ith 2021 quickly coming to an end, and November being the month of Thanksgiving, we should always take the time to look back and think about the things we are thankful for. We have a lot to be thankful for personally, for example, we were blessed with our third grandchild in February and with travel restrictions being lifted in August somewhat, we’ve been able to visit our other two grandbabies in Canada twice after a long 17 months of video calls. We were also able to go on a 2-week motorcycle trip out west at the end of September with some great friends which you can read a little about in this issue. But this year has still been hard for a lot of people in a lot of ways, and while things are looking up, we still have a way to go. Like a lot of you, we’ve lost friends and loved ones to the pandemic and otherwise, we have friends who have lost jobs, and even businesses. But I try to be optimistic, I feel like things are getting more and more back to normal every day. Fall is finally here, we’ve had several cool mornings already, leaves are changing color or falling depending on where you are when you read this. I’m sure, if you read our letter from the editor at all, you know Fall is my favorite season. Fall is also a great time of year if you ride, you can ride all day without getting hot and the sights of the leaves changing are beautiful. We also like to mention every Fall to be a little more careful when the leaves are falling, especially if it’s damp. Wet leaves can be slick, if it’s just a few leaves your front tire isn’t on them long enough to matter, but a leaf covered curve in the road can be a different story so pay attention to the surface of the road. There are still some events left on the calendar, there are several toy runs this month. Check out the events page and find one or even more than one to participate in. As always, visit and shop with our advertisers, it’s them who keeps this magazine coming to you free every month. We hope everyone has a restful and wonderful Thanksgiving. OUR ADVENTURE OUT WEST

or this month’s installment of America the Beautiful we decided to write about the trip we took in August/September and share the photos we took along the way. For me, there is no better way to see this big, beautiful country of ours than from the back of a motorcycle. Our good friends Ron and Sandy Giddis from Smoky Mountain Thunder met at our house, and the next morning we headed for the Grand Canyon. Denise had to stay behind for the first part of the trip to finish some magazine business and fly out to meet us later. So, 3 of us on 3 bikes made it to Sallisaw OK the first day. The first 3 days were mostly making time on the interstate to get out west because we only had 15 days to ride and sightsee. The next day we rode to Tucumcari NM and stayed in a very cool restored 1950’s era Route 66 Motel called the Motel Safari, and the owner is from Knoxville. Day 3 we stopped in Winslow AZ, once again we found another restored Route 66 Motel called Earl’s 66 Motel. Before we left for the Grand Canyon, we were standing on 4 ThunderRoadsTennessee.com NOVEMBER 2021
a corner in Winslow AZ. and after seeing as much of the Grand Canyon as we could in the short time we had, we raced the monsoon rains back to Williams AZ for the night. Day 5 we rode from Williams to Cortez CO. I think I had decided this was just a travelling day, so I wasn’t expecting much. I couldn’t have been more wrong. If you know me you know I’m happiest when my floorboards are scraping the road, I usually head for the twistiest curviest roads I can find, but the mostly flat mostly straight Hwy 160 across the Navajo Nation of Northern Arizona after a rain is one of the most incredible rides I’ve ever done. It was almost spiritual! Finally, we made it to the 4 Corners Monument, stopped and took a few photos standing in 4 states and raced dark into Cortez CO. The next day we split up, Ron and Sandy wanted to do some shopping and wash their bikes, but I wanted to ride the Million Dollar Highway, so we planned to meet in Ridgeway for lunch. Somewhere between Durango and Silverton it started getting cloudy and by the time I got to Ouray it was raining pretty hard. I almost put on a rainsuit to finish the road but because I had already ridden the best part I decided to turn around and ride it in the other direction knowing I would soon ride out of the rain. I met Ron and Sandy at Mesa Verde National Park, we rode through the park and checked out the ancient Pueblo Cliff Dwellings. The next day we headed to Colorado Springs. After we rode over Wolf Creek Pass we tried to wait out some rain on the west side of Pike’s Peak, but we realized it was going to be dark before the rains let up so we rode on into Colorado Springs and put on some dry clothes. Day 8 we picked up Denise at the Colorado Springs Airport, it was Labor Day Weekend and Colorado Springs was packed with people, so the 4 of us decided to head to Idaho Springs just west of Denver for a couple of days. Idaho Springs is a very cool little town and the entrance to Mt Evans. Our motel, the Argo Inn had a stream called Clear Creek about 40’ from our patios and a fire pit. I even heard there was some whiskey continued... NOVEMBER 2021 ThunderRoadsTennessee.com

passed around the fire but that must have been after I went to bed because I can’t seem to remember that. The next day Denise and I rode up Mt Evans, the highest paved road in North America and the 5th highest in the world at 14,130 feet. All I know is when I got to the top, I had no hydraulic clutch, so I had to bump my bike in to neutral and pump it up. We left Idaho Springs the next day headed to the Black Hills. We spent about 4 hours doing 80 with a 40mph side wind through Wyoming and made it to Deadwood SD for dinner. The next day we went to Mt Rushmore, the Crazy Horse Monument, then through Custer State Park on Needles Hwy and Iron Mt. Rd. The next 3 days we rode through the Badlands of South Dakota, Iowa, Missouri, Kentucky, and after a quick stop at Patti’s 1880’s Settlement for a 2” pork chop we finally made it back home to Tennessee. It was an epic trip with great friends!

