Spring is officially here, and what could be more suitable than celebrating with an entire month dedicated to South African’s favourite pastime – having a BRAAI! Whether you’re doing it on your stoep in Strandfontein, or on your patio in Pretoria. Or at your mother’s brother’s uncle’s house in Kraaifontein. There’s nothing better than the smell of a chop sizzling on the coals. And as an extra bonus … WE GET THE DAY OFF!!! Our government set this day aside for all South Africans to celebrate our rich heritage. Browsing on the internet, I’ve stumbled onto braai.com, whose mission is to position National Braai Day as South Africa’s annual day of celebration on National Heritage Day.
