ELLO FALL!! There are so many things happening this month that I’m excited about… one is Halloween! I love decorating the porch, dressing up and passing out goodies to all the little trick-or-treaters. Fall is also my favorite time of all to go riding, especially in the mountains of East Tennessee. I love the crisp cool air, the smells are wonderful… smoke, leaves, moist grass and the beautiful colors of the leaves changing, it’s so peaceful, relaxing and a great way to reduce stress. It’s so fitting that National Motorcycle Ride Day is in October, on the 9th, and we encourage all motorcyclists to get out on their motorcycles for a united day of riding. Use the day to escape on your motorcycle. Have some fun, relieve some stress, and really enjoy the thrills. Freedom is what riding a motorcycle offers. This month is Breast Cancer Awareness month. This is very near and dear to my heart as I lost my grandmother to breast cancer, and my younger sister, a very dear cousin, and so many friends have been affected by this disease. I think we all know someone that has lost the battle, is fighting the battle, or won the battle. That’s why it’s so important that you ladies get those yearly mammograms and we all should do something to help with the cause to find a cure for this cruel disease, whether you attend a rally, a ride, or any event, you can show your support. This month is also Fire Prevention month, so be sure and change the batteries in those smoke detectors. So last month we got to go on an epic motorcycle trip and we can’t wait to share all the details with you in an upcoming issue. For now, I’ll tell you that we rode over 5,000 miles in 14 days from Tennessee to the Grand Canyon up to the 4 corners and through the Colorado Rockies to the Black Hills of South Dakota and back through Iowa, Missouri, and Kentucky. It was an amazing trip and we’ll have an article about it soon so keep an eye out for it. Get on your bike and enjoy some of the last beautiful days of riding, and while you’re out, stop by and support our amazing advertisers that support us. By supporting your local businesses while enjoying your ride, you will help spur growth in your local economy. Go for a ride with a friend and enjoy the fall weather. Have a Safe and Spooktacular Halloween!

MONTGOMERY BELL STATE PARK

L

ike many of you, we have ”ridden to” Montgomery Bell many times, however, we have not really “ridden in” Montgomery Bell. This time we stayed in the newly remodeled Inn at Montgomery Bell (now with a full service restaurant and bar) and actually took the time to visit the sights. Located in Burns TN, the 3,850 acre state park was built by the National Park Service during the Depression by the Works Progress Administration and Civilian Conservation Corps and turned over as a state park in 1943. There is a lot of beauty and history there, if we only take the time to enjoy it.

The park is in the center of the Middle Tennessee iron industry and was

named for Montgomery Bell, nicknamed “Tennessee’s First Iron Master” and reputed to be one of the richest men in the South before the Civil War. However, his iron furnaces were really located in Cumberland Furnace, TN. The only furnace ever located in the park, Laurel Furnace, was built by Robert Napier in 1815 and was producing 660 tons of iron by 1820. The Cumberland Presbyterian Church was founded in the park in 1810. Interestingly, this denomination broke from the Presbyterian belief in predestination and believed in free will. A small sandstone chapel stands at the original site and a replica of the founder’s, Samuel McAdow, cabin is nearby. The

chapel would be perfect for small weddings and still hold church services. Another picturesque site is the spillway on Lake Woodhaven, after which the fountain at the inn is modeled. There are three beautiful lakes in the park: Lake Acorn, Lake Woodhaven and Creech Hollow Lake. Fishing is allowed in all three. The Inn is located on Lake Acorn, as are a swimming beach and pedal boat and kayak rental. In addition to the Inn, there are modern villas, group camps, and 121 RV and tent camping spaces. Next time you’re in the park, ride around and enjoy the beauty, not just lunch! Ride Safe and Have Fun!! Cooper