INDOOR GUN RANGE ETIQUETTE

very fall when the temperature starts to drop we start to do more things inside, and if you’ve been shooting outside at a controlled range, or at a safe place in the woods, you might want to go to an indoor range like the Bob Munden Indoor Range at Tennessee Gun Country to practice during the cold months. Every fall we like to bring up the subject of indoor shooting on our Bullet Points page and share some of the safety rules and etiquette that go along with it. We’ll go over the basic rules that apply to most indoor ranges, but where ever you go to shoot, always know the rules specific to that range and abide by them. The rules are there to keep everyone safe and make range time fun for all. These are basic general safety rules that apply at most indoor ranges but if you’ve been shooting in the woods all summer, it’s a good idea to review. Always keep your firearm pointed down range, even if it’s empty; if you bring your gun in a bag or case, turn the bag or case so that when you take the firearm out it’s pointing downrange. If you rent a firearm, make sure the slide is locked back or the cylinder open when you return it to the counter so everyone can see at a glance that it’s unloaded and safe. Never leave your gun unattended. Always keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. These seem basic, but you may have developed bad habits if you haven’t been shooting inside or around other people. Keep your firearm unloaded until you are ready to shoot, and wear eye and ear protection anytime you are in the range facility. Keep your firearms unloaded and in a closed container or holster when entering or exiting the range facility. Never load or handle your firearm if you aren’t in your shooting lane. Shoot in your assigned lane and only shoot at the target in your lane. When you put your target on the hanger, hang it at eye level so you aren’t shooting up or down. Do not reach past the
firing line for any reason. If you drop your target or brass or anything at all, ask the range staff for help. Never hand a loaded firearm to another person. Clear the gun, make it safe and set it on the counter to let the other person pick it up, load it, and begin shooting.
Always check the policy at your range before shooting shotguns or rifles. Some allow rifles up to a certain caliber, and some allow shotguns with ammunition restrictions. Most ranges also have ammunition restrictions for all guns, steel core/green tip, incendiary, tracer, or armor piercing ammunition are usually not allowed. Most indoor ranges do not allow muzzleloader rifles of any kind. Never bring food, drinks or tobacco of ANY kind on the range. This will lessen the chance of ingesting lead residue. Always wash your hands immediately after shooting to remove any lead dust or primer residue. Leave your booth clean and uncluttered, and sweep up all of your brass and dump it into the bucket for spent brass. When leaving the range area for any reason, unload your firearm at the shooting position and case it. The call “CEASE FIRE” means to stop shooting immediately. Any shooter can call “CEASE FIRE” if they witness an unsafe act or there is a problem requiring all shooters to stop firing. Never allow unattended children on the range. Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. If you are unable to clear a malfunction, leave the firearm in the booth and notify the range personnel. Never fire from the prone position. The angle will have you shooting at the baffles on the ceiling. Some ranges allow full auto firing with prior permission. As stated earlier, these are general rules, and each range has its own specific rules. Make sure you learn them before you enter the range. It makes shooting a safer and more enjoyable experience for all involved. Just because it’s getting colder doesn’t mean you have to stop practicing, so be safe and keep shooting.

