•Therearedifferentmethodsofdetermining theworld’slargestairport.Oneisby physicalsize,whichgivesthehonorto SaudiArabia’sKingFahdInternational, occupyingnearly300squaremiles,about thesizeofallfiveNewYorkCityboroughs combined.Butdespiteitssize,KingFahdis onlythethird-busiestairportinSaudi Arabia,withabout9.7millionpassengers annually.Theairportthathoststhemost passengersisinGuangzhou,China,with nearly44millionpassengerspassing througheveryyear.Sevenoutoftenofthe world’shighestpassengercountsareat airportsinChina.Thedistinctionofthe largesttotalvolume--themosttake-offsand landings--belongstoAtlanta,Georgia’s airport.

•Theworld’stallestairtrafficcontroltoweris atSaudiArabia’sJeddahKingAbdulaziz InternationalAirport.At446feet(136m),it standstallerthantheGreatPyramidofGiza. Malaysia’sKualaLumpurtowerisaclose secondat439feet(133.8),comprising33 floorsandarooftop.Atlanta,Georgia,is hometothetallesttowerinNorthAmerica, 398feettall(121.3m).

•DenverInternationalAirport,byphysical size,isthesecond-largestairportinthe world,withanareaofabout53squaremiles (136sq.km)–largerthanManhattan--and hasthelongestpublicuserunwayinNorth America.Located25miles(40km)from downtownDenver,it’s19miles(31km) fartherfromdowntownthanStapleton InternationalAirport,whichitreplacedin 1995.Stapletonhadbeenthecity’sprimary airportsince1929,buthadnoroomtoadd additionalflightsanditsrunwaysweretoo closetogethertoaccommodatejetsproperly. VA'sOfficeofInspector GeneralStrikesAgain

TheDepartmentofVeteransAffairs'Officeof InspectorGeneralwasaskedtoreviewthe responseoffacilityleadersatacertainVAhealth locationwhentherehadbeenallegationsof sexualharassmentofamentalhealthpatient. Specifically,thepatientclaimedtohavebeen harassedviasocialmediabyafoodservice workerandreportedthistoseveralpeople, includingasupervisorandanHRspecialist.No one,itappeared,haddonemuchofanything, andthepatientwasincreasinglystressedand anxious.

Itwasonlyafterthepatientwasadmittedtoa mentalhealthwardthatanursereportedittothe VA'spolice,withthesocialmediapostsas proof.Toolittle,toolate.Thepeoplewhoshould haveintervenedtriedtoweaseloutof responsibilityduringtheinvestigationbysaying theydidn'tthinktheycouldtakeanyaction becausethesocialmediapostsweredoneafter workinghoursandoff-site.Later,when someoneelsecalledforawelfarecheckatthe patient'shome,thepolicefoundthepatientdead bysuicide.

Sexualharassmentbecomessexualassaultwhen it'shands-on,andaVAphysicianwasindicted onjustthat:sexualassaultofatleastfour womenduringroutineexamswhileworkingata VAhospital.Authoritiessuspecttherewere additionalwomenwhowereassaultedandask thattheycomeforwardtoaddtothe investigation.Thedoctor,meanwhile,hasbeen assignedtoajobwithnopatientinteraction.

Ifthisisn'tbadenough,considertheVA employeewhowassendingoutchild pornography--overthepublicWi-FiataVA medicalcenter.Notonlydidtheperpsenditout, buthehadacollectionathome,andthechildren involvedwereundertheageof12.Distribution couldgethimupto20yearsinprison,andthe possessioncouldgethimanidenticalamountof time,includingpossiblefinesofupto$250,000 foreachcharge.

However,Iwouldnotcallthedruga"miracle," noristhereaguaranteeoflivingmanymore years.Tome,amiracleiswhensomeone recoverswhennodoctorexpectedthemto.I haveseenafewinmycareer,andtheyarevery powerful.Ihaveseenmanytreatmentsthat haveincrementalimprovementsinoutcomes, andovertime,thathasledtodramatic improvementsinmanydiseases.