BULLET POINTS

CARRYING YOUR FIREARM ON YOUR BIKE By Scott High

C

arrying a Firearm on your motorcycle can be a task in itself. Some of the things to think of when considering whether to bring your firearm with you when you’re heading out are, am I heading to a bar, can I carry my pistol with me safely, will I drop my pistol while riding, and why do I feel I need to have my pistol on me? Even though TN is now a permitless carry state, it is still very important to go through the process of getting your permit before you carry either concealed in your jacket or belt, or mandatory if you want to carry openly. The first way to carry on a Scoot that comes to mind is a shoulder holster. This may be the most comfortable way to carry but not my personal favorite. If you like to carry in a shoulder holster, I recommend a lot of practice dry drawing your holster from its home. While your shoulder holster is probably the most comfortable it is probably the slowest and most easily defeated draw. If you choose to carry your pistol in your waist belt (which is my personal favorite) there are so many cool holsters out there to choose from. I am a fan of what is comfortable to you. That is most important, so that you actually carry your pistol. If you have a holster in mind, try it out before you buy it. This is one case you may want to make an in person purchase and not an online one. When you pick the holster you like, wear it for a few minutes. I am a fan of gun stores with ranges, like

Tennessee Gun Country in Clarksville has. With an indoor or outdoor range you can try the holster out, make sure it fits you correctly, and see how well it holds your pistol in place. If you pick a holster without active retention, make sure it is a holster that is specific to your gun and fits snugly and has good passive retention, the last thing you want to see is your gun hitting the highway and bouncing down the road. Last but not least, how do you lock your pistol up when you’re at a bar or posted business? I am not a fan of taking your gun into a bar. The last thing you want to do is get into any trouble with the management or law enforcement. It is important if you are going to carry in a bar, please be responsible and don’t drink and carry. So if you can’t or don’t carry in a bar what can you do with your pistol when you are enjoying your evening? I personally don’t leave my pistol in my Street Glide bags just behind the one lock. There are several options to lock your pistol up while you enjoy an evening with your friends and family. You can lock the trigger on your gun, or you can use a lock box in your bike. Simple things like a pelican case, small lock box, or Harley specific box can save you money and hassle. With a small lock box you will then have two locks keeping your firearm safe. There are no right or wrong ways to carry your gun as long as you are safe doing it. As motorcycle enthusiast, it is our responsibility to leave a good impression wherever we go. Shooting can be a great sport to connect with your young ones, spouse, or friends. Riding out to shoot makes a memorable day that will be a great memory for years to come.

THE PREPARATION TIME Matt.22:14 “For many are called, but few are chosen.” The word chosen can also be translated; “sent” or “set apart.” I noticed there is a time gap between being called and being sent. This is known as “Preparation Time.” This is like building a foundation for a building, whatever size building you want, is based on the size and strength of your foundation. There are many Christians today that have been called to the ministry, but have not been chosen-sent yet. Over my twenty-two years of pastoring a “biker church,” I have seen members come and go in motorcycle ministry, Christian motorcycle clubs, and biker churches. Today when one is Called by God into the ministry, they think they should immediately start their own ministry without any training, without any mentorship, without any accountability. They start out with great passion but quickly burn out. This is what I call “Microwave Ministry.” Acts 13:2 “separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work I have (past) CALLED them.” Vs.4 “so they being (future) SENT forth by the Holy Ghost.” Notice the time gap between being Called & Sent. I first noticed this while studying the relationship between David and king Saul. 1 Sam.13:14 King Saul had broken the commandment of the Lord and Samuel pronounce judgement on him; “Thy kingdom shall not continue: the Lord hath sought Him a man after His own heart, and the Lord hath commanded him to be captain over his own people.’ We now know now that the Lord was referring to David, but biblical historians believe this event happened eight years before David was born. Jerm.1:5 “Before I formed you in the belly. I knew you. Before thou cometh forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee, I ordained thee.” David was called to be king before he took his first breath, but he was not sent yet. 1 Sam 16:13 David was anointed King in his father’s house but he was not yet on the throne. David was 17 years old at this time. It has been 25 years since David was called. In the next several years David would kill the giant, fight armies, run from King Saul, have his own army turn on him at Ziklag. David would be 30 years old before he would ever sit on the