DYSFUNCTIONAL FAMILIES King David came from a Church family, but yet a “dysfunctional family.” In a dysfunctional family the abnormal becomes the normal. When Samuel the Prophet of God came to visit the home where David lived, David’s father sent David out to the field to watch the sheep, even David’s own father was ashamed of him. Dear Fellow Veterans and Patriots:
W
hat happened to common sense, honesty and the personal guarantees of the United States Constitution? I watched a video last night on FOX News of a father in Loudon County, Virginia who showed up at a school board meeting to raise the issue of his middle school daughter being raped at school in the girl’s bathroom by a boy who used the transgender bathroom mandate allowing boys who “identify” as a girl to use the girl’s bathroom. The school superintendent claimed there was no sexual assaults he was aware of in the schools when actually the superintendent was hiding the incident. The school board was aware the father would attempt to complain in public about what happened to his daughter and had half a dozen policemen at the meeting. When the father attempted to speak to the board the police attempted to remove him. He was beaten, removed and charged. It was later learned the school had transferred the offending boy to a different school to hide the incident and the boy raped a second girl in the same way at the second school. The truth is that a boy is a boy and a girl is a girl. A boy who was born with a pecker is a boy no matter what he says he identifies as. A boy with a pecker is going to want to use it and a boy allowed in the girl’s bathroom is likely to forget he identifies as a girl and attempt to put his pecker where it doesn’t belong!!! That is truth, honesty and common sense. We are being assaulted on so many fronts with executive orders, mandates, and rules that are trying to convince us that what we know is true is now NOT true. We are being told everyone must get a Covid vaccination when at least one third of American citizens have had Covid and now have natural immunity. The natural immunity produced by our bodies after having the virus is much stronger and very long lasting – so why are we being forced to take a mediocre vaccine on top of that when the vaccines have many side effects and set up having to take multiple boosters? Common Sense!! Why are high level politicians telling us that adding trillions of dollars to our national debt won’t cost anything and won’t raise inflation? Anyone who has taken economics in school can tell you that printing more money out of thin air, which is how they will find trillions of dollars to spend, is going to raise inflation. I’m sure you’ve noticed prices are going up – that’s inflation!!! Joe Biden says he is going to fix supply chain problems and that the ports have agreed to stay open 24 hours a day. Walmart, UPS and FEDEX say they can increase container transport by 2,500 more containers by Christmas. There are a half million containers on ships off shore in California alone waiting to be offloaded. It will take two years to get those ships offloaded and the back log reduced IF Biden quits paying people to stay home and stops forcing people to involuntarily get vaccinated just to work. Moving containers requires workers, truck drivers and pilots. Truth!! Gas prices are going higher. Biden is asking the oil producers to lower their prices. Pricing is based on supply!! Biden stopped the Keystone
XL pipeline construction and is instituting rules to slow or stop oil production in this country. He asked oil producers in the middle east to produce more to make up for what he has done here. They told him to pound sand. He stopped the construction of the border wall and created the greatest surge of illegal immigration imaginable. The administration says they are sending most of the illegals back but are actually lying to the American people and are spreading illegals across the country with no way to track them. Many are criminals and terrorists. Democrats are defunding the police and doing everything they can to do away with law enforcement and criminal penalties. We now have the biggest rise in murder in our country’s history. Truth -You’re on your own to protect yourself!!! Biden says that America’s biggest threat is white supremacists and is doing everything in his power to resurrect racism when racism was actually disappearing in our country. Why?? Why is this administration taking all of these actions that are destroying our country?? Why are the American people taking it? Why would any parent send their child to a school teaching critical race theory? Why would anyone elect a politician that supports any of this mess? Why aren’t Republicans speaking out about the border and sending state national guard units to stop the illegals? Why aren’t the illegals being required to take the vaccine? Why is anyone supporting boys being allowed in girl’s bathrooms or to play sports on girl’s teams. A boy who says he is a girl is still a boy. I saw a young man once who liked drugs and said he was Jesus but that didn’t make him Jesus. Why is anyone wearing a mask? They don’t work!! Why are airlines being required to deny travel to the unvaccinated. What happened to personal freedom. If someone is afraid of getting Covid on a plane they should have the freedom to decide not to travel. Why are the few being given extraordinary freedoms and the general population of our nation being required to walk on eggs for them?? Stand for common sense and speak the TRUTH!! Keep the faith. Thank a vet for the freedoms we still enjoy and support politicians who will bring back the ones we’ve lost. Fly the flag of the people and be proud you’re an American. SELF-DRIVING VEHICLES COMING YOUR WAY Circling back to the NCOM Legislative Task Force Meeting during the recent NCOM Convention in Des Moines, Iowa, examining existential threats to motorcycling, NCOM-LTF Member Ed Schetter notified the NCOM Board of Directors that “Mercedes Benz is claiming the first Level 3 autonomous technology will be in production for their 2022 EQS equipped with Drive Pilot.” Level 3 is known as conditional driving automation, and