After a while it stopped but I still felt very nauseated.

Finally, we landed after what seemed like a day. My mom whispered, “Wake up we’re here.”

I groaned and walked out of the plane. After immigration, we entered the world of the Middle East. We called a taxi and drove to Mt. Ararat.

A taxi ride, plus a plane trip could this get any worse? I thought. As we arrived, I saw a donkey stable. I was confused. I asked my mom, “Are we riding donkeys?” “Yes, yes we are. It’s the only transportation to the top of the mountain.” “Oh.” I replied

We rented our donkeys and started riding. I felt even sicker looking far down at the ground. The ride was very slow and we lingered along. As we reached the top, the donkeys went wild and off course. Then, they ran down the side of the mountain. It was terrifying we were all screaming at the top of our lungs. I was about to throw up with turbulence, a car ride, and donkeys flying down a mountain, it did get worse.

We got off at a flat land and I stumbled on a stick. As I looked closer, it was more like a piece of wood. Then my mom and I looked all around us and then we saw it, Noah’s Ark.

I asked my father, “Is that actually Noah’s Ark?” “Son, I think it is.” He replied. We stood there in shock for a while speechless. We came back down the mountain and boarded our plane for home. There was less turbulence on the way back. We reached home and I hopped in bed and went to sleep. We will never forget our trip to Turkey.
