Joe and his family had just landed at Baghdad International Airport. It was early morning, and Joe was with his mom and dad. Joe’s parents were mountain climbers and they were here to climb Mt. Ararat. This was Joe’s first time climbing and he was looking forward to it. “I’m so excited!” said Joe “Don’t get so excited yet Joe. We still have to get to Mt. Ararat.” Joe’s mom said.

Not long after that Joe and his family got on a bus to Mt. Ararat. The mountain rose from the ground like the sun rising. It was beautiful. “Mom, when are we going to climb the mountain?” Joe asked. “Tomorrow Joe,” Joe’s mom said. In the morning, Joe was very excited. He and his family went to a guide to get equipped with gear to climb. After they finished getting ready they got on their way.

“Yay, we’re climbing a mountain, we’re climbing a mountain!” Joe shouted happily. “Mountain climbing isn’t all fun and games, it can be dangerous.” Joe’s dad said. Joe’s dad was right. Mountain climbing was hard. “I’m tired. Can we stop and rest,” Joe asked. “We’re not even halfway there,” Joe’s dad replied.

Just when it seemed like it couldn’t get any worse for Joe something under him broke and he fell. “Are you okay Joe!” Joe’s parents shouted. “I’m okay, just a little bruised. Also, what is this thing? It seems like many pieces of wood are down here.” Joe said. “No clue,” his mom said. “I heared that Noah’s Ark is supposedly here on Mt. Ararat. Since ancient times, the legend says that Noah’s Ark is lost on this mountain.” the guide said. “What else on Mt. Ararat would be wood?” Joe said.

“The first thing we should do is get Joe out of there, and then collect some pieces of the wood,” his mom said. “Lets use my rope,” said Joe’s mom. “Hold on tight Joe, were going to pull you out,” His dad said. “This is hard.” his mom said. They pulled with all their might to get Joe out. After they got Joe out they all had a rope burn. They had to wrap their hands with bandages. “Lets get a piece of wood from the ark for scientists and then go home,” Joe said.

Joe, his family, and the guide successfully got down the mountain. The next day Joe and his family took a day long bus ride back to Baghdad International Airport.

Joe and his family took a plane overnight back to Washington DC, their home. After they got back home and unpacked, they took the wood to the National Museum of Natural History. The museum sent the wood to scientists to analyze it. It was from the Ark! Joe was a hero. Joe told the scientists that there was a big part of the Ark back on Mt. Ararat. The scientists were very happy! Three months later, the National Museum of Natural History had uncovered the rest of the ark and had a huge gala to celebrate. Joe was a hero for finding a huge part of history.