throne as king. All those years between being called and finally being Sent; were “The Preparations years” preparing him to be king. These experiences helped shape David for the “Call” that was on his life, David would be 30 years old before he sat on the throne. “As I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil…’ The key word here is WALK, do not run and do not camp out, but learn from your mistakes or you are doomed to repeat them. All the challenging experiences you’ll go through are like tools in a tool box, they will only help you when it’s your time to lead. Until next time, keep your face in the wind and your kickstand up. To be found faithful, Pastor Ron

A

s a twenty-year veteran who spent most of his time in special operations, I’m shocked that the Secretary of Defense, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, the Commander of Central Command, the Chiefs of staff of all of the branches of service and every commander of every unit in the military who had anything to do with Afghanistan would roll over to America’s biggest traitor in history and allow the world changing debacle we are seeing in Afghanistan. They should all resign and be replaced with Patriotic Americans. Even President Jimmy Carter tried to get the last American’s out of Iran in 1979. Now we have a President who is willing to throw the United States of America under the bus and pave the road for America’s enemies including China. Over 6,000 American service members and contractors lost their lives in Afghanistan over the past twenty years. Another 20,000 were wounded or disabled. Joe Biden put the Taliban and its associates, Al Qaeda and ISIS, above getting all Americans out and bringing out the Afghani’s who did so much to help us. Now Americans are hostages and those who helped us are being hunted down, beheaded, burned to death, tortured and executed. Not only did he ensure the Taliban would rule Afghanistan, he gave them billions of dollars’ worth of state-of-the-art military equipment and made them one of the most formidable militaries in the world. We sent our military to Afghanistan in 2001 to insure that never again would Islamic extremist terrorist organizations have a safe haven to plan, train and launch attacks against our country. Now Joe Biden and his administration have given the terrorist world everything they could ever want. Not only did Joe Biden give the terrorists everything they ever wanted, he stabbed our allies in the back as he did it. He didn’t just abandon Americans and Afghans who helped us, he cut and ran and left our allies hanging in the wind. The countries who aided America in fighting the war on terror will no longer be able to trust us. Osama Bin Laden did his best to strike at the heart of America but it took Joe Biden and his administration to make his dreams come true. When the terrorist world works up their plans and trains to attack America it will be next to impossible to create a coalition of nations to stop it. America took months to move supplies, equipment and military personnel into Saudi Arabia before taking down Saddam Hussein. What country would allow that if we have to go back to Afghanistan? What countries would trust us enough to join us? How could our own military trust our leaders to conduct a war that would warrant them giving their lives and limbs? Why would any Afghan civilians or tribal leaders help us after what Joe Biden has done? How could anyone take seriously any political leadership that would place LGBT rainbow flags and George Floyd murals on embassy property in one of the strictest Muslim countries in the world. The Taliban and most strict Islamic countries throw gay people off the tops of buildings. Was that

