Noah's Ark, Found By Eleven Year Old/Terry

NOAH’S ARK, FOUND BY ELEVEN YEAR OLD BY: HENY

As Amin got out of the airport shuttle he looked out at the Iranian desert and sighed.

“Oh boy,” exclaimed Amin’s mom. “Now we just have to get on our flight to Turkey. I can’t wait to get to our mountain home!”

Amin and his family’s mountain home is in small village at the bottom of Mt. Ararat in Turkey right by the Iranian border. The mountain is a dormant volcano with two peaks, Lesser Ararat and Greater Ararat.

After the family got home Amin’s mother thought it would be a good idea for him to go get some fresh air and hike around the mountain. As he hiked up Greater Ararat, Amin noticed he had never been on this part of the mountain. It was forbidden by his parents, but just this once thought to himself.

Gradually Amin got colder and colder. When he couldn’t stand it any more he sat down on a large wooden beam. After a minute, Amin realized that it was very strange for a wooden beam to be at such a high altitude. Oh, he thought to himself it's probably an old part of a bench or something. He chuckled.

Amin still thought the wooden beam was weird, so he began to investigate. As he dug around the beam he began to see more and more wooden planks of all different shapes and sizes. It seemed to be black petrified gopher wood. As he explored more, Amin began to unearth a large vessel about the size of a small aircraft carrier. Oh my gosh he began to think, I found a really big bench. It looked like a huge boat or something. Amin began to put the pieces together.

It must be Noah’s Ark!

The story goes that a man named Noah was instructed by God to build a huge boat made of gopher wood to hold him, his family, and the majority of the world’s animals. The reason he did this was because God was going to destroy the world because of mankind’s evil deeds.

God created a huge storm to wipeout all mankind. After the storm passed God made a rainbow in the sky to show that there is always hope. He did this because Noah was a good man and that not all men were bad.

Amin realized right at that moment that he had just made one of the most important discoveries of all time. He then journeyed home and went straight to his room. As soon as Amin shut the door to his room he took out a piece of the ark from his pocket. Amin placed the piece of wood on his dresser and lied down on his bed.

Amin thought about what a sacred story Noah’s Ark is and how it was in the Old Testament because of that, it was known in many religions. He had proven it was true! It would be a world­renowned discovery. He had to go tell his parents.