it uses various driver assistance systems and artificial intelligence to make decisions based on changing driving situations around the vehicle. People inside the vehicle do not need to supervise the technology, meaning they can engage in other activities. During the NCOM-LTF’s presentation on “The Demise of Gas-Powered Vehicles,” Schetter reported that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is investigating 11 crashes since 2018 in which a Tesla vehicle with "Autopilot" has struck one or more vehicles involved in an emergency response situation. Tesla currently operates at Level 2, partial driving automation, which falls short of self-driving because it comes with the expectation that a human will always be alert and ready to take over. “We will keep you updated on the quickly changing technology on the road today,” notes Schetter, who in addition to serving on the National Coalition of Motorcyclists (NCOM) Board of Directors and Legislative Task Force, is Executive Director of ABATE of Ohio. INFRASTRUCTURE BILL ON HOLD, FOLLOWING EXTENSION If you don't know what's happening with the infrastructure bill, you're not alone, as even political insiders who should be in the know seem not to be. The vote on this ‘highway reauthorization bill’ is complicated by action to be taken on another measure, a sweeping social spending and climate package, that has been politically tied to the infrastructure proposal by congressional Democrats and President Joe Biden. Despite both chambers of Congress agreeing to extend the FAST Act deadline, H.R. 5434; the “Surface Transportation Extension Act of 2021,” Biden put the $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill on hold, telling Democrats that a vote on the highway measure must wait until the party agrees on spending trillions more for his far more ambitious social policy and climate change package. In addition to providing billions in new funding to rebuild America’s deteriorating roads and bridges, improve airports and rail services, and expand high-speed internet access, the infrastructure bill still offers several pro-motorcycle provisions such as expanding prohibitions on motorcycle-only checkpoints, prohibiting law enforcement activities that profile motorcycle operators, evaluating biker profiling by law enforcement, specifies that motorcycles must be considered in autonomous vehicle operation, allocates increased motorcyclist safety funding, and reauthorizes the Motorcyclists Advisory Council at the U.S. Department of Transportation. PHILADELPHIA TO HALT STOPS FOR MINOR INFRACTIONS Philadelphia, Pennsylvania will become the first major city to ban stops for minor traffic infractions, with a historic piece of legislation that puts the
brakes on police pulling over drivers for so-called “secondary violations.” The City Council approved a bill 14-2 that bans police officers from stopping motorists for minor violations, such as having a broken taillight or not having certain stickers displayed. Drivers who are guilty of those minor violations will instead receive a warning or a citation in the mail. “So that an expired license plate or fuzzy dice in the mirror isn’t a death sentence that it can be in some cases,” said Councilmember Curtis Jones Jr., who is a co-sponsor of the “Driving Equality Bill.” Jones said the city reviewed 2.8 million stops and found that Philadelphia police pull over a disproportionate number of black drivers for minor violations. Supporters contend the new law would “end traffic stops that promote discrimination while keeping the traffic stops that promote public safety.” The bill now goes to Mayor Jim Kenney, who is expected to sign it into law, after which the police department will have 120 days for training and education before the changes begin. CALIFORNIA TO BAN GAS-POWERED ‘SMALL OFF-ROAD ENGINES’ (SORE) As of 2024, California will ban “small off-road engines” (SORE) primarily used in gas-powered lawn equipment, such as lawnmowers, leaf blowers and chainsaws, in a new law signed by Governor Gavin Newsom. The legislation, Assembly Bill 1346, will apply not only to fuel-fed lawn equipment, but also to generators and emergency response equipment operated by internal combustion engines (ICE), and “other assorted categories” including golf carts. AB 1346, authored by Assembly member Marc Berman (D-Menlo Park), directs the California Air Resources Board to adopt regulations by July 2022 that would prohibit the sale of new "small off-road engines" -- a category that includes all gas-powered engines under 25 horsepower -- but does not regulate the use of existing equipment, and includes exceptions for farmers and emergency responders. According to CARB, there are more small engines in California than cars, 16.5 million vs. 13.7 million, but have not been the subject of regulation and lack adequate pollution control devices. Soon, all such equipment sold new in California will be required to be zero-emissions; either battery-powered or electric plug-in. KAWASAKI MOTORCYCLES TO GO FULLY ELECTRIC BY 2035 It seems that all vehicles, including motorcycles, are destined to become battery-powered in the near future. Honda, BMW, as well as Yamaha, have all announced their plans to go full electric by 2050. But for Kawasaki, their self-imposed deadline is coming much sooner, being in 14 years' time, and by 2035 all of their motorcycles sold will be electric-powered. To help maximize resources and increase management flexibility, Kawasaki Heavy Industries (KHI) has spun off its motorcycle division into the aptly named Kawasaki Motors, which will focus solely on the motorcycle business. KHI, meanwhile, will continue to oversee the company's interests in producing aircraft, ships, industrial equipment, and trains. “Outdoor leisure activity has been popular during the COVID pandemic,” said Yasuhiko Hashimoto, KHI President, adding that “We will strengthen our environmental efforts with our sights set on post-pandemic lifestyles.” These electric motorcycles in the pipeline for 2035 are so far intended for markets in developed nations, like Japan, the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Australia.