supposed to win the hearts and minds of the public in Afghanistan??? To the Taliban that was the emblematic heart of evil and something to die fighting against. All it did was unify them against the United States of America and fuel their offensive to take over the country. Everyone knows Joe Biden is incapable of being the President of the United States. His brain is gone, he had no energy or train of rational thought. He constantly talks about what “THEY” have told him he can do or not do. His handlers cringe every time there is a microphone in front of him because they have no clue how dumb he’ll make himself look if he doesn’t read what they have written for him word for word. It’s so bad they couldn’t even let him speak to America on the twentieth-year remembrance of 9/11. His person in charge of cover up strategies, Jen Psaki, is the forked tongue lying spinner extraordinaire. She can spin any debacle he creates and leave you marveling at how she lied to your face with such a straight face. Satan couldn’t do a better job than she does at covering tracks for a fool. I hear many pundits talk about what a dilemma it is if Joe Biden is removed from office. They say Kamala Harris will be worse! I totally agree. She will be worse but what are the options?? I think its time for whack a mole. Remove Joe Biden from the Presidency and when Harris shows her true colors and takes us down the nut house road – remove her from office too. America can’t take three more years of brain dead or nut case leadership. Stopping Marxists in their tracks is the only option to save America. I know some Republicans are not worth re-electing but other than Joe Manchin, none of the Democrat Marxists are worth re-electing. We need to take back the legislature and senate in 2022 and in 2024 we need to take back the Presidency with someone who has Trump like competence. I’ll take tweets over hiding in the basement any day of the week. The hope we can save our constitutional nation without pulling a trigger wears thin. Keep the faith. Thank a vet for the freedoms we still enjoy and support politicians who will bring back the ones we’ve lost. Fly the flag of the people and be proud you’re an American. Hug the families of those still missing because their quest for closure has not ended. Live the good life and ride for those who can’t. ROAD ARMOR AIR RIDER MESH ARMORED SHIRT By Scott High

W

hen it comes to shorter rides, I like to ride in a tshirt and a half helmet or even no helmet if I’m in the right state, but a few years ago a friend of mine gave me a tip, he said on long trips, like multi day long hour big mile trips, if you cover your skin and keep the sun off of you it will change your riding life. Eventually I bought a mesh jacket because I got tired of being sunburned and getting up to start the next riding day sunburned just to get sunburned again. I bought a modular helmet with a smoke shield to keep the sun off my face and vented gloves to cover my hands and I have to admit I like it. I found another benefit of wearing mesh, it keeps you much cooler. You know some of us think about how we look when we’re riding, we try to wear the right shirt, jeans, sunglasses, you know the drill. I love a mesh jacket when I’m riding 8-12 hours a day but they just look… well not my style and mine also feels heavy.

fortable and the fit was good but I removed the armor from mine and it looks just like a flannel shirt from more than 2 feet away. I headed west on I-40 with the shirt on over a t-shirt and it was a little chilly at 75mph in the morning. It’s light and not stiff at all with an outer layer of Tuff Mesh, over a middle layer of Kevlar, with a soft mesh inner lining so it’s very comfortable to wear and you can actually forget it’s on. The sleeves are a little longer than a normal shirt so they stay over my gloves with my hands on the bars. As the day warmed up and we got into Arkansas and Oklahoma I was still comfortable so I checked the weather on my phone and it was in the low to mid 90s. The next few days we rode across New Mexico and Arizona with temps of 95-100, I was warm, but I never got hot or uncomfortable. It does get warmer when you stop and I sweated some but as soon as you start moving the evaporation almost feels like an air conditioner blowing on you. I quickly got in the habit of stripping down at gas stops, gloves, helmet, and Air Rider shirt, but it’s easy to put on and take off with both a zipper and snaps.

When the guys at Skull Riderz contacted us about their Road Armor Air Rider armored mesh shirt I really wanted to try it out. As luck would have it the shirt arrived about a week before a trip out west that included riding across the deserts of New Mexico and Arizona. The shirt came with very nice CE Level 1 back, shoulder, and elbow armor, thick flexible padded rubber, I tried it on, it was com-

Bottom line, I love this mesh shirt, we rode over 5000 miles in 14 days from Tennessee to the Grand Canyon up to the 4 corners and through the Colorado Rockies to the Black Hills of South Dakota and back through Iowa, Missouri, and Kentucky and I never got hot or sunburned. The Air Rider shirt looks great and kept me cool when it was very hot. If you’ve ever thought about wearing mesh in the heat to stay cooler, give Skull Riderz Road Armor Air Rider shirt a try, if you’ve never thought about it, maybe you should. NEWS BYTES

NCOM BIKER NEWSBYTES Compiled & Edited by Bill Bish, National Coalition of Motorcyclists (NCOM)

