FINAL ROSTER FOR THE WWE UK TOURNAMENT IS REVEALED

WWE presents the biggest UK based tournament since the SummerSlam 1992 next weekend when the WWE UK Championships get underway in Blackpool. The event is set to take place on the 14th and 15th of January and will crown the first ever WWE UK Champion. Triple H unveiled his idea for the tournament back in December and also revealed 18 names that were set to be a part of the event. Over the past few days, it seems that many of these names have changed, as names have been taken out and new ones have been added. Recently TNA British Bootcamp 2 winner Mark Andrews

was added to the event, which in effect means that he has been released by WWE’s rivals TNA. Danny Burch has also been added to the event, he has been known as Martin Stone on the Independent Circuit, but was also seen as Danny Burch in NXT more recently. Whilst these two are the big names that have recently been added, it is worth mentioning that four names have also been removed from the list as well. Chris Tyler, Tiger Ali, Jack Starz and Ringo Ryan have all been missed off the final draft of the list, which was expected since WWE announced 18 men for a 16 man tournament. It is as of yet, unknown as to why four men have been dropped from the show rather than two and why Mark Andrews and Danny Birch have been added instead. The list now includes British Bruiserweight and current Progress World Champion Pete Dunne, fellow Progress star Trent Seven and 19-year-old wrestling sensation Tyler Bate. Southside partners Joseph Conners and HC Dyer have also made the cut along with Irish sensation Jordan Devlin. Wolfgang is the only Scottish star in the Tournament, with Mark Andrews flying the flag for the Welsh and Tucker and Jordan Devlin standing out for the Irish.

The remaining names are Blackpool natives Sam Gradwell and Mr Mayhem James Drake, Irish-born high flyer Tucker, who was trained by former Universal Champion Finn Balor. Malvern-born brawler Tyson T-Bone, Birmingham-based star Dan Maloney and London native Ray Johnson all make up the 16man list that has officially been unveiled ahead of the event next weekend. WWE has also given fans a section on WWE.com so that they can read up on all of these 16-men and become familiar with them before they take to the ring in just over a weeks time. It will be interesting to see what happens to the winner of the first ever UK Championship after the event takes place, there were rumours that there would be a weekly British show on the WWE Network, much like the current 205 Live for the Cruiserweight Division, but this plan is not yet set in stone. There are already superstars like Neville and Jack Gallagher who are representing Britain on a global scale with WWE every week,

and fans are worried that this will affect the way they are seen if many other Brits descend on the company. It is also thought that this could be the beginning of WWE’s goal for global domination as they look to head over to Canada and other parts of the world and have more tournaments to crown more superstars and then have all the winners of the tournament compete to crown a main world Champion. It will be interesting to see how this pans out for WWE, and to see if the rest of the world accepts the British style, it is a bit of a gamble for WWE, given that many parts of the world are unaware of many of the stars who are taking part in the tournament, but they were also unaware of most of the talent in the Cruiserweight Classic, but this was still considered a rousing success. The fact that wwe live tickets has commissioned something like this and World of Sport has recently come back to TV after 30 years, can only mean great things for British wrestling moving forward, and it seems that WWE are ready to latch themselves onto the rebirth of British Wrestling over the next few years.