HONDA, KTM, PIAGGIO & YAMAHA FORM SWAPPABLE BATTERY CONSORTIUM Honda, KTM, Piaggio and Yamaha all got together to sign a letter of intent about their EV battery swapping plans, with the project’s stated goal being to agree upon a set of shared standards to which all four companies plan to adhere, thus creating the Swappable Batteries Motorcycle Consortium. Battery standardization has been one of the key stumbling blocks to electrification, but the big issue with battery swapping has always been the cost of the infrastructure. If there are to be enough batteries in circulation, this would require enormous investment by a manufacturer. If every company used a different battery type, it would be both expensive and wasteful. However, if a battery in a docking station fits multiple bikes, scooters, mopeds and other small machines, it becomes more viable. The hope is that by working together not only can they share costs, thus lowering prices both for the bikes and the infrastructure, but that they can work together to improve battery technology resulting in longer ranges and shorter charging times. “Honda believes that the widespread adoption of electric motorcycles can play an important part in realizing a more sustainable society. For that purpose, we need to solve several challenges such as extending the range, shortening the charging time and lowering the vehicle and infrastructure costs to enhance convenience for customers,” according to Honda Motor Company Limited motorcycle operations chief officer Yoshishige Nomura. “In the Consortium we have created, the founding members from the motorcycle industry and other stakeholders will work together towards standardizing swappable batteries, their charging systems and surrounding infrastructure to create the environment for their use. Our final goal is to ensure that motorcycles will continue to be chosen as a useful method of transportation in future mobility,” Nomura concluded.

The union, which represents 18 manufacturing companies and 20 national industry associations, is concerned bikers are being unfairly singled out for an issue that is endemic across all road users, saying modern motorcycles don’t exceed the permitted decibel levels compared with many four-wheel alternatives. Interestingly, the ACEM also supports the use of devices that measure noise and issue fines, since it places the onus on the individual potentially abusing the regulations, rather than the industry as a whole. The debate over noisy motorcycles has stepped up in recent years, with the issue leading to a number of measures being implemented across popular routes throughout Europe. Germany and Austria have been particularly pro-active in introducing rules seemingly aimed specifically at the motorcycle industry, going so far as to ban motorcycles entirely from certain stretches. However, as the ACEM points out, Euro4 and Euro5 motorcycles are already designed not to exceed the permitted 77dB of noise (on average), but, that said, these machines can be altered by various customization techniques, just as with cars. With this in mind, the ACEM’s position is that manufacturers, the industry in its entirety and every biker shouldn’t be unfairly targeted with specific motorcycling bans since the issue comes down to individual practice and can just as easily be mirrored across all modes of transport, thus applicable to all road users or none.
MOTORCYCLE MANUFACTURERS PLACE ONUS ON INDIVIDUALS IN NOISE DEBATE The ACEM - European Association of Motorcycle Manufacturers – has spoken out on the noisy motorcycle debate, issuing its response to

As such, the ACEM has taken the stance of supporting the use of noise pollution devices, despite them coming in for sharp criticism from bikers, so long as the devices are placed in key locations, shifting the onus back onto the individual - regardless of machinery - and without using the sweeping brush of preventing all bikers from using certain routes.

