SINCE OUR CREATION IN 2011, ZUIVER’S PHILOSOPHY HAS ALWAYS BEEN: TOMORROW’S DESIGN FOR TODAY’S INTERIOR. WE DELIVER AN INTERIOR COLLECTION OF FRESH, FASHIONABLE AND CONTEMPORARY FURNITURE, LIGHTING AND ACCESSORIES DESIGNED IN THE NETHERLANDS. THE ZUIVER COLLECTION IS SOLD IN MORE THAN 80 COUNTRIES ACROSS 3 DIFFERENT CONTINENTS.

The Spring/Summer 2021 collection of Zuiver honours the beauty of everyday. A celebration of simplicity. The sun creating shadows on your wall, the scent of your garden, the soft touch of your favourite lounge chair… These everyday moments, which we have grown so used to, unconsciously make us feel at ease and defines your personal space. Your home, is much more than a collection of beautiful objects, it’s the place where life unfolds, a collection of moments. In this Zuiver SS21 collection, sandy and natural tones and organic silhouettes meet sculptural patterns and lines. Pure and honest materials as walnut, glass and ceramics are combined with innovative and smart materials as water-resistant fabric and a coffee residue bio-plastic – an answer to cut back our virgin plastic use as part of our sustainable mission. invites you to take a step back and enjoy the little things indoors and outdoors. A breeze of home with our forever designs. ‘‘My favourite moments at home are defined by simple every day routines and moments. Hearing my son playing the piano, a warm summer evening on my terrace, the sound of birds chirping in the distance or the smell of homemade cappuccino. These moments define my feeling of being home. This concept is what I translated in the new SS21 collection; a collection of forever designs giving you your own breeze of home. I can’t create these special moments for you, but hopefully our new designs can add just a little’’

STEPS TOWARDS SUSTAINABILITY ALTERNATIVE MATERIALS As a front-runner in the furniture design field, Zuiver feels it’s our responsibility to minimize our environmental footprint by exploring alternative materials and production methods. Within the Zuiver collection we launched our very first sustainable design back in 2019: the Thirsty chair. The shell of this chair is made out of 60-100 upcycled PET bottles, at the start of 2021 we’ve used more than 100.000 of PET bottles. This season we come with a new sustainable design. We used coffee residue for the shell of of our iconic and bestseller Albert Kuip chair; containing 42.5% coffee waste. More responsible Zuiver designs to follow soon this year.

HQ AND MORE We have taken more significant steps towards sustainability: our global HQ is generating 30% of its own energy through solar panels, and within 5 years we aim for this to be 100%; we encourage all our manufactures to use recyclable packaging materials and to reduce the use of virgin plastics and Styrofoam.

ALBERT KUIP COFFEE CHAIR The world drinks a lot of coffee. Over 2.25 billion cups are consumed daily worldwide and this produces an enormous amount of waste. This coffee residue is used for the shell of our iconic Albert Kuip chair, containing 42.5% coffee waste. But there is more. In our Albert Kuip chair series, we use natural oak wood legs, but when there is a discolouration or knot, we unfortunately have to reject and destroy that copy. But we found a solution: we now simply paint these misfits black and use them for this chair. So there you have it: our most sustainable chair so far.

THIRSTY CHAIR & ARMCHAIR

The shell of this pretty chair is made out of upcycled PET bottles that are saved from landfills in China. China is struggling with a huge amount of single-use plastic waste. Every chair contains up to 60 to 100 PET bottles. This design chair, frame included, is 100% recyclable and renewable. Now there you have a great bottle story! The Thirsty chair is the first action in Zuiver’s sustainability mission; an initiative to minimize our environmental and social footprint by exploring alternative materials and production methods.

GROW FLOOR LAMP

We brought the houseplant to a next level; meet our Zuiver Grow lamp-series. For this framed beauty we worked together with Rotterdam-based design studio REM atelier. Together we created four different sized, dimmable lamps with each presenting their own exotic houseplant: Zebra Plant (M), Fiddle Leaf Fig (L), Fan Palm (XL), and Elephant Ear Plant (XXL). A three-dimensional, layered picture of the plant is placed into a light box, creating a hyper realistic illusion of a living plant. REM Atelier started observing the way people decorated their living spaces with plants. The plants are often placed in window frames and clinging to the windows, as plants tend to do when they grow towards the light. So who’s up for some illusion with this exotic houseplant that doesn’t need any water nor can’t die? Show us your hands!

This pretty tactile ceramic newcomer is our Bassin vase. A design made by Dutch design Studio Suolle. This vase is inspired by Dutch water towers. These towers were widely built in the Netherlands since the mid-nineteenth century to store water. Today only 175 of these water towers remain. Most have been declared national monuments. The vase comes only in blossom white so that it blends in with every interior, and more important, doesn’t steal the thunder away from your flowers.