RPM ACT REINTRODUCED IN CONGRESS After receiving more than 1.5 million letters from motorsports enthusiasts across the country, the Recognizing the Protection of Motorsports Act (RPM Act) has been reintroduced in the U.S. House of Representatives (H.R. 3281) and U.S. Senate (S. 2736) in the 20212022 session of Congress! The RPM Act of 2021 is common-sense, bi-partisan legislation that guarantees Americans’ right to modify street cars, trucks and motorcycles into dedicated racing vehicles and ensures the motorsports-parts industry’s ability to sell products that enable racers to compete. The RPM Act reverses the EPA’s interpretation that the Clean Air Act prohibits a motor vehicle designed for street use -- including a car, truck, or motorcycle -- to be converted into a dedicated racecar. This American tradition was unquestioned from 1970 until 2015 when the federal Environmental Protection Agency took the position that converted vehicles must remain emissions-compliant, even though they are no longer driven on public streets or highways. NEW U.S. NTSB CHIEF BLAMES BAD ROAD DESIGN FOR TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS The United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has a new chief, and she says that to reduce road fatalities, the entire system must shift. NTSB chief Jennifer Homendy, who has worked extensively on investigating air traffic incidents, including the Kobe Bryant helicopter crash, believes the government and all the stakeholders' approach to road safety needs a "fundamental rethink" similar to how aviation now looks at air traffic safety. Earlier this year, she said that governments and businesses should change the way they look at road and highway safety and must consider the whole system, rather than focusing only on individual driver behavior. She added that the “whole system approach” worked perfectly in aviation, where there were ZERO fatalities in 2020. “If we are going to get to zero, we will have to do something different,” Homendy remarked in a speech to the Governor’s Highway Safety Association conference in Denver, Colorado. In the US, there were more than 38-thousand road accident-related deaths last year, the greatest tally since 2007, and is up 10.5% in the first three months of 2021, despite a decline in vehicle miles traveled due to COVID-19-related travel restrictions. Homendy added that, rather than focusing only on drivers, the “Safe System Approach” should also take into account other factors, such as the design of highways which, according to her, might encourage drivers to drive faster, or vehicles sold that are designed to go way beyond the established safe speed limits. NEW EMISSIONS STANDARDS TARGET THAT 50% OF VEHICLES SOLD BE ELECTRIC President Biden has unveiled another component of his administration's plan to fight the climate crisis, announcing a new target that half of vehicles sold in the country by 2030 will be battery electric, fuel-cell electric or plug-in hybrid.

The future of America's car manufacturing "is electric and there's no turning back," Biden said in signing the executive order at the White House alongside representatives from Ford, GM and Stellantis, and members of the United Auto Workers Union. The automakers are supporting Biden's new target, announcing their "shared aspiration" that 40-50% of their cars sold by 2030 to be electric vehicles, according to a joint statement from the three automakers. In a follow-up to an NCOM Legislative Task Force presentation on “The Demise of Gas-Powered Vehicles” at the NCOM Convention in Des Moines, Iowa this summer, NCOM-LTF Member Ed Schetter writes; “President Biden recently announced a new emissions standard that targets 50% of the vehicles sold in the US be electric by 2030,” noting further that; “This will force the petroleum and the bio-fuels industries to aggressively compete for a shrinking market.” Schetter, who also serves as Executive Director of ABATE of Ohio, warns “We need to be vigilant in our defense of safe and affordable fuel for our motorcycles.” NEW YORK STATE TO BAN NEW COMBUSTION VEHICLE SALES FROM 2035 New York governor Kathy Hochul approved new legislation establishing a 2035 zero-emissions goal for the state. According to the text of the bill that the governor signed into law on September 8, 2021; all new passenger cars and trucks sold in New York state would need to meet zero-emissions requirements by 2035. As written, the law does not specifically mention motorcycles, scooters, or other two- or three-wheeled vehicles, but additionally, new off-road vehicles and equipment sold within the state must meet zero-emissions requirements by 2035, as well. Legislation to meet emissions targets is something we’re seeing more and more in recent time, including several European and Asian countries, but so far New York and California are the only two U.S. states to have taken zero-emissions targets into their own hands. As other similar laws in other jurisdictions have been written, New York’s law will not impact existing combustion vehicles that were sold prior to the deadline. The law as currently written only applies to sales of new vehicles from 2035. YAMAHA AIMS FOR CARBON NEUTRALITY BY 2050 Yamaha has set ambitious goals by announcing plans to be a carbon neutral company by 2050, in both its business activities as well as in the emissions of its products. This doesn’t mean a complete abandonment of petrol-power from the Tuning Fork brand though, as Carbon Neutrality is all about offsets. It’s not a zero-carbon plan, but a plan to implement enough carbon offset initiatives to account for the emissions it does create; hence, ‘neutrality’. That’s not to say Yamaha’s future isn’t electric either, and there’s no doubt the brand will release a bevy of e-powered machines in all categories, but it’s all a balancing act at this point and as with many companies these days, it’s a balancing act they’ll have to navigate as more and more emissions restrictions gain hold around the world.