People often complain about the police, but you rarely hear about the positive things they do, such as this incident involving a biker and a frozen carburetor. Last January on a bitterly cold winter’s day, a North Dakota state trooper on patrol came upon a motorcyclist who was stalled by the roadside. The biker was swathed in heavy protective clothing and wearing a full-face helmet to protect the face from the cold weather. “What’s the matter? asked the Trooper “Carburetor’s frozen,” was the terse reply. “Pee on it. That’ll thaw it out.” “I can’t,” said the biker. It’s an issue.” “OK, watch me closely, and I’ll show you.” The trooper unzipped and promptly warmed the carburetor as promised. Moments later the bike started, and the rider drove off, waving. A few days later, the local State Troopers’ office received a note of thanks from the father of the motorcyclist. It began: “On behalf of my daughter Jill...” The football Coach noticed that his star tackle, “Boner”, had so many women hanging around that he couldn’t possibly handle all of them. So one day he asked Boner “Just what the hell is your secret, kid?” Boner replies, “Well, Coach, whenever I’m about to have sex, I always whip it out and bang it on the dresser like a hammer. That numbs it up, and I can screw ‘em till they beg me to stop!” The Coach went home early one day and went to the bedroom. He heard his wife in the shower. Seeing a window of opportunity, he tore off his clothes and started bangin’ the hell out of his “wanker” on the dresser. His wife stuck her head out of the shower and yells out, “That you Boner, baby?” What do you do with 365 used condoms? Melt them down and call it a very Goodyear. A biker’s greatest achievement was his brood of six kids. He was so proud that he continually called his wife: “Mother of Six”, which pissed her off to no end. But he kept referring to her as “Mother of Six” no matter where they went. At end of a poker run, he shouted across the bar, “Hey, “Mother of Six”, you ready to go home?” His irritated wife screamed back: “Anytime you’re ready, “Father of Four”!”
One day a father gets out of work and on his way home he suddenly remembers that it’s his daughter’s birthday. He pulls over to a Toy Shop and asks the sales person, ‘How much for one of those Barbie’s in the display window?’ The salesperson answers, ‘Which one do you mean, sir? We have: Work Out Barbie for $19.95, Shopping Barbie for $19.95, Beach Barbie for $19.95, Disco Barbie for $19.95, Ballerina Barbie for $19.95, Astronaut Barbie for $19.95, Skater Barbie for $19.95, and the most popular; Divorced Barbie for $299.95’. The amazed father yells: ‘It’s how much?! Why is the Divorced Barbie $299.95 and the others only $19.95?’ The annoyed salesperson rolls her eyes, sighs, and answers: ‘Sir..., Divorced Barbie comes with: Ken’s Audi A-8, Ken’s Malibu Beach house, Ken’s Danzi Z33 Race Boat, Ken’s Designer Furniture, Ken’s Screamin’-Meanie Platinum Computer, all of Ken’s new Platinum credit cards, and a custom key chain made with Platinum dipped dangling Ken’s Balls. Two bikers; Mouse and Sprocket, rode into a gas station in Kentucky for a fill-up because they heard about a contest being offered by the station to patrons who purchased a full tank of gas. When they went inside to pay, the guys asked the attendant about the contest. “If you win, you’re entitled to free sex” said the attendant. “How do we enter?” asked Sprocket. “Well, I’m thinking of a number between 1 and 10, if you guess right, you win free sex.” “OK. I guess 7,” said Sprocket. “Sorry, I was thinking of 8,” replied the attendant. The next week, the two buddies go back to the same station to get gas. When they went inside to pay, Mouse asked the attendant if the contest was still going on. “Sure,” replied the attendant. “I’m thinking of a number between 1 and 10, if you guess right you win free sex.” “2” said Mouse. “Sorry, I was thinking of 3,” replied the attendant. “Y’all come back soon and try again.” As they walked back to their bikes, Sprocket said to Mouse, “You know, I’m beginning to think this contest is rigged.” “No way,” replied Mouse. “My wife won three times last week.” A Flight Attendant was stationed at the departure gate to check tickets. As a man approached, she extended her hand for the ticket and he opened his trench coat and flashed her. Without missing a beat....she said, “Sir, I need to see your ticket, not your stub.”
