Brno INdustrial

The Brno industrial world is an extensive topic that is the focus of the project Brno INdustrial. It maps the rise and fall of industry in Brno, presents operational and defunct buildings, examines the stories of famous families, and connects it all to contemporary creative industries. You can get to know industrial Brno on several walks and sightseeing rides. Among other things, you will see a collection of the last surviving textile machines in Brno and a unique art protis machine, probably the only functioning tool of its kind in the country. You will also learn where the first Kaplan turbine was made, how Vaňkovka looked when there was a factory there, and much more. A separate tour is devoted to Zbrojovka, where guns were made together with sewing machines, cars, tractors, and computers.

From June, you can enjoy a sightseeing ride on a minibus. Choose from the popular route Palace of Industrial Aristocrats or the Workers Colonies, which arose as a result of high unemployment and expensive housing in flats in the 1920s.