12 ThunderRoadsTennessee.com 12 ThunderRoadsTennessee.com OCTOBER 2021

MOTORCYCLISTS SAY ‘NO’ TO BAN ON PETROL-POWERED BIKES A recent survey conducted by the Federation of European Motorcyclists' Associations (FEMA), available in 12 languages, shows that a possible ban on the sale of new petrol-powered motorcycles is rejected by more than 90% of the 23,768 motorcyclists that took part in the online survey. When asked ‘What do you think about a possible ban on the sale of new petrol-powered motorcycles?’; 92.91% of the motorcyclists that responded rejected such a ban. While there are differences in the results between countries, the disapproval rate does not fall below 80% in any European country. When asked what they would do If the sale of new petrol-powered motorcycles was banned, a majority of 53.38% would stop riding when they are no longer able to buy a new petrol-powered motorcycle. 38.96% of the respondents would buy a zero-emission motorcycle when there are no new or used petrol-powered motorcycles available anymore. Only 7.67% would already buy a zero-emission motorcycle when there are still petrol-powered motorcycles available. Asked if they could enjoy a non-emission bike as much as their current bike, if a ban on all fossil fuel vehicles was implemented, or if they would stop riding, 58.92% would simply stop riding. FEMA notes that “This could be an even larger issue when city authorities decide to ban fossil fuel vehicles from entering the city, because in that case over 76% of the respondents would change their mode of transport, rather than switching to a non-emissions motorcycle (electric/fuel cell). This could have drastic effects on urban mobility as we know it.” ROBOT SHAMES BADLY PARKED BIKES! Singapore is waging war on illegal parking, among other things, and is dispatching autonomous police robots to bring order to the streets. Xavier is a four-wheeled box that features a touchscreen on the front and radar sensors and cameras on the top. The cameras can relay 360° images to a command center and is also able to automatically alert scofflaws to a number of infringements. And it’s not just illegally parked motorcycles that this crime-fighting tin can is trained to spot.

Any undesirable and anti-social behavior is this little Robocop’s specialty. That means peddlers, gatherings of five or more people (COVID-19 restrictions), engaging in “undesirable social behavior,” and even smokers need to beware. Xavier has been programmed to penalize improperly parked motorcycles -- with shame. When the robot detects illicit situations, Xavier will display messages to the culprit, guilt tripping violators and hopefully deterring similar behavior in the future. For now, the roving crime fighter is just a test, but it’s here now and nothing can stop it – apart from stairs, curbs, tall grass and being toppled over. PER-MILE MOTORCYCLE INSURANCE LAUNCHED An innovative InsurTech company named Voom has just partnered with insurance company Markel to offer a stunning solution to today’s motorcycle insurance premiums -- and the price will purportedly be measured on a per-mile basis. A report from CycleNews states that Voom and Markel’s concept came from a statistic stating that low-mileage riders tend to be safer and cause less chaos, posing up to 80% less risk than riders who spend the day in the saddle. This option will make a big difference for riders living in a continental climate, who were previously limited to annual or seasonal insurance, and now won’t have to worry about the extra amount of money that goes to waste on the off-seasons -- rather, riders would simply be required to submit a picture of their odometer to the company once a month, and ride as much or as little as they see fit. The premiums are currently available to Arizona, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio, with liability, comprehensive, medical payments, collision, uninsured motorists, and accessory coverage. The eventual goal is to expand per-mile insurance to the rest of America, with emphasis on low-mileage riders. QUOTABLE QUOTE: "It would indeed be ironic if, in the name of national defense, we would sanction the subversion of one of those liberties which make the defense of our nation worthwhile.” ~ Earl Warren (1891-1974), American politician and Chief Justice

f you don’t remember Myrtle and Pearl, you should go check out the March 2020 issue of Thunder Roads Tennessee, if you’d like to, it’s on our website but we’ll re-introduce them. Christy Baker aka Myrtle, and Leanna Larsen aka Pearl met at work and discovered they both ride. They started riding together and planned a trip to Sturgis with friends, all of their friends backed out so they went alone and had so much fun they decided to go on a trip together every year. Now that everyone is caught up, the last time we talked with them they had been to 39 states together and were planning to hit the last nine this year to finish the lower 48. Well they have, and they did it on an EPIC 8,500 mile, 34 day, 20 state trip. Pearl bought her bike “Big Showeezie” (because her bike’s a girl) from the widow of a dear friend “Big Show.” Because

he didn’t get to enjoy it long she wanted to ride the bike to all of the lower 48 states in his honor. The girls, now next door neighbors, once again left Randy and Todd at home, and hit the road. Because Myrtle hadn’t ridden her Street Glide “Lucy” in West Virginia, they made quick side trip there on the way to Michigan to visit family and mark another state off the list. They took the ferry across Lake Michigan to Wisconsin and toured the Harley Museum, then on to Minnesota to stay

with family again. They then rode into North Dakota marking 4 more states off their list to visit. After checking out the North Badlands in Theodore Roosevelt National Park it was time to head to Montana. With a side trip to ride past the Chief Joseph Ranch where the TV show “Yellowstone” is filmed, they went to see Old Faithful and ride the Going to the Sun Road through Glacier National Park. That evening the girls started looking for a room, not having any luck near the park they headed towards the interstate knowing there are usually more hotels there. They ended up in the little town of St. Regis on I-90 but still couldn’t find a room. They went in a saloon to get some food and have a drink and figure out what to do

next and struck up a conversation with the owner of the bar. After they decided he was a nice guy one of the girls asked him how he’d feel about having a tent in his front yard, he told them he wouldn’t mind at all so they hung out until it closed, walked across the street to his yard and slept in their tent. That’s just how they roll, no firm plans, no deadlines, get up in the morning and decide where to go. Leaving Montana they rolled through Idaho into Washington, after a rest day they headed for the pacific coast, Pearl had never seen the pacific coast so that was a special day for sure. They cruised south along the coast through Oregon and into Cali to see the Redwoods and the Golden Gate Bridge and visit friends. Having knocked all of the lower 48 states off their list, the girls headed back across Nevada, Utah, and Wyoming and into South Dakota to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. They hadn’t been since their first big trip together 4 years ago. They both had a couple of repairs made by Rally vendors then headed towards home. If you didn’t notice, that’s the girls on the cover of this issue. I’ve known Pearl for several years and Myrtle longer than that, these 2 ladies are hard core riders, and bikers by any yardstick you want to measure that word by. When they were leaving on their trip I knew I wanted to do a follow-up article, but I wanted the cover photo taken as soon as they got home, no washing or unpacking, dirty bikes still loaded from the trip. I couldn’t be there when they were supposed to get home so to keep it authentic, they stayed on the road an extra night and came to where I was for photos before they went home. I’ll say it again, they “ride like girls!” I wish I could ride like these girls.

Bubba and his girlfriend were all settled in with snacks and beer in a cooler waiting for the big boxing match on cable, which Bubba had paid up front $50. to watch live, of which he had bitched and bragged about it for two weeks. The fight starts, they open up their chips and dip and pop their ice-cold beers and Whamm! the contender is knocked out cold in the 1st round! Bubba is up on his feet and screaming at the t.v. and shouting to his girlfriend “that’s the biggest let down! The whole damn thing was over in less than a minute!” Girlfriend reaches for beer and says, ‘yeah right? I totally know where you’re coming from, like literally, I know the less than a minute let down.” Bubba stops ranting and looks at her and says in all sincerity..... “Wow babe, that kinda’ helps that you feel my total disappointment.” -------------------------------------------------------------Late one night Herman takes a shortcut through the cemetery. Hearing a tapping sound he becomes a tad bit squeamish and quickens his pace. The tapping sound gets louder and Earl is now skeered out of his wits. Then he notices a man chiseling on a tombstone. “Thank goodness!” exclaims Jack to the man, “You gave me the most horrible fright of my life. Why in the world are you working so late?” “They spelled my name wrong.” -------------------------------------------------------------To the 20 something year old girls who think fifty something year old women are jealous of them Yeah bitch, Enjoy your next 240 periods! -------------------------------------------------------------Bubba in kitchen shaking his head when Earl walks in and says, “what’s up buddy?” Bubba says, “I’m gonna’ slow down on the weed a bit. I just put my food into the microwave, entered my damn ATM pin and stood there waiting for it to reheat!” -------------------------------------------------------------87 year old man at bar: My 27 year old wife is pregnant! Whatcha’ think of that Barkeep? Bartender: A hunter in a hurry, grabs an umbrella instead of his gun. He enters the jungle, sees a lion, pulls the handle and Bang! the lion drops dead. Old man: That’s impossible! Someone else must have shot the lion! Bartender: Exactly my point!

Dude posts on his hometown page.... You Farted In Kroger Yesterday You were the tall brunette with the near perfect gorgeous curvy, thick body, that farted in the bread section last night around closing time. I was the tall guy next to you that looked over and asked, “Was that you?” You quickly looked shocked and replied, “No you fool, it was not me?” You were definitely insulted that I would even ask. As the tremendous stank began to take on a life of its’ own, you stood your ground and pretended that there was no smell whatsoever, continuing to shop. I picked up 2 loafs of Ciabatta bread and began waving them around to break up the stench. You called me a couple names and you stomped off extremely angry, which only enhanced your true gorgeousness. I’m posting this because even though you’re a liar with anger issues and fart like a Clydesdale, I would love to meet up in an outside area. Hit me back. --------------------------------------------------------------An Amish woman and her daughter were riding in an old buggy one cold and blustery day. The daughter said to her Mother, “My hands are freezing cold.” The mother replied, “Put them between your legs, your body heat will warm them up in no time.” The next day the daughter was riding with her boy-friend who said, “My nose is so cold it feels like it will fall off.” The girl replied, “Put it between my legs, my body heat will warm it in no time.” He did and all was good. The next day they were out and about and the boy said, “My penis is literally frozen and will fall off my body!” The girl told him to put it between her legs and it will thaw quickly. Next day the girl and her Mother are out and about and the girl asks, “Have you ever heard of a penis?” The mother is a tad concerned, but responds truthfully, “Yes, why is it that you ask daughter?” The daughter looks at her Mother with sincere honesty and replies, “They just sure make one heck of a mess when they thaw out don’t they?” --------------------------------------------------------------IF she eats her french fries with a fork ...... She’s probably not going to do that Thing that you like. js
